philipl Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Whatever side we put out, there is about 1 in 6 chance we will play abysmally based on games to date. More likely we will play remarkably well given the circumstances but it will be a toss up whether we lose to a mistake at the back or win through eventually converting a chance. Of course it could be that extreme rarity, a draw. QPR on a bit of role themselves so chances are it will be a good game. As always Chair is the danger. Quote

He's been nuisance value up until the last 3 games, he's now looking like a proper centre forward, and no doubt he'll improve further. I love how he's now rollocking the other players and demanding of them. Someone sent me a post on Friday night from a Leeds fan. He asked is anyone else watching Blackburn v Preston and thinking Blackburn's big centre forward is exactly what we need? I think the issue we have is Gueye is obviously more of a number 10 in terms of where he wants to play and make the most damage. He isnt going to play on the last mans shoulder, he's going to drop off into the number 10 area. And when he does hes brilliant at winning everything, laying off, and has a decent pass as well. He also will get into the box late to get on things What that means is we need players to get past him and stretch the play.... But unfortunately everyone we have loves coming short except Ohashi and hopefully kagbo. Edited February 3 by joey_big_nose 2 Quote

A quick scout on their message board suggests that he's been a shadow of himself recently. Calls for him to be dropped even, others saying that he hasn't got his mojo back post-injury. Tough one to call this - but I don't think they're anything to be scared of. The worst team I can remember being at Ewood this season (red card might have had something to do with that to be fair) and a day less to prepare than us. Plus they've got their fare share of injuries too. 1 Quote

I still think we can win this one... 2 Quote

Ossydave Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Not quite Boro levels but we have a decent record against the R's so they're probably not looking forward to playing us. That said, do we ever play well on a Tuesday night? A numerous of teams around us play in the league at weekend so we could slip a few places here if we lose. They've only failed to score twice in 15 at home, a clean sheet is gonna be very hard work, I'm going for a 2-1 away win with Hyam and another Cantwell penalty for the goals. Quote
arbitro Posted February 4 Posted February 4 It looks like we are going into this game with only one recognised striker in the squad if Kargbo isn't up to speed. That could really impede us tonight in what should really be a winnable game. Hopefully we carry on the momentum from Friday but to do so I think Travis needs to start. we looked a different team whilst he was on the pitch and almost capitulated when he went off. Defensively we are looking good so I expect very few goals. A clean sheet for us will do for starters. Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'll be there this evening - always a good away trip QPR. Hoping to see the mystery man, Kargbo. Imagine it will be the same team as Preston which is fair enough. Quote

Which is why getting the likes of Kargbo and Dennis as wide forwards to run past him is going to be key. 7 Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Think it was season before last at Ewood where he had one of our mega toothless displays against a struggling team, really was horrendous. Quote
TruRover Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) Apologies in advance lads - I’ve made 3 games this season and lost every one 1nil (Watford, Millwall and Burnley). Plastics Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Can see a point here. Really hoping Trav plays the majority of the game, if not all of it. Extra days rest compared to QPR but a long journey. Absolutely no idea if there will be any debuts but would be nice to see one from the bench at least. I will go 1-1 1 Quote
MarkBRFC Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Can only be Kargbo in line for a debut. Riberio, Dennis & Woodrow would have had to signed by 12pm yesterday to be involved tonight. 1 Quote
