v WBA (a) - 12/2/2025

Would like to see us mix it up a little for this one, we're missing Tronstad massively in the middle and don't have anyone of a good enough quality to partner with Travis - we really did needed to bring in a decent CM in the January window.

Wouldn't mind seeing us go for the 4-4-2 'diamond' formation as per below;

image.png.905849e510957d512b56b85e7f883820.png

Kargbo in his short cameo looked exciting, was refreshing to see a player bomb it down the wing and beat 2 men - let's hope he has the end product to go with it!

Dennis - will have to see how he gets on, would hope he'd be ready for this one. A partnership of Dennis and Gueye could be the stuff of nightmares for a pair of centre-halves.

There is an argument of playing Ribeiro in place of Beck, considering the amount of matches the latter has played.

Would play Dolan on the right, as he's slightly better than the other options at dropping back to defend where required.

It's a gung-ho approach, don't get me wrong - well aware that it leaves us lighter in the middle and could go tits up... but consider the exciting additions of Dennis and Kargbo with their pace, Cantwell spreading balls for them to get on the end of, crosses into the box for Dennis and Gueye - could get you goals galore if done right.

Maybe WBA is a risky game to do it on reflection, especially with playoffs practically off the cards now... but with 1 win in 5 and Tronstad still 3/4 weeks away, it might be time to shuffle the deck.

That team would be ripped apart with only one player in midfield.

Possibly, but we're currently getting ripped apart every week anyway, with 2 in midfield... i'm confident that the team from last night, without Tronstad, loses this game by 2 goals. Maybe time to try something new?

No clean sheets since Tronstad got injured, tells a story.

We won't keep a clean sheet in this one either, so we have to hope that someone has their shooting boots on, to ensure we get something from the game, which I consider to be highly unlikely.

Hopefully the cup game means opportunities for Ribeiro, Dennis, Kargbo and Woodrow to all get minutes and be in contention to play some part in this game, as another game with that same forward line is going to be pretty unbearable, particularly Hedges and Dolan out wide. Lord knows we need better options off the bench, as the last few games have shown we seem to be weaker after making changes.

Sadly I think WBA will be well up for this, and with Armstrong likely to make his league debut for them I expect him to score.

3-1 defeat as we slip out of the top 6 again.

Your team selection would leave our midfield over run and defence no proper protective for them.

This is a play off 6 pointer and we seem to raise our game under Eustace in these sorts of games.

Based on what I have seen of West Brom against Plymouth and Sheffield Wednesday, we should be able to defend against their players which pose threats, none less than Adam Armstrong who has just scored a delightfully guided left footer against Wednesday. The two wide attackers were dropped to the bench after the Plymouth defeat.

The Albion defence can be got at and will be without Kyle Bartley who was sent off after the final whistle with a straight red for violent conduct.

Good team!! If we get Tronstad and Yuki back and we are still in n around the play offs, then we still have a chance...With or without Eustace!

Thankfully most results this week went in our favour.

Trying to ignore the impending implosion that's going to happen in the coming days, based on what I saw in the Wolves game today I'd be starting with this team against WBA:

                     Pears

 Brittain    Batth      Hyam     Beck

              Travis    Buckley

   ACD          Dennis       Kargbo

                    Gueye

Cantwell, Dolan and Hedges should all be nowhere near the starting XI based on current form. Although ACD wasn't brilliant today, I'm sick to death of watching Dolan and Hedges put in poor performances.

Today gave all fans the clearance that Hedges and Dolan are not good enough offensively...Everytime they get the ball on the counter the attack is just non existent.

Interesting. It’d be worth while trying it out in training. I’m not sure we have enough time before Wednesday though.

Nicko on his BlueSky account suggesting we have a plan in place when/if Eustace goes to Derby.

Could we appoint Eustace's replacement the same day like we did with Eustace.

If Eustace goes and they appointed Pep, Klopp or Ancellotti, I wouldn’t care ! Eustace leaving in the same circumstances as JDT has to be the beginning of the end for these charlatan owners and their stooges. We need to take the fight for the survival of our club to them like never before.

When he goes.

Either way, terribly out of form side amidst the current disruption away versus a West Brom side off the back of a morale boosting win and with a much better team. Home win.

Venkys plan this last 14 years has been to dismantle the club, this is just other installment..

Where were we when they arrived ?

We will honour Jack's legacy!
