Gerrard would be rock bottom of my list.

Not sure he can take a job anyway currently, his bank account is now full from his recent endeavour playing a pretty insignificant role laundering the reputation of the Saudi regime.

No thanks.

I wanted Gerrard when JDT went to shit. Very ambitious man and would be an attractive name for the club. I understand the concerns but would put bums on seats and be an exciting one at least.

If he is a very ambitious man then he won't want to work with our owners and board.

If he was offered it he would only be willing to come here until the end of the season  if a deal was announced which was longer than that then he would almost certainly have a break clause like Lambert

Gerrard name as a player will mean he will get offers again(even tho been pretty poor/mediocre since Rangers)

With the contract situation and the lack of clarity over future plans, nobody who feels they can get a job at this level is going to sign a 2 or 3 year deal here

I guess one hidden benefit of Gerrard would be: when the Venky's inevitably fuck him of with false promises, his profile is likely to draw significant attention to the madness in the event of a resignation

Really hope that's a windup and not ITK.

Take a look at the comments section of the new Lowe interview on Facebook, pretty much every comment is saying give him the job.

I'm not against it to be fair until the end of the season. (Obviously if he takes us up give him the keys to the gaff)

The social media piece from Dolan didnt exactly scream player antipathy towards Eustace did it?

However, if they were feeling any sense of injustice against him I'd more or less guarantee that will wear off very quickly, especially if the next couple of results go South.

Then they'll be thinking "What are we doing with David in charge? We need a proper manager!"

You’re right, I’d forgotten that everything written on social media is true!

When Cantwell is chasing back in the 89th minute to put in a tackle something big has changed with that group of players.

I’m not suggesting give him the job, just do a Tony Parkes.

David Lowe is not Tony Parkes. Id say he's about as far away as its possible to get.

Personally I think the players reacted to what had happened to them this week rather than as a result of Lowe coming in per se. I think it will wear off very quickly.

We'll see, if we win the next couple then he might have something about him and it becomes increasingly hard to take it off him.

Im sure Waggott and Pasha are gagging to go down that road if they possibly can.

To borrow a famous quote

"He would say that wouldnt he" (to wind you up)

Any particular reason to suggest he's in the know on this?

Gerrard to end of the season sort of makes sense... Depends how trashed his reputation is. If he genuinely cant get a prem job then he might see it as a way to reestablish his name. Kind of risky for him if he fucks it up, but if he looks at the squad, where we are, I could see him backing himself to make a splash.

From our perspective if he just came in focusing on motivating the players and not messing around with the tactics I could see it working.

But all only possible if Gerrard wanted a 3.5 month deal, as if he talks about any long term plans we have nothing, and probably hes the wrong guy anyway.

Wouldn’t bother with Lowe, the club needs structure, the players need to see who’s going to be the next man in charge. Worries me trying to find a manager in the summer especially with all the out of contracts etc. Someone needs to come in now and persuade the club/players to sign new deals. Can see a flock of players wanting out so for me ideally get the best we can now and hopefully the club/manager can throw them a vision of what we want etc.

If David Lowe got the job I'd be genuinely worried about who would control the whistle during the pre-match 5-a-side and ball feed the shooting drill with the subs! 😬
