What happens if the next head coach is someone we know little about, how can you be critical and surely you need to judge on results and performances? I said we need a appointment by Tuesday to allow the new head coach 3 training sessions with the players panic? not at all, Just you trying to stir that pot yet again So if no one is confirmed by Tuesday youll be annoyed? Fine.

He'd galvanise the lads, who presumably all grew up idolising him and the media spotlight would be firmly on the club - which would be helpful for the fans and our plight. His Rangers record was exemplary so his pedigree at our level i think is assured. He's the best chance we have of the playoffs this season. For all those reasons Waggott probably won't be keen obviously but he's far and away the best choice imo. I think we slip off into the abyss in the summer. It does feel very ominous about what’s to come after this season (assuming we don’t go up). JDT debacle, next manager leaving us for relegation, 2nd biggest net profit in the whole league to Swansea, only getting free transfers and loans, half the squad out of contract in 6/12/18 months. Add in that Ewood is rotting - visibly so upsetting This club is going to the pits if it doesn’t scramble a promotion this year, or at least soon. Pains me to see a strange bunch defend every (wrong) decision this club makes Edited February 22 by superniko

Pains me to see a strange bunch defend every (wrong) decision this club makes My new Director, bless her, knows I have a season ticket and always enquires about how Rovers got on over the weekend as a means of making a connection with me. I never quite know what to say. I used to be SO proud of being a Rovers fan. Now you look at the state of Ewood, the McGuire / Brierley / O'Brien / Eustace / JDT public debacles and just cry at what we've sunk to. We've been run into the ground. chaddyrovers
I'm Surprised we are offering that much in wages. If people aren't interested cos of wages being offered and ignoring the opportunity to get a playoff place and promote, it's best not to appoint them.

If people aren't interested cos of wages being offered and ignoring the opportunity to get a playoff place and promote, it's best not to appoint them. I read a report a few months ago which stated the average salary for a Championship manager/head coach 3 years ago was £800,000! Your manager/head coach makes or breaks a club and when you have underperforming players, or players simply not up to scratch, earning significantly more than the manager/head coach therein lies an issue. In an earlier post, I advocated making a relatively 'stellar' appointment on a 3 month contract for £300k with a £1million promotion bonus in order to try and reach the promised land because let's face it, I think the club is fecked if we don't get up this season. IMO, all the evidence just doubly underlines how useless and incompetent Waggott, Suhail and Gestede are. Edited February 23 by Mercer
roversfan99
Also says that Owen being involved "boosts Lowe's chances of staying in charge." So not offering a competitive wage and might even just appoint the coach. What a club. Surprised Klopp isnt interested and willing to work for free. Its not a job being offered, who needs money when theres a promotion chance, surely people queueing round the block to do it for free.

If people aren't interested cos of wages being offered and ignoring the opportunity to get a playoff place and promote, it's best not to appoint them. Assuming that the figures quoted by Nixon is correct, £600K/year on wages is about £11,500/week That is not much for a Championship manager/head coach position We also offer very low wages (in comparison to the majority of the Championship) Whilst we as fans think £15K/week is huge (and it is in comparison to normal life), the reality is that an average to good Championship player or Manager can easily ask for £20K-£30K/week, and get it. Which is why Rovers struggle to agree new contracts for our top, established performers
RoversClitheroe
Absolutely embarrassing. As I thought, Rovers not rushing to appoint a head coach. All in the hope I am assuming to not get playoffs.
