Thanks for asking but no, I’ve been laid low by a grotty virus so stayed at home. Delighted with the win, hoping to see one before the end of the season!

take care, old chap 😷

In my knackered, ecstatic state last night I forgot to mention that when the players had finished their warm up they came over to the corner where we were sat to applaud us. Nothing unusual in that, they do it before every away game. Last night felt so different though. They stood there for a bit longer but the look in their and and clear focus on the job in hand was apparent.

Similarly at the end of the game they stayed for longer than normal and rightly milked every drop of respect of the fans.

The connection between the players and fans last night should mean so much to us all.

I said three days ago to make Travis player manager. I said two days ago to make Travis / Tronstad joint player managers. I was a bit yongue in cheek. For 14 games only of course.

You said in your excellent, heartfelt match report Travis felt like the de facto manager yesterday.

The best chance we have of success this year is to maintain team spirit and group harmony. Therefore the best appointment is the one that maintains and enhances what we already have.

Who is that man?

Great performance last night. One to make you proud of being a Rover after the past week.

In addition, that WBA performance was textbook Mowbray. The sort of rubbish we had to endure on a regular basis

It's been said a million times... Football is a funny old game.

One day, the club is falling apart, everyone is laughing at us, you're losing your manager to a bottom 3 side and going to play away to a team expecting to beat us, presuming it will be the start of our inevitable free fall down the league...

The next day you're 5th, 3 points clear, your number 9 is the best player on planet, dreaming of the playoffs, the team your manager left you all for is going to get relegated and all those laughing have quickly shut the fuck up.

We all know there are still some deep rooted problems at the club but results and performances like that really give a Rovers fan some much needed positivity, supporting Rovers isn't great for your mental health these days!

Immensely proud of everyone, the coaching staff, players, fans...

This isn't over, we can do it.

Up yours John Eustace 🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍

One takeaway for me is as good a player as Beck is, and as good as he will be, Rovers are unbalanced defensively when both he and Brittain are in the same side (in the current tactical set up)

Rovers have really missed Pickering, and Ribeiro looks to be similar in style in that he can slide over to create that 3rd centre back, making us harder to pick off on the break.

That being said, that was with Eustace's tactical set up (and last night was largely based on the same system)  I do hope that whoever the new head coach is, they do not get ideas about completely ripping up the blueprint at this stage of the season with the current players.  and save any revolutionary ideas until the summer at least

Before every game I joke to my lad that this is the week Gueye scores an overhead kick winner.

We were walking to the ground on Sunday and I said, "You do realise that he won't score an overhead kick in his life"

I’ve been really encouraged by reports on social media of the players not being too phased about the chaos, and instead being focussed on really pushing to try and make this a season of success.

Here’s Mogga reporting on his conversation with Danny Batth: https://x.com/fyldecoastrover/status/1889824190041358478?s=46

Got to love these players. It would have been very easy to down tools and give up.

They make us proud.

That said, we as fans should not be taking our foot off the gas in making our feelings known about those parasites in Pune. The word “parasite” was thoughtfully chosen there, as it’s the most accurate metaphor for their presence in the club that means so much to us all.

Up the Rovers, fuck the Venky’s.

Definitely a sense of Miff’s getting his excuses in as well though. The old ‘we lost because they were exceptionally good’ rather than it being assisted by his tactics. His trusty option of chucking on as many forwards as possible with no real sense of where they were going to play.

We were exceptionally good though.

Yeah, I don't think Ribeiro's gotten enough notice, which is fair enough given his quieter role, but he's really impressed me. I don't think he's put a foot wrong so far. Looks like a very solid veteran and has managed 90min in back-to-back games with no sign of flagging.

(I suspect having to scrape some cash together to bring him in as cover for Pickering made our transfer window that much more skint...)

Just a word for David Lowe. I know he has had plenty of sticky on here in the past for some unknown reason.

Just listened to his post match interview and he seems a very quiet, likeable humble guy who loves working with, and trying to improve, players. Maybe the reason he seems to stick around when managers leave is because the players love him.

Time to lay off him perhaps ?

While I can understand fan frustration with the whole organisation, it does strike me as grasping at straws when someone like Lowe gets targeted on occasion. If he puts cones in the right places, shouts at players in training at the right time, and the players like him and trust him as a confidante to vent about the manager or whatever, what's the issue?

(I've sometimes wondered the same about Benson, but at least there's a fair debate there about how we've developed keepers)

I would maybe add Benson to that list too, Johnson I think gets a pass because of his playing history with Rovers, but it seems that all 3 offer something to the coaching set up

I'm one of those and this is a fair comment. Comes across well there.

Hard to see how Crozier Durberry even makes the bench when the injured players are back

The lad has a bit of talent but at this stage in his career he is just too lightweight and the games pass him by when Ohashi is back he won't get a look inn

Could not be happier to be proven wrong last night. Seeing the starting XI I felt there would be no other outcome than a comfortable West Brom win, but this group of players has shown me yet again that they are up for the fight.

Gueye was brilliant. What is that, 4 goals in 7 games for him now? Something like that anyway. He is well in form and looking like a real threat. He's come a long way from earlier in the season.

He’d be the one disappointment last night (outside of Batth’s injury) he just looks like a poor player to me, far too weak.

He had a great chance to play in Mak for a chance at the hat trick but was easily outpaced and out muscled
