Wagner got Huddersfield promoted and Norwich into the playoffs during his 2 spells in the championship.

Ismael got Barnsley into the playoffs and also managed WBA and Watford were he didn't see a full season out.

The Huddersfield promotion was long ago and like with Karanka and Middlesbrough is distant history now.

That Norwich side underachieved under Wagner. Blessed with parachute riches and a strong squad and totally unconvincing.

Ismael 'didn't see a full season out' because his results were awful at both WBA and Watford.

I said I would be happy with Ismael being appointing here as head coach. Also mentioned Wagner name on the 11th Feb about being candidates for the job. Would be happy with either. Hopefully a quick appointment can be made by Tuesday so it gives them 3 days on the training pitch.

Barnsley fans don't rate him.

Hoof ball is his style of play.

Do they not? Where is that from? Surely they are the only ones that do.

Im sure you were all for the appointment the other day?

Ismael would be a dreadful appointment. A long ball merchant who makes John Beck look like Pep. Add to that miserable spells with Watford and West Brom where he was hated by the fans tells you all you need to know.

As for Wagner? Christ. Is this really the best we can do???

They are appointments no other clubs would have made if they were 5th.

Yes we were 5th when we needed a new manager.

Tragic stuff.

Ismael being a long ball merchant doesn't put me off, we've a 6ft 5 striker who'd win an aerial duel against a totem pole

The bigger concern is he's bang average and his success at Barnsley came from squad depth

Dennis already looks like a waste of £20000 a week. Sanderson showed at Swansea why he couldn't get a game at Birmingham in L1. Woodrow done nothing yet. Forshaw barely adequate.

Nothing like writing players off when they've barely played or had one bad game.

If we're using Swansea as the barometer, the entire team looked like they'd never played the game or seen a football before.

I'm expecting a Valerian Ismael, David Wagner, cheap and free basically.

Who would I like? Kenny Dalglish and for it to be 1994 again.

Not a penny on either.

Within our budget we were always going for young and relatively unproven or experienced, done a bit but a stock fallen significantly.

Personally option 1 would be preferred.

Out of the 2 I would slightly favour Wagner but it’s not a great choice really is it

Feels like we will get an underwhelming appointment this week. Unless it is someone really left field as all the linked ones are rubbish.

Two miserably underwhelming appointments. What you get being under such self imposed financial restrictons.

Ismael had one good season at Barnsley and then has 3 failures on his CV since. Long ball merchant, tends to make the same subs after an hour (or at least did) in each game.

Wagner is in a similar boat. One good season at Huddersfield and has stunk the place out since.

Desperate choices and both massive downgrades on the manager we forced out due to the terrible ownership and running of the club.

Typical hyperbolic response from you and actually factually incorrect.

Let's take Wagner. Took Huddersfield up, then somehow managed to keep them up the following year.

Norwich, he got to the play-offs and had a 40% win percentage.

Schalke was very poor.

2nd in Swiss league also a bit meh.

However, 'one good season at Huddersfield and has stank the place out since' is clearly complete bullshit.

Not according to Jackson

According to the day before article Karanka was on the list

Blackburn Rovers' manager search with latest on interviews | Lancashire Telegraph

Aitor Karanka is thought to be amongst those who will be holding further discussions with Blackburn. The Spaniard has Championship experience, including a promotion on his CV, and manager Head of Football, Rude Gestede, at Middlesbrough.

Warner or Ismael? Christ

But if we're paying poor wages, we'll only attract poor managers.

Norwich fans saying they were in the playoffs largely through individual talent bailing him out, rather than him being a good manager.

Ismael not really done anything since leaving Barnsley.

Putting a gun to my head and its Wagner but both are uninspiring, cheap and disappointing choices.
