We don't even know if Karanka is in the final interview lists. I think we see an appointment in the couple of days. We all have our all choices, and lets first see who we appoint before we go OTT. Torgeir
If Karanka is so bad then Gestede will know that from working under him. He was heavily linked to this job a year ago, and again now. Don't know how some of you can say this candidate is Gestede's and this candidate is Waggott's...

The reason Karanka appears so “bad” is he’s failed at Forest, Birmingham then Granada. I don’t mind a manager who has failed at a club, but to fail at 3 on the bounce is very Coyle-esque. With 150 applicants he really shouldn’t be the outstanding candidate. Based on his recent record, he’d have to be one hell of a charmer in his interview to get it. One job, league of Ireland FFS Might as well keep David Lowe in place. I’d rather give him a shot after winning the league, knowing he is a vocal manager about shite going on around him, than the likes of Karanka, Ismael etc. His next job will be the Championship, whether it’s us or someone else. Outside of Cooper nobody fills me with much hope. I’d take a punt on someone up and coming like Duff / Carsley after that rather than some of the other dross

We don’t know anything because we are not employed by rovers or part of the interview process. But he’s not managed in the UK since 2021 after failing badly at Brum. Due to the supposed vast number of possible candidates, the fact that our very inexperienced director of football appears to have green lighted interviewing his former manager who gave him one of his biggest move in professional football is leading to speculation. B16Rover
With each turning manager of late has come a tag line - project, development then experience. All have them in turn been offered the stats quo and mediocrity as a constant. Maybe this is a big brain move. Go for someone mediocre and happy to maintain the status quo - and inadvertently get a developing project leading to a great experience?

We don't know the circumstances and not the full list over candidates that are still in the process. Rudy joined Boro 2 January 2017 and Karanka left 16 March 2017. However IF Karanka got it I’d be very disappointed, and I would think the relationship made when signing Gestede back in 2017 is a big part of the reason he would be given the job. Polky
Aitor Karanka will fit the bill in terms of style of play and our current squad ability. Whilst his philosophy is close to Eustace’s with a defensive first approach, it’s not an appointment to get excited about.
Hi Mack
I can’t believe people want Warnock…..he started getting found out 5/6 years ago. Football has changed massively since he was last successful. O’Neill, Cooper and Edwards would be more suited to the position we are in (obviously in my opinion). I would rather keep Lowe than many that that been mentioned.
Bbrovers2288
Boa morte would just be absolutely brainless, think he would be at the absolute bottom of the list for me if O’Neill and cooper are off the table , next best for me would be Edward’s or ismael
RevidgeBlue
Why do we seem to conduct our managerial searches as though we're trying to hire a shelf stacker at Tesco? May be wrong but it seems to me that most Clubs at our sort of level identify who they want and just go out and get them.

islander200
At Boro Karanka walked out , was unhappy the club had signed Jordan Rhodes. He wanted Ross McCormick(Allegedly), and Boro had to persuade him to come back At Forest he also fell out with the board over transfers Added to his very poor recent record it would be a very poor decision to bring him here Edited February 20 by islander200
