I think he was beaten by the toe-poke nature of the shot, it took him by surprise, but yes he should have saved that. Only an excellent GK saves the second goal - that was rifled into the side netting. 

He didn't come for the long punt by their GK, assuming Forshaw / Woodrow (whichever one it was who was tracking back) was going to deal with it. When the outfield player just stopped running (a mistake on their part) he had to come and deal with it.

You saw how far out of his net he was moments later dealing with a similar situation - he wasn't taking any chances the second time round, so at least he shows the capacity to learn.

To put things into perspective Wolves striker Cuhna is valued at just less than our entire squad

Also, just on the disallowed goal. It's worth remembering situations like that when people are going on about the evils of VAR (and video tech in sport generally). Overall it helps much more than it hinders.

We will get Sigurdsson off of the wage bill this summer and likely give up on the Cantwell experiment at some point over the next 18 months and trim wages further. You then take the Dennis wages off of the wage bill and we will be looking at a much lower spend next year compared with this. 

As history has also shown, every couple of years we will get an academy talent through who will be worth 2/3m+.

I'm not advocating this approach, but I don't think the club is going to go out of business. 

You can pick out individual players across the board to sell - but no club at this level can operate like we've been asked to for the last two years.

Nobody covers the hole in their budget (after tv / ticket / merchandise money) by selling assets, especially when you refuse to re-invest any of those proceeds. Owners have to put their hands in their pockets or the team gets significantly weaker. 

The Academy is very good (although it doesn't produce many 'great' players sadly) and has kept the club alive during their reign of terror (the percentage of minutes we've given to Academy graduates over the last few years has been unsustainable), but they're not going to fund the club too. Not unless you unearth an Adam Wharton every two years (which would lead to it's own frustrations).

Rodon at Leeds cost more to buy than we've spent on transfers assembling our entire squad (granted Kargbo might just ruin this now, depending on what his official price was).

At times the difference in quality was stark but it was to be expected given the value of the Wolves team against ours. I was quite impressed by the three debutants of whom Dennis and Kargbo have us something completely different with their movement and pace. Incidentally the leaving of players up from an opponents corner is something I've been crying out for and today if Kargbo had been on the ball instead of Cozier-Duberry he would have been in on goal. 

There were some good performances particularly defensively with Hyam and Batth. The midfield two were okay and more often than not looked to get us on the front foot when possible. Once again Cantwell was a huge disappointment. His languid style gives the impression of not giving a toss and at times he is so weak and almost feeble. My biggest frustration with him is how often he loses the ball or gives it away. If I was playing in the same team his attitude would annoy the life out of me. 

The bigger picture however is trying to keep our manager.

I'm not being positive about it, but it depends what you define as 'operate'.

I think we could live out some very depressing Championship seasons for quite a while. We will always have enough pull to get the odd decent loan and free agent signing and to put together squads that are OK for this level.

Now, things could very easily go wrong and I don't see how we recover in League One in our current state, but I don't think we are guaranteed to go down over the next 2/3 seasons.

Come to the conclusion Cantwell is a luxury who brings little to the table.

Feeble is the word for how he lost the ball leading to their first goal, really pathetic.

As opposed to Eyal Berkovich who was a luxury player also. But happened to be very good at it.

With Var, the Hyam goal would have stood and the penalty shout looked at.

I doubt we would have got the clear and obvious error reversal of the decision but equally had the penalty been given, VAR wouldn't have deemed that a clear and obvious error the other way either.

All things considered, a decent run out giving some players important minutes.

Dennis and Kargbo especially, looked like they could impact the first 11. If we could get the first choice back 7 defensive players  fit and playing like they were, , we might yet have a look in.

Bottom club Plymouth 13 minutes away from beating Liverpool. Shows what's possible when you put the effort in.

A good decent performance from us. We have a clear goal ruled offside from Hyam and the day could have been very different result. 

We created some good chances and didn't take them. 

Karbgo looked a good threat from the left and looks like he can impact the game straight away. Dennis did well but ffs get in the box more. 

Toth was awful until the 10 mins of the game. Failing to see why we signed him. ACD was awful aswell. 

But you got the sense around the fans where I was sat in the Jack Walker upper wing that there is alot of disappointment about Eustace possible going and the way he response to the fans chanting his name at full time as he walked around the pitch at full time. Chatted with a couple of fans around it and what we should do next.

Yep. I'm sure Plymouth supporters will remember that one forever. It will really soften the blow of relegation to League One.

What did I enjoy more? Blake scoring at Liverpool or Jansen scoring at Preston? Tough one.
