We knew what the problems were around the club and unleaded posts in the recruitment thread highlights what the actual problems were in recruitment.

Yet, this is attractive job and why we have over 150 applicants for the job, so people still want to come.

Why can't we sustain given this set of players have proved yourself wrong time after time.

This set of players are united and have stuck together

Don't agree, I wanted to interviewed a range of people including foreign head coaches aswell as British head coaches to see what one fits what I want in a head coach appointment which is good coach, good tactical and good man management skills.

I never said Wellens lives local actually, My comment was tongue in cheek comment. FFS

Yes I actually did some research on Wicky and actually tried to find more on him instead of saying no, no, no or who, who, who. Did you actually do some research on who Wicky was and what type of coach instead on complaining at people who actually did?

You speak about the problems in recruitment in the past tense but with the same dysfunctional setup I see no reason why things wont continue.

My point about sustainability has been taken out of context. I was saying that the West Brom game in the immediate aftermath of the embarassing way that Eustace left, it created a seige mentality and the performance was well above normal standards. We cant rely on that feeling across the rest of the season, it was relating to discussions of leaving Lowe in charge which obviously shouldnt happen.

I think alledgedly interviewing quite so many people shows they havent a clue what or who they want. Feel free to forward on these supposed articles on Wicky, if you google his name they dont come up. Either way, I dont see how a couple of articles can make him suddenly become the one you want but thats up to you.

You definitely did say Wellens lives local and it certainly didnt read as tongue in cheek but if it was, ok.

Would love Damien Duff.

Just don't think pussies like Pasha or Waggott can deal with a strong personality.

Honestly they are such little pussies.

Scared to communicate, scared to be in the spotlight.

Pathetic

Why would you love Duff? Just because he is a strong personality?

He wouldnt be mentioned if he didnt play for us.

He probably would.

Won the league of Ireland last season and his next step feels like the Championship.

Could Gerrard by our Souness?

There's a part of me thinks he could then another part that thinks bit like the likes of Roy Keane, they are just not tactful and caressing enough for the modern day player... ie players and people these days need loads of carrot with a tiny bit of stick..  wheras 15yrs + back you could get away with way more stick..

it`s a massive step up from the irish league (about the standard of the conference north) to the second division in england.he might well turn to be great for us but not sure he`s the best choice at this crucial time of the season,i would`nt be averse to him getting the job any other time

It’s L1/L2 level no need to be patronising.

Shamrock Rovers for example held their own against top division teams in Europe (beat Molde, draws with Rapid Vienna and APOEL).

Wouldn’t see similar comments for a manager in the Norwegian, Austrian or Greek top divisions.

But I do agree with the rest of the post 👍

Not at all but read unleaded posts and the head coach should have say in transfers but the recruitment department haven't done that bad over this summer and the head coach should have a say on the target from the Shortlist. Before that not really involved

Type in google this raphael wicky management style and articles appear. Not rocket science is it?.

I want to interview him and see what he get to say. Did well at Young boys Fc in Switzerland.

everything from you is no, no and no.

what wrong with interviewing 6-10 head coaches and seeing who plans fits with the club and fit with the club management structure

I know he lived in Manchester when he was part of United youth game. Now? No idea. Is Leyton Orient in Manchester now?

I'm not saying I do but I would say keep an open mind and if he interviews well and the prefer candidate..

Is being an ex Rovers player such a problem? If so why?

Well I listed 3 games from 5 or 6 in Europe this season so not a one off.
You implied Chorley would give them a game.

Like I said, It wouldn’t even be a conversation if we were linked to some hipster manager in European leagues like Austria, Greece, Scandinavia.

I have little interest in the managerial appointment to be honest, the club is setup to fail and will continue to do so until the owners sod off.

But if I was to choose anyone, I’d bring Gerrard in His spell at Ibrox was superb, a club at the time in turmoil, granted with a better budget, but he broke the Celtic grip on Scottish football for a short time.

Nah, he’d somehow relegate both managing one of them.

Obviously being a former Rover player isnt a PROBLEM. I never said that. I just dont think that a playing career here over 20 years ago should have any bearing on the decision. Its a huge step up from the Irish league.

I'd take Duffer over a lot of the names mentioned, but maybe that's just me with my nostalgia tinted glasses on.

It is the kind of thing the club would do at this point though, for sure. Bring in a fans favourite to stave off any anger in the short term, especially as this lot never think long term anyway!

Would like us to poach Mousinho from Pompey, he’s done good work there from both strong and weak starting positions and seems to be flexible in how he wants his team to play. Most importantly, he’s on his way up and has momentum in his career.
