New manager wishlist

Sw: We look in real danger of going up to the premiership the way we are going!

Pasha: Madam will be furious, they’ll then be forced to spend money on players and increase the wage bill considerably. This simply will not do.
Sw: Well we have done our best to try and scupper the chances by manipulating JE’s departure, but that bas***d Lowe has them playing even better.

Pasha: I blame the team spirit, what can we do?

Sw: Well I think that we should employ a manager who doesn’t like to play good football and is a complete bast**d to his players, that way we totally destroy the team spirit. We then should be safely in 11th place by Easter at the latest. But who should we get?

Ruddy: I know just the fella, here hold my pint. (On telephone) “hi Aitor how are you doing mate, up to anything at the moment? No, excellent, I’ve got excellent news for you, meet me at the Savoy as soon as you arrive in London.

Sw: Well that’s a job done, looks like our fat bonuses are in the bag!

Pasha: Well that was a close call, we can’t allow it to get this close again. Start working on plans to piss Karanka off so that he walks in the summer.
All: Agreed

Hope this is right but if so someone better tell Jackson then.

Its only yesterday afternoon he was stating with a fair degree of certainty that Karanka had been interviewed and was due back for a second round of talks!

Correct, and even if it's getting  a bit tired, a tour round Brockhall would still be the major attraction for aspiring managers?

Id imagine that Venky's input aside, Waghail think they'll be able to keep things under wraps easier by conducting interviews off site.

Why see the wonderful facilities at Brockhall when you can have a sumptious lunch at the Savoy in relative seclusion?

So much easier to pull the wool over a hungry manager's eyes. You can see why the dream team choose Fockhall over Brockhall.

Not what he said yesterday, the exact opposite in fact.

To his credit he was pretty definitive about Gary O’Neil having had the conversation but about Karanka it was “thought to be amongst” the candidates, so not quite definitive.

I will say that there’s someone at Rovers watching us/Twitter get riled up and stepping in with an off-the-record line to squash the rumour. Jackson’s take on it is based on the same rumours.

Interesting, because who actually cares if the candidates are leaked? We want to know, of course and certainly in-work managers wouldn’t want an employer to know, but there will be out-of-work managers that the club could subtly mention to the LT and choose not to, creating an information vacuum and the kind of thing we’re currently experiencing.

It shouldn’t take this long to hire someone, really, but especially when we could be waiting however long for Venkys to check their spam to approve it.

So if that were the case, you'd expect JE to be involved in transfer conversations. Unlike what has been reported by some 'journalists'.

I suspect he was…but more along the lines of “heres what we can afford…” as opposed to “who would you like…”

i don`t know why the telegraph employ jackson,as a "journalist he is`nt much use,has no contacts and never comes up with interesting news, all he does is browse the net and copy/paste whats he read" i think it`s pretty clear he won`t be getting a job at the major publications anytime soon

on our latest manager,im`e leaning towards a proper left field appointment, someone we`ve never heard of

"Understood" is as definitive as anyone at the LT actually gets before something's actually happened. That way they're never technically wrong even if their information is completely incorrect.

Without splitting hairs over the degree of certainty, he was fairly clear yesterday, he thought O Neil had held talks but didn't know if he still retained an interest and he thought Karanka was returning for a second round of talks.

So if today's report is correct, he doesnt have a clue what's happening as regards O Neil either way and was completely wrong about Karanka.

About as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Why wouldn't you just contact O Neil or his representatives?

I agree someone from Rovers has probably acted to nip the Karanka bandwagon in the bud before the entire fanbase had a complete meltdown.

Meanwhile in the Savoy, unbeknown to those at Ewood, "Hello Aitor. My name is Suhail"

Everyone relieved it’s not going to be Karanka.. we’ve just now got to hope it’s not Boa Morte and Boateng too 🙏😂

No O’Neill.. he was a favourite of mine so not sure who else I want now.. Hoping there’s some movement over the weekend on this so they can have a full week with the players before Norwich.

Not an itk but I'm hearing Gerrard to be announced monday.

Don't shoot me, just passing something on...

Saw a random post that said the same on Facebook - wonder if there’s something in it or just another rumour going round

I just can’t see this. He’s sat in Doha at the moment isn’t he? I’m quite sure if we’d interviewed him this week he wouldn’t have bothered flying back over there for a bloody tennis match or whatever it is…. In fact, if he is appointed I’d be a bit miffed. I’d expect him to be sat in Swansea tomorrow watching the game. It wouldn’t be a very good start IMO

You never know!

He might go down into the dugout and claim he won the game
