A promotion with another “significant investment” level transfer window, (that would pretty much guarantee subsequent relegation), would probably give them all of their money back.

The outcome is the same either way, so it doesn't really matter, their actions (or lack of) holding the club back and will forever more. This is my take on it tbf.

Now, move along there, and don't stop your happy clapping as you go 😞 Instead of answering the lad, you go on a childish personal attack. It's really not on. People state with informed certainty that the owners and management don't want promotion. But when asked why, they cannot formulate a decent argument. We have just signed six players adding to outgoings and weekly wages. Too little too late lots of people cried. But we were in no danger of relegation. If they didn't want promotion they would have signed nobody. But don't let logic or facts get in your way.

You will not find a more vociferous opponent of Venkys than me I can tell you that. My question was clearly a genuine one, what is their motivation for keeping us in this never ending cycle of nothingness? I think you may need to calm down.

They are delighted to hear from Suhail that we don’t need as much money these days I like your posts on this subject. Far less emotive than many. I largely agree with the above. But losing 10 million or more a year isn't cheering anyone up. There may well be an element of pride in decision making, but more so i think there is an inability to change things for the better. Chucking money at it hasn't worked. Different players, advisors, managers, consultants hasn't worked. There is not one person on this forum that can document a plan guaranteeing we get promotion within 2,3, 5 or 10 years. Not one. So how do we expect the Venkys to know how to get us promoted? Just because they don't know, doesn't mean they don't want. 1 hour ago, Herbie6590 said: That it costs less to run a Championship club…which it does. It's always been that way. It's very difficult to get out. Even when we were the richest under Uncle Jack we only wriggled into the play offs. Look at Luton this year awash with cash. They don't know how to get out of the division it's as simple as that.

Obviously the main thing is quality but it doesnt suggest that they anticipated what to do when Eustace was no longer here. It does also matter though when the decision is made. We only have 13 games left and are in mid February so we need to make a decision soon. You like with transfers were asking for a decision to be made soon. Because you know that isnt likely you are changing to justify it. And how do you know that the decision lies with Gestede and Owen? I don't see what the problem is interviewing candidates to find a new head coach. We need to make the right appointment, yes we all know how many games are left thanks. I honestly don't know when a decision will be make, we could appoint someone tomorrow or Tuesday for all we know. Just my opinion of who will do the interviews and then give their recommendation to Pasha/Waggott to finalise the deal 2 hours ago, JHRover said: A club in our position with a PL slot up for grabs within the next 3-4 months and having had a clearly unhappy / disgruntled manager since the start of the season should have a clear plan and idea of what to do next. We're now 10 days on from Eustace speaking to Derby and still doing 'interviews' and if Nixon's list is remotely accurate it seems there is very little method to it other than a ragtag collection of desperate names and friendly faces of Waggott/Gestede. A shambles. They're determined to fritter away the opportunity Eustace has left us with. We had over 150 applicants so conducting interviews very logically and find the right head coach appointment. Lowe is doing a good job at the minute Eustace officially got permission on Monday Evening yet still took over 2 days to formalise that deal 1 hour ago, roversfan99 said: The chances of promotion are very slim, regardless of optimism/pessimism. Ricceh
I just don't understand it. You didn't think we would win the last 2 games but we did. I never said there is a problem interviewing candidates. I dont know why you keep saying that. Obviously you interview potential head coaches. I am saying there is a problem with not seemingly having a succession plan and reportedly (only reports) interviewing so many people as it suggests that you dont have a clue what you want. And chaddy, my point had nothing to do with having faith, writing us off, being negative. It was purely that the probability of us being 2 of 8 or 9 teams to finish 4th or 6th multiplied by then being the best of 4 teams in the play offs is very small. Nothing to do with opinions or writing anyone off. We are considerably more likely to be a Championship side next year compared to a Premier League side. You cant argue with that.

They don't know how to get out of the division it's as simple as that. I think when they took over they were very naive and didn't realise what they'd walked into. As has been pointed out, the club's financials won't move the dial in Pune and with the new laws it's a pain to put money in anyway. The club represents a small part of their portfolio, they're either keeping hold incase they can recoup £100m+ from promotion or out of pride. Otherwise, they don't care and are happy to keep the club simmering on the back burner. They're not breaking their backs trying to build the club. I don't accept the argument "big names sit in the Championship for years" - most of the division has some level of financial constraint, mismanagement or whatever. The fact Rovers are fifth shows how poor the standard of club management is. If you have a plan and a reasonable fanbase, most clubs can do well in this division (eg Barnsley in the POs and Luton). Leeds struggled for years because they didn't have a plan and the financials weren't right. With a plan and a modicum of investment, Rovers should have made the play offs *ONCE* after 13 years in the division and given the positions we've been in come the new year over the years. The owners simply don't care enough to go that extra mile, spend a few extra million here and there, sweet talk a top manager, upgrade the club off the pitch etc. 'The plan' (if there is one) is to do the bare minimum and just hope the club stumbles into the POs one day by weight of numbers.

Hannoverover
I would spend Eustace's 750k on the best coaching set up we can get for 13 games, with millions in a promotion bonus if they succeed. Not too much to lose if they fail. The whole squad needs rebuilding in the summer anyway and this can then be done with a longer term coaching setup.
Inferi
If the clowns in charge actually give the job to Boateng, it would be a malicious appointment. Has Waggott identified him as spineless and cheap so he'll do? Him and Boa Morte stand out like a sore thumb among the other names on the odds list.
