WWhen Eustace signed I was a bit sceptic.....

looked at his record :

2016–2018 Kidderminster Harriers
2019 Queens Park Rangers (caretaker)
2022–2023

Birmingham City

Not so impressive. Hes done a good job here but with a Steve Cooper it could be the final piece going up. I think some of us called him "Useless" at times....

Didn't you post this once already earlier in the thread?

Yes:
Steve Cooper
Big Sam
Sean Dyche
Valerien Ismael

No:
Steven Gerrard
Wayne Rooney

I think he would’ve been doing well to have our head above the relegation zone waters.

Last season, most of us on here were sure we’d go down this season, even if we survived last.

He hasn’t had Szmodics this season, and you could hardly say he was well backed to replace him in the Summer.

Had we appointed a less competent head coach, we’d now be languishing at the foot of the table.

Even then , we wouldn’t really be blaming said head coach.

Anything could happen now, but with so many contracts running down, and loanees, a further descent is a likely outcome.

Thanks to Eustace and his assistants, we won’t be sweating on the last day of the season.

There's nothing to suggest another manager couldn't have kept us up though, again I reiterate I don't want Eustace to go, but I don't think he has the god-like qualities some are making out.

Sheffield Wednesday are almost a like for like comparison. They finished below us last season, they have probably invested a similar amount with Ugbo being their main signing of note. They sit 3 points behind us (for now).

They don't want to get promoted, they've been quite clear about this.

Think I need a break from all this

You and me both mate, I was supposed to be taking my lad to his first game on Saturday too.  I haven't been to a match since I took part in a protest before relegation from the Prem.  I didn't plan to go back under the Venky's, but started to be tempted back, as I have been down the years.  Due to work,  I'd planned this as a perfect match months ago and now I don't know if I want to.  It's not exactly going to be the day I thought it would; it'd be like taking him for his first beers at a funeral. Fucking bastards. They've kept me away for so long.  My lad's name is Jack, I always wonder how many on here also named their sons that?  What a legend Jack Walker was, his family should be ashamed.

Yet , they are managing to control the narrative again.

I do hope Eustace comes out at his Derby press conference and slams Waggott and Co but I doubt it. Perhaps some journalists will rip into them, certainly a story here.

I wish he would, he's probably under an NDA.  What a bunch of crooks.

You can add Bristol C there and QPR...

Is Lowe still at the club, haven't seen him for a while.... must have one of the longest contracts ever.

He hasn't been involved on match days for some time now. He has been scouting future opponents.

Blackburns tränare John Eustace vill till Derby – agerandet kritiseras

The news about Eustace in one of Swedish biggest papers...we really are shambles in the World of football.

Only time Rovers is ever mentioned in Sweden is when shit like this happens.

I don't understand why it is so difficult for some people to understand. We will never prosper as a club again until the fuckers that own us just cluck off back to India and sell the club to someone who cares. All these people with their heads in the sand rambling on about the "owners clearly backing the club"... I'd like some of what they are smoking.

Think you may add:

Des Buckingham (without work), Oxford latest club) and Dave Challinor to that list. Challinor has done extremely well with Stockport. 188 games 54% win.

Rob Edwards would be interested but not sure on him or Ryan Lowe.

Not until the fans are united & the LT comments show the disparity of opinions…

Which is why the club statement makes your blood boil. It's a ploy as old as time itself. Divide and conquer.

The only glimmer of hope I have is that those in the boardroom feel they still need to employ these tactics, suggesting they think their positions aren't completely bulletproof. Waggott panicked when JDT left, with meeting the fans.

At least this season the threat of relegation isn't there. As we drop away from the playoffs I have some hope that a tipping point will be hit and the entire stadium will turn and it won't just be for one game. We do need to stay angry and not just accept defeat.

It's hard to see an end to their reign, but a united fanbase, no season ticket sales etc. These things might make the owners wake up.

Personally I liked WATR statement. Especially the part about Pasha. He should be advising the owners to sell the club. He controls all information in and out of India. We need to use him to achieve the bigger picture, rather than him leaving the club. He'd just be replaced by somebody else, equally as incompetent. As for Waggott. He's a wanker.

Unfortunately I don't think the majority of fans will turn.  I've come to the conclusion that we are a very small proportion. The fans that would protest don't go to the matches anymore, they have given up because it's hopeless.

Pasha's request to sell the club will be like a junk email to them, they don't give a fuck. They are either keeping us because they have skeletons in the closet or they are doing so in spite.

Someone needs to ask that cunt Suhail what the fuck is their endgame here, because getting us into the top flight definitely isn't it.

If we were Liverpool or Man Utd this wouldn't be allowed to happen.

Right now the only solution I see is getting on the pitch and getting every game abandoned.  Every.single.match. until we end up in League Two. The Premier league and the FA knew years ago about this and refused to help. Let's make this a text book case.

That may be true, but the whole point is that up until January 1st we had been deeply ensconced in the top 6 most of the season, with a reasonable gap to 7th & below &/or with very winnable fixtures to come, only for the club to the fail to support Eustace with proper fresh investment (both in terms of cost & timing) in January to enable him to properly rest & rotate those who were ailing from having played too much football due to the squad depth being shallower than the sea at Southport.

All whilst we've had >£35m added to the coffers, during a period when there's "no impediment to the owners continuing to fund the club".

Most commentators in football feel JE has worked wonders in the circumstances, and I think most people who know the game properly and who understand the background at this club, think it's all stinky bollocks. Because it is.

He was doing the warm up against Wolves and Preston I'm pretty sure.

Met him once on an FA safeguarding/first aid course. Nice fella (tin hat on - I know nobody cares if he's nice or not etc.)

I didn't see any of the warm ups in those games. He told me himself he was scouting future opponents. We played an under 21 match at Ewood the night before Plymouth away and I walked out with him. I asked him why he wasn't in Plymouth and he told me he was going to watch Swansea the day after. Other people have confirmed too that he was given this new role by Eustace.

Mate take him.

What we ALL need to remember is the youngsters will oneday be the fanbase of this club.

Whilst we know how shit it is, it's the best thing ever for kids watching Rovers even if it's not a full ground and the singing is minimal they've got to enjoy it for what it is. I'm goin to continue taking my daughter she's obsessed got to keep bringing the next generations through regardless of the situation right now
