That's exactly the point, they see the game as it is, largely without any pre conceived ideas.

They were complimentary of Dolan because he played well, no need for excuses.

The point im making isnt about Dolan. He did ok on Wednesday but most of their compliments came at the start.

Its about the idea that its better to listen to opposition commentary for a more balanced opinion. What you actually get is an opinion having not seen much of the players in question.

Come on, let’s not re-write history.

Eustace kept us up and left us in 6th place this season.

I get the vitriol towards him, but he did a good job for us in the short time he was here.

Last season was shit but this season has been fantastic.

No point dwelling on his bad spell, the whole atmosphere was completely toxic after yet another January transfer sabotage and JDT publicly calling out Suhail and the owners before swiftly being exited from the building.

What is it with us playing QPR after the transfer window anyway? I'm starting to think this could all be their fault.

Well yes, they generally comment on our performance without any preconceived ideas,no baggage so to speak.

Their's is a study of one game in isolation, which I like.

I don't need them to give an overall view of the season, I can do that myself.

What the fucks he playing at?

Doing anything possible to leave the shit show that is Rovers?

New narrative in play then I suppose - if we tumble down the league it’s big bad naughtyJE’s fault for jilting us.

No alatheia there is no new narrative as there is only me irritated with the manner of his departure.

Eustace was texting a million clubs whilst preaching unity and I don't think that is very classy.

Based on what I'm reading its inevitable we will now fall down the league as apparently its all Eustaces doing that sees us in the play off places.

We are not a shit show, far from it, we are in.5th. There are 19 clubs worse off than us this season.

Well I have to admit, I took great pleasure in seeing derby get skelped and hurtling towards the trap door.
I was a big get Eustace in when jdt went , I jumped to his defence when we weren’t winning at the start of his tenure, and I absolutely get that it’s a toxic environment to work in but……

he had a moral obligation to see out the season to the players and the fans and he has embarrassed us. No issue with him leaving in the summer , but now when it could potentially derail the whole season, I’m sorry but the meek excuses don’t wash. Let down so will take pleasure seeing derby drop

The weak excuses don't wash, as they are a lie.

Derby do not have a better strategy, structure or longer term.vision at all.

There is nothing long term about Cambridge away.

He obviously doesn't think we are good enough to get in the play offs. Which is ideal motivation for our squad.

We cant sign players on long contracts. We cant renew players contracts. We do not know if Venkys will send any funds other than the bare minimum required to keep us just about functioning. We are clearly incapable of making a future plan, hence why the 'project has changed' twice in the last two summer transfer windows.

I guarantee Derby will have an absolute better idea how they will fund the club whilst trying to progress next year, regardless of divison, than we do.

Be mad at Eustace by all means, but dont ignore the absolute potential shitshow he is leaving.

I'm not particularly bothered about Eustace now as I'm not about any player or manager who leaves us. I watched the game last night as I do most Championship games on Sky and probably the most interest take from me was the look on the face of the Derby owner every time the camera panned to him.

If a picture can paint a thousand words he is one worried man.

He’s certainly taken on a more difficult job than Rovers this time last season.

Liam Rosenior one of the foreign options?

I'd be surprised. He's doing well at Strasbourg and was unfairly dismissed by Hull. He'd surely think twice about coming to work for this lot.

I'm going to guess that the supposed 3 that have been interviewed are Karanka, Wicky & Wellens.

I think so too.

As most people have pointed out he doesn't have a Szmodics of anything near to him. If I was a Derby supporter I would be more worried about the defence though. They were really poor and QPR took their foot off the gas at 4-0 otherwise it could have been a lot worse.

As others have stated, he’s gone now and let’s move on.

He will never come out and say, my head was turned by the extra money, just like any other player or manager in the football business, but there is lots of greed and money will have been a big factor in this.

Does Eustace really care, where Rovers or Derby will be in 10 years? Does he heck.

Much as I hate the regime at Rovers, what Eustace thought of it all is irrelevant, as I would bet my bottom dollar, had Rovers offered him 20% more than what Derby have, he would be still here.

In my view it was constructive dismissal.

Good luck to whoever is next. Unless they are so desperate because no-one else will hire them or they've lost all self-respect that they're happy to abandon all ambition and just turn up and take the money, then I give them about a year before they walk, too.

Would have to disagree. There's no moral obligation when you yourself have been lied to. He left us in a safe place at least. And football fans should be unembarrassable. There's nothing embarrassing about being badly run or being let down by a player, manager or owner. That's not on the fans. Embarrassment for fans is reserved for teams whose fans let them down, like Burnley's recent fly-over, Millwall's seemingly ever present racism or certain clubs hooligan element. It's not embarrassing if fans support teams owned by questionable owners if they are realistic about what is happening and not rolling over and getting their belly tickled by evil sugar daddy's. But what's to be embarrassed about for a manager leaving us for a team lower than us? That should be embarrassing for the owners. It won't be, but that's up to them. I refuse to be embarrassed on their behalf. Angry, yes, and wistful of previous times but not embarrassed.

If venkys had backed JE we wouldn't have this thread.

JE is a 45 year old looking after his own/family interest. He's found, via a numberous routes, a higher paid & more secure job with far better employers. This new job is for 3 years and he goes there confident he can do the business having just fired his previous team from the great escape of 2023-24 to top 6 contenders of 2024-25, including good results against top championship teams. Football coaching is something he's good at.

Good luck to him personally but as for football hope we stuff Derby and rub it in with the "JE, JE whats the score" at Pride Park in a few weeks time. Football is a great game.

The ONLY thing that matters to me at this moment is we need to beat Plymouth today.

If Rovers had any sort of plan for this summer and beyond Eustace would still be here.

Court cases, lies about budgets, staff turnover and  players out of contract are just a few of the reasons why relegation threatened Derby are a much better prospect than a terribly run dysfunctional club like Blackburn Rovers.

Do you think JE could just leave when he wanted to? It required someone to pay it and Derby were willing to do that. Not sure he’ll be on more money but he now has an income until summer 2028 regardless of what happens.

IF he stayed - would another club pay the fee required when so many more managers are potentially available during the summer as opposed to mid season? Not a chance he felt was worth taking despite a playoff chance at Rovers. That screams to me that he was absolutely desperate to leave - regardless of destination. His past at Derby was just window dressing
