Also his work permit from Watford time in charge is still valid. Also says Ismael will only bring a couple of backroom staff with him and all of them are available.

Very convenient that he won't be demanding any more than 2 staff (the number of slots freed up by Eustace's staff leaving) and thus ensuring that Lowe/Benson/Johnson are secured through the next managerial regime (unless they opt to move elsewhere).

Good work if you can get it.

I suspect the fact that Ismael only wants to bring 2 with him and that they are available (free) has helped him land the job. Whereas when we could have had Farke but wouldn't accede to his staff demands.

How many does he normally take with him?

Most head coaches bring 1 or 2 staff with them. They don't have entire staff to bring with them.

They'll still be here when we finally turn the lights out.

Incredible they've lasted so long.

Unsure, I think I said initially he was a hoof ball man, and my Barnsley mate didn't rate him

Seems strange considering that he managed to get them into the play offs which was very impressive. Why doesnt he rate him? Purely on style?

From what I have seen, its West Brom and Watford fans who dont rate him. He had really strong squads and after a decent start things soon went sour.

I think you put up his record cropped from wikipedia.

No, just the best players we have.

No announcement yet from the club. Means all this noise is pure speculation, and hot air.

Boring as fuck. But hardly surprising, given the track record (dreadful), capability (i.e. none) and respect for the fan base (you having a laugh?) evident in the actual behaviour of the so-called management layer at our club.

Morons. Disingenuous, cretinous morons.

The legacy of Jack Walker, and ALL who worked their hearts and souls for the benefit of Blackburn Rovers before him deserve better.

No smoke over the Vatican, and when there is, it won't be to announce the installation of a plausible candidate, but another sodding deluded patsy. You might as well give the job to Chaddy. At least we'd have someone with a modicum of interest in the club doing well, for a change. And no, Chris, I am not having a go at you, gawd bless your blue and white heart. I'm simply pointing out that we are holding our breath for news, when we all know that what will be floated out by the bloaty bloke and Mr Hides in the Shitting Shadows will be less than impressive.

Come on, you downtrodden blues. Let's be avin ye..smoke over the vatican.

Skewed by two spells with Wolfsburg’s second team.
I’m more interested in his stats at WBA and Watford.

Even then , they are admittedly not too bad.

Lets see what happens.

The chances are , one way or another, that he won’t be here long, anyway.

I’m no Ismael fanboy. I don’t genuinely know how his teams play…

But, I really liked that Barnsley team that he had that season including Brittain, Callum Styles and Woodrow. I mentioned last season that I thought there were similarities to that Barnsley team and what McKenna was doing at Ipswich. A fast, ‘killer’ type of game plan. There’s no doubt he did a brilliant job at Barnsley in motivating a group of underdogs, on a small budget, to to perform. Sound familiar.

Also, you can look at his perceived ‘failures’ at Watford and West Brom. Firstly, you can be fired for nothing at Watford, literally nothing. They’re arguably a worse run club than ours. Secondly, West Brom sacked Ismael when he had them 6th and are currently out of the top 6 and managed by Mowbray!? Who none of us would want back.

fwiw - I think there’s potentially a very good manager in Ismael. We would’ve been delighted with him at the end of that season he had with Barnsley. The question is, is Rovers the right environment now? I would say Waggott and Suhail are banking on him being a bit more Barnsley, than Watford or West Brom.

Lets see!

So Nixon reckons we are giving him a 3 year deal.

I don't see the point of this. Why are we giving a manager with a patchy record a long contract when our entire squad is out within the next 15 months?

I would much prefer a deal until 2026 and an option beyond that if things have gone well.

So (if it's him) we previously had a very successful Head Coach whose contract expired in 16 months.

We refused to extend his deal and instead are reportedly giving this guy, (who could be great or could be awful) a 3 year deal.

Makes sense.

No guarantee he'll maintain the standard set by Eustace but I assume he's agreed to do it for less.

Happy Days in Waghail world.

I'd take Ismael at this point purely because the whole situation has escalated the amount of shite Chaddy is posting.

For anyone massively against Ismael, there's a glimmer of hope for you. He lasted a week in Greece as he fell out with the club president, Venkys and King rat could probably beat that record so we may only see him in charge for a few days 👍

Absolutely right.

This is a guy who has been out of work for almost 12 months.

A 3 year contract is not necessary - 'this is the deal, take it or leave it' should have been our stance.

Sadly, IMO, Ewood is a nous free zone where the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

12 months? Wasn’t he only sacked by West Brom this season?

aah, Corberan was sacked this season, my bad.
