Though whether the people who make the decisions on Venky's behalf would come to the same thought... 1 Quote

Don't know if he'd consider us but he would be ideal in the circumstances we face. Wouldn't be pretty but that's hardly the point right now. 1 1 Quote

It is new. This isn't normal, it isn't 'how it's always been', it isn't acceptable. 7 Quote
Rileyt82 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I just hope someone half decent comes in. I have a sneaky suspicion it maybe someone like Steve Bruce. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted February 9 Posted February 9 the absolute worst case scenario is eustace saving derby from relegation and coming in for some of our players in the summer, lets face it,if your on the playing staff at ewood, you`ll be looking for a way out, especially if you have a year left on your contract 1 Quote

Not sure Warnock fancies it anymore and Dyche would command wages we'd likely not pay. So Big Sam would be my choice. Listen to the opinion of any player who's worked with him; they love him and would walk through fire for him. Also massively underrated as a tactician, gets the best out of his players and has them playing as a team. These are all pipe dream. The only people applying for this are those who love the club, like Gareth Ainsworth, Keith Hill, Simon Grayson… and individuals like John Gregory and Adie Boothroyd, who want to restart their English league managerial career. Word will have got round about how they promise the world and deliver nothing. Edited February 9 by scotchrover 1 Quote

He's transformed the England under 21s but there's no way he'd give that gig up He was the caretaker England manager and at one stage was deemed favourite to get it on a permanent basis. Do you really think he would even consider taking on this dismantled and discredited club, which is 15 years into its journey to oblivion. 5 Quote

Popular Post Rover down South Posted February 9 Popular Post Posted February 9 Be gutted to see Eustace go, but if he does, no hard feelings from me and I wish him well. He hasn’t been backed so why should he jeopardise his managerial career with a club that doesn’t match his ambition. His usual positive demeanour had evaporated by the end of January, so he was clearly pissed off with the window. We’ll be scraping the barrel with our next appointment. The club is a sinking ship. Waggott doesn’t care and Venkys are not bothered at all. Who would want to come here? Rooney would probably turn us down! Eustace has far out performed the expectations of him. They didn’t back him in the window like they didn’t back JDT. Playoffs were never in the script. There is no ambition to go back up. There never will be. The club is being torn to shreds and in July, when a threadbare squad is all that remains, League One is inevitable. 13 Quote

I can't think of one other example of a manager leaving a club in the playoffs to join a club in the relegation zone. In the space of just over a year two managers have left the club at the first opportunity for the same reasons. 23 Quote

Got Luton promoted against all the odds but he was sacked by Watford after just 11 games and had an absolute mare when Luton came back down. Was his promotion just a Coyle-esq fluke? Had success at Forest Green before hand too to be fair. Watford always a bad place to judge a manager / sacking. Good at Forest Green, Got Luton promoted - I’d struggle to see us do better with Venkys around personally. Edit: Won the league with Forest Green and took Luton to the Premier League (and did better than expected up there) - think we’d have been delighted with that success when JDT gave up on our owners. superniko Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Wonder if Duff would give us a go. Won the league in Ireland last year, would expect his next step to be the Championship, albeit he is a big advocate of the league of Ireland so may seem hypocritical. Also, didn’t watch that league at all but looks like a bloody boring team - they won the league with only 40 goals in 36 games! No chance on Carsley. I’d fear the worst for our next appointment to be honest, only so long we can keep getting away with it. 2 Quote
Popular Post Nuttall is lost Posted February 9 Popular Post Posted February 9 Word is Venkys are replacing Eustace with an AI bot who will use voice technology to instruct the team on various matters and tactics. Information and data on the game will be fed to the bots AI system and a solution will be obtained and given to the players during the game and at half time through its voice technology system. The owners plan to call it Al Shearer 13 Quote
Rover1984 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 If Eustace goes I don’t think he will be replaced by a manager. Be another coach who will have to make do with what we have. Squad will need rebuilding in the summer with loans/freebies and whatever youth to fill the gaps. Wouldn’t be surprised if Damian Johnson is promoted 1 Quote

simongarnerisgod Posted February 9 Posted February 9 maggott and his cronies will realise on their part ,they`ve appointed 2 bright.ambitious managers who have had us near the top six, this is not in the plan, therefore the next manager will be a complete basket case or a steady pension topper upper like mowbray, either way it`s not sustainable and the season ticket sales next year will be an absolute honker😆 4 Quote

Uddersfelt Blue Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Can’t believe we actually won 6 games on the bounce this season. Or was it just a dream and now waking up to a nightmare? 2 Quote
cesus Posted February 9 Posted February 9 If I'm being honest, I could make peace with JDT's exit as I still held a belief that nobody is bigger than the club and he was just an empty vessel going through the motions. I like Eustace and actually hold him in very high respect, his probable exit has just made me double down that the club is the empty vessel now. 2 Quote
