Can see the logic, but I disagree. An underappreciated problem we face is that we're down three first team coaches, not just Eustace, so I'm not sure it's realistic for us to keep carrying on without standards slipping somewhere. That's before we get onto the question of whether those who remain are good enough.

I think the longer we carry on, the less likely any siege mentality will compensate for not having a proper coaching set up, so whilst getting someone in by Swansea isn't essential, I wouldn't leave it until the summer either.

It's worked for 2 games when the players are busting a gut to prove a point to Eustace. Lose the next 2 and I suspect no one will be saying he should get the job until the end of the season.

Wouldn't be the right decision imo.

Gerrard would never come here knowing our reputation but if he did, it would be too much  spotlight on the Board/Owners/Swag etc. so for that reason it won't happen.

There's a reason Lowe is a career  first team coach,it's because he isn't permanent manager material.It would be a big mistake to give it to him full time.

If we get a manger now it should be half decent, in the summer with all the players going back, back to square 1 in the championship we’ll look ALOT less attractive.

That, and for a modest outlay, we could get in someone with skills and experience who could have an immediate impact and motivation. Lowe is perfectly capable mind.

Yup, there's probably a 10% chance we go up. We're not getting a good manager long term now, nor are we getting one in the summer if we stay in the division. Without breaking the bank, it's time for a short term shot in the arm to try our best to get promoted, then re-evaluate.

Otherwise, it could be a long time before the club's given a position like this again.

He did well for a while there but looks at the quality of players he had in the squad. Unbelievable.

O'Neil would at least be a logical appointment based on past performance. Granted he hasn't managed at this level or with lunatic owners and management but he's clearly an intelligent well thought of manager, you don't get two cracks in two years at PL clubs if you don't have something about you.

Not my first choice and I'm not convinced he will be better than JDT or Eustace (and that's the only thing we should be aiming for if we are a serious club) but he's head and shoulders above the likes of Boateng, Boa Morte, Wellens, even some of the others like Carsley, Duff, Lowe and Karanka in the betting odds list.

I'm not even particularly confident he'd take it, it will be a massive come down financially and structurally to what he has been used to and I'm sure after his difficulties at Wolves and being ruthlessly sacked at Bournemouth he might fancy waiting for a serious job to come up with long term prospects, which nobody will be getting at Ewood.

If he's in the running it really wouldn't surprise me to see a summer termination clause, I'd be amazed if any manager would commit to 2-3 years of this without some serious assurances on future plans. If I was him or anyone else with any decent pedigree I'd be looking at the JDT and Eustace debacles and planning accordingly.
