The posters on here weren’t being ‘cap doffers’ and ‘hand wringers’, they were ‘bleating’ that ‘it wouldn’t work’, because it wouldn’t work, that’s due to the fact that the Ewood crowd just isn’t up for it - as we’ve seen over 15 sorry years.

I'd be more surprised at Coventry hiring Lampard over him!

Lampard was the owners hire, he went against advice from the board/DoF.

If the heat was turned up at the ground, I wonder if Waggott would get the fan groups down to Ewood again to get a telling off from the senior players committee or whatever it was amusingly called. I just remember Szmods sitting there looking like he'd rather be anywhere else.

If Rovers were in a relegation fight again then I could see it, but the league position easily influences a lot of fans who attend.

I don't know what went on at that meeting last year (the week JDT left I think it was?), but I sincerely hope that the fans that attended gave Waggott both barrels and made it crystal clear we want the owners to put the club up for sale.

From memory I think there were some harsh words exchanged(@J*B I think was there?) but it was mostly met with a response of 'get behind the lads ffs' and that the boos were making the younger players upset at half time or something.

We’ve had protests, marches, banners, planes overhead, some not going to matches, chickens on the pitch, snowballs thrown, ironic posts here by the thousands.

We’ve also had fans (pregnant and otherwise) intimidated by heavies in the ground, supporters shouting down protesters, stooges controlling narratives in the press, agents threatening legal action.

We’ve had in response a press that isn’t really interested, the EFL who wish it would all go away, a fanbase that wants to just get behind the lads, managers who have attempted to shine light on the situation, court cases in India. Result? Nada.

I can’t remember the exacts anymore, but I gave Waggott some more than harsh words.

Haven’t been invited back since!

I was kicked out the ground  threatened with police the lot when all that was going on pal.

This club doesn't carry any passionate fans no-more that's the real fact i only renewed due to my kids taking interest in football and to stop then supporting the shadracks.

Time for a come back i think turn up the heat of these clowns now - we need backing by full fan base not just 20 people

I was part of the protest 11 or 12 years ago. Gave up alot of my spare time.  No one was interested

I could do without Jim MK2’s news so soon after another defeat but it only confirms what everyone knows John Eustace must be feeling. No doubt the same as JDT was feeling 12 months ago and the Rovers fans have been feeling for nearly 15 years, since the Indians darkened our door. So depressing 😡

What took you so long Matt? 😂

I don’t buy it. We’ll see, but this sounds more like conjecture based on frustration. Eustace is a pro like most managers, he works season to season and can’t be concerned about ”visions for the years ahead” when he knows his position is under threat whenever he loses a couple of games in a row, no matter who the owners are.

i think thats where you are wrong,a manager looks to the board for ambition, clarity, future strategy and more importantly money for players,if he`s not getting any of those, then no doubt he`ll look for a way out,no decent manager/coach can work with the guttersnipe at ewood,it`s impossible

We didn’t really need Jim’s words. A blind man on a galloping horse would realise that no ambitious manager is going to put up with the chicken chokers for a minute longer than they need to.

And therein lies the problem. The full fan base has no idea of the ‘shenanigans’ that went on at the time of the takeover and in the year or two afterwards.

A select few who took action knew. The delegation that went to the authorities knew. A number of posters on here knew and that number has since grown over the years with folk passing on stories and info etc.

The stark reality, however, is that probably around 98% of our fan base is ignorant of the facts and, after all this time, would no doubt have trouble actually believing what went on.

I’m too old for this sort of thing now. It’s up to the youth of Blackburn and East Lancs if they care to step forward. As a starting point (if anything tangible were ever to recommence), I would plaster bullet points all over social media and local press with a view to arranging talks at a variety of venues in Blackburn and the wider area. Working men’s clubs, village halls and similar places. Get the fan base educated. Give them the facts. Rumble Venky’s, rumble Waggott, rumble the Shadow Man.

You would never get the 98% on board but 25% would be a good start. If 25% of a current fan base of say 12k were willing to ‘take action,’ how good would that be? That would be 3k able and willing to ‘make a nuisance’ of themselves, in whatever way was felt necessary.

The KEY to all this is to get those not in the know, IN THE KNOW. At that point in time, there should be a ground swell of support for the cause. It would be a point in time when something could happen. What that something is, that’s for others to decide.

If our support does nothing, the status quo will remain.

I compiled a breakdown of every major event that happened since 2021 onto a spreadsheet and posted it on here about six or seven months ago.

It'll need to be updated but I can post it again.

It shows in no uncertain terms that they are not fit to be a part of this club.

The whole idea of it was that people could update it as things happen and it can be used as the basis for writing articles about the state of things etc.

Yep, I remember it and very good it was too.

The other main problem with all this, is finding someone with the energy and drive to carry it forward. By someone, I really mean several people.

I’m done with it now. I was just putting forward a suggestion as to how I thought the problem should be tackled. I’m weary with it all and my apathy towards the club these days is as much because of the limp wristed lack of action from the supporter base as it is because of Venky’s and their stooges.

If you have a problem, in any walk of life, you analyse it, draw up a plan of action and carry that plan through in an attempt to resolve it. You won’t always succeed but at least you can say that you tried.

The vast majority of the current crop of Rovers fans can’t look themselves in the mirror and say that.

Over and out.

Wasn't the rumour that they couldn't afford the compensation?

It wasn’t just rumours it is 100% correct.

I was told this by a current Championship employee. Someone who I have known for over 20 years, who I trust implicitly.

Can you recall in as best detail as you can? I may find it cathartic…
