v QPR (a) - 4/2/2025

Recommended Posts

I wonder how the squad feels about the additions that have come on board, and perhaps more importantly, how Mr Eustace is disposed towards his new resources? It would be great if he is feeling relaxed and ready to work them into his plans.

Tonight I think we need to go back to basics and make ourselves hard to break down. Concentrate on defending properly and hope to nick a goal or two through our ability to move the ball around quickly in counter attacks. The Cantwell / Travis axis will be key to that, and if the Big Mak continues his recent form, there is always the chance of a chance, if you see what I mean.

Take it up the R's - QPR 0 - Rovers 1

Rodney Marsh's Revenge - Hoops 2 Rovers 0

Rovers Run Riot- Rangers 0 Rovers 3

Most likely score line is a narrow victory for either side. JE has us working as a team, but although the wheels haven't completely fallen off recently, you feel like there is always that potential, especially when we are so hamstrung through injuries (pardon the pun).

COYB!!

Watching the Preston game back in full - Hedges is just woeful. You have to start Kargbo if he's fit.

Also feel Kargbo gets the start. Got to look at the strengths

Likelihood is Kargbo and Ribeiro get a Wolves start so they will have to have shown extremely well in training to be starting at Loftus Road.

Despite the injury situation only slightly abating, QPR management will be guessing about our starting line up as much as we are.

Do or die game for Buckley who has been improving with game time but needs a big performance to give JE pause before putting Tronstad straight back in later this month.

Whether they are on the field, the bench or behind it, the new signings should be concentrating minds of every player getting the nod tonight.

Ribiero isn't involved tonight.

I felt like Hedges and Beck had the run of their right back for the majority of the first half. It was a link up that worked quite well

Aye, but Hedges kept running it into one of theirs, losing control, putting the ball out - lots of huff and puff, but no real impact or threat. You need your wide men to create things, for themselves and for the strikers - I didn't feel like Hedges did anything to worry the PNE back line all evening.

Watch him get the nod and score a wonder-goal and get an assist for two others this evening (in my wildest dreams)

Anyway, COYB!!

Kargbo on the bench?

I don't know. Message says the 3 signed yesterday will play against Bilbao tomorrow but doesn't mention Kargbo in that so I presume he's on the bench.

Might have to have a mooch down to the Wham Stadium tomorrow if that's the case!

I'm a bit concerned by the exact same lineup when we played fairly recently, but looking at the bench there wasn't too much choice in the matter. Cantwell clearly isn't right yet, I suppose it's too soon to start Kargbo (I mean, it's not, but I get the thinking of bringing him off the bench first) and after that there's not much you could do differently. Though personally, I'd have swapped Hedges out for ACD.

My main concern today and probably at least until Tronstad is back, is Travis. He went down 3 times in the Preston game (although one I think was just cos he was knocked down rather than feeling an injury) and the personality is he, I know he'll have told the boss he was fully fit when he's not. By God we need him, but I am gonna keep worrying about him getting an injury.
