I just can’t see this. He’s sat in Doha at the moment isn’t he? I’m quite sure if we’d interviewed him this week he wouldn’t have bothered flying back over there for a bloody tennis match or whatever it is…. In fact, if he is appointed I’d be a bit miffed. I’d expect him to be sat in Swansea tomorrow watching the game. It wouldn’t be a very good start IMO

Im watching Jack Draper v Lehecka from Doha now.

Haven't spotted Gerrard in the somewhat sparse crowd yet!

Im with you though. I want that to happen so it almost certainly won't.

Hope this is right but if so someone better tell Jackson then.

Its only yesterday afternoon he was stating with a fair degree of certainty that Karanka had been interviewed and was due back for a second round of talks!

Yes Jackson dd, so clearly the club have moved quickly to dismiss the Karanka's rumours quickly cos of the supporters based reaction to them.

i don`t know why the telegraph employ jackson,as a "journalist he is`nt much use,has no contacts and never comes up with interesting news, all he does is browse the net and copy/paste whats he read" i think it`s pretty clear he won`t be getting a job at the major publications anytime soon

on our latest manager,im`e leaning towards a proper left field appointment, someone we`ve never heard of

What do you expect from a local journalist to be honest? Waggott and Gestede don't communicate with local journalists, so what do you expect?

Not an itk but I'm hearing Gerrard to be announced monday.

Don't shoot me, just passing something on...

can't see Gerrard coming here.

Wouldn't he have to pay massive taxes on his income from Saudi if he works in UK before April?

Yep, pretty much all the people I know are aware that we have terrible owners and a terrible board.

wasn't the point been made. The point was about the angry and annoyed at Eustace leaving and his comments.

Karanka would be an appointment whereby I havent seen anyone at all respond positively to the possibility of it happening. You seem happy with a vast majority of the underwhelming list of linked managers and even you arent fond of this potential appointment.

IF it is him appointed, imagine how bad the other 149 or whatever candidates that supposedly applied must be if hes considered the best.

Already gave my opinion on Karanka.

I don't see O'Neil, Edwards, Ismael, Duff and Wicky has underwhelming at all, But I would ask you would like instead? any names you like and think this is the candidate to move us forward and get a playoff place and promotion?

Are you still relaxed about the upcoming managerial appointment?

I think he would probably be keen and would like the job for a number of reasons but moving back to the U.K. before end of current tax year will probably cost him millions from his tax free Saudi earnings / severance. For that reason alone, I think it is a total non runner.

So, if we are interested in him & he in us, (BIG IF), maybe a solution would be for Lowe to continue to the end of the season, and then Gerrard takes over?

On a separate note, for the potential dangers of appointing someone on the evidence of a brief, successful spell as a caretaker manager, see R Van Nistelrooy.

Yes

I think Eustace stood the best chance but sadly we fucked another manager around.

And I dont know anyone who cares much about Eustace's comments in comparison with the real problems.

The names linked are underwhelming in my opinion. O'Neil, given my opinion on him before he was linked here. Ismael, failed at West Brom and Watford as well as a brief spell at Besiktas since that one good season at Barnsley. Edwards was the one I wouldn't mind but even he isnt on par with Eustace.

People like Wicky, I dont know enough about to endorse them or be excited based on an article or two about them.

Eustace, could have been in line for the Leicester job if he had hung around a bit longer...

RVN won't reign long..

Says who?

And if correct, why was Waggott picking managers ahead of someone paid to be Director of Football?

Maybe the same will be happening again with Gestede?

was reported by Jackson that Waggott was the one behind the Eustace move not GB.

If you were the owner or CEO of Rovers and you wanted to appoint a certain head coach you wouldn't do cos you had a Director of football there? really?

I think Gestede is in line with Pasha and Waggott. Gestede was here for 5 months working behind the scenes until he was appointed as head of football operations

No chance of Gerrard.

Now Karanka isn't happening, I'm going Ismail or Lowe.

I started reading the comments of the LT article on Karanka

Tbf not as bad as thought

Saw this one below and I gotta agree some what. It's a poisoned chalice.

New manager doesn't guarantee we got top 6 which could be horrible but equally neither could sticking with the same regime. It's an awful situation these clowns have got us in yet again

If you was a manager looking for new work would you take the job now or take it at the end of the season. As sure as eggs are eggs it’s just a win lose situation with no in between at all. If they come in now and fail play offs all of us will be moaning and saying we should have stuck with what we had but more importantly from their perspective their reputation is on a hiding to nothing when we are in the ply offs. We will all only say we should have kept with DL. Obviously if they get us to the play offs then that is different again but as a new manager I think I would be looking at season end perhaps as it’s a mass responsibility on their shoulders. The good old saying is don’t upset the apple cart and change things that ain’t broken. I honestly don’t think there is a right or wrong solution here.

Doesn't he have to pay them anyway?

I'm sure I read that Jordan Henderson needed to spend two years in Saudi to avoid paying a huge amount of tax on his earnings.

Its was Eustace who left us in a playoff place for Derby in relegation places

Eustace lied to the fans when first Derby contact was made. You not concerned by that?

Think the fans on Saturday make their feelings know about Eustace moved to Derby

Yes we know what the problems are but we were in playoff place and I'm disappointed he not see the season through then leave if he wanted.

So far Lowe and the rest of the staff plus the players have step up and got us back to back wins, couldn't asked anymore from them.
