I think we've brought in some quality players that could see us eek into those play-offs under strong positive stewardship. If his hearts not in it he needs moving on asap. And we won't score enough goals under Rob Edwards cos we've not brought in any proper strikers. And then half the squad leaves in the summer. We then replace with cheap signings and loans. Popular Post RoversClitheroe Posted February 9 Popular Post Posted February 9 We desperately need a Trust of some sort to step up and give the people answers, maybe a trust that's managed to meet Pasha recently? Maybe a trust that's meant to be a "critical friend" Oh wait. They've literally gone missing. 17 Quote

The issue is the ownership imo. However, they're going nowhere. We are in a very decent position. Someone like Edwards, Warnock et.al, might just be able to pull off a miracle.. Venkys out! Quote
Mattyblue Posted February 9 Posted February 9 ‘Strong positive stewardship’. Totally agree, be great to see some of that at Blackburn Rovers. 2 Quote

Players out of contract. Replaced with cheapies. Relegation. Fuck him. Off you jog...... Oh I agree, whole-heartedly. Venkys need to fuck off. However, it looks very unlikely, and in the short-term we have a decent chance of play-off's. Whether Eustace stays or doesn't the issues that plague the club aren't going anywhere. So let's just try pulling off a miracle. As you said, the contract situation and short-term thinking is disastrous and will eventually, you would think, lead to us being relegated... Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted February 9 Posted February 9 We’ve been here before, eustace may get short term assurances which everyone believes silences Waggot et al when in reality they’re happy to play the villain get their wedge and the fuck Eustace off as the bad guy in the press during the summer. Same happened to JDT. Rinse and repeat. All these managers come and go, the only constant is Waggot drawing his wedge and the circus continues 3 Quote

Eustace (like JDT) has had his hands tied the entire time he's been here, and he's done a sterling job considering. We should be thanking him if/when he goes for his service. 9 Quote

Until we're rid of them I think we're realistically hoping for a miracle and even then it doesn't fix anything really.. 5 Quote
Old Codger Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I wonder, what would we all do, if the club really did just disappear one day in administration? It's a bit like thinking of the last days of the Romans in Britain - lots of infrastructure, a glorious past, reminders of what once had been all around, but in reality everything out of step with the here and now. Blackburnus Romanus Fama Defuncta.. I remember them.. 4 Quote
Bohinen1983 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I'd be absolutely heart broken if that occured... I don't think I'd be able to watch football again.. 2 Quote

Hasta Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Last year I think internally JDT was going for a while before it actually happened. That’s why JE was in within days. I think this situation would be a little different. Edited February 9 by Hasta Quote

You’re completely missing the point mate. You have to think, why…why is a good manager, a good human being with values and morals looking to swap us for a club 16 places below us? Honestly, we’re completely rotten. It’s so sad. 24 Quote

All these managers come and go, the only constant is Waggot drawing his wedge and the circus continues He’s already gone… When he took the job, he was promised the Maguire money if he kept us up, and then they reneged. To the point he offered his resignation more than once in the summer. They managed to talk him round and the signing of Cantwell probably helped. Then he gets us into 5th in January and we take the piss again. They could offer him £20m in the summer and he wouldn’t believe them. Runs deeper than transfers too. Most of the staff haven’t had a pay rise in years. The players aren’t getting new contracts, the club lacks class. It’s not conducive with Eustace. Trust completely broken down.
