Obviously there was no plan in place to find a replacement for Eustace even though he wanted to leave for quite some time and had a ridiculously low release clause in his contract.

Very true , I wonder if Lowe has told them that he doesn't want the job now , cos I think their plan was to keep Lowe in situ , until the end of the season .

Last season , Eustace was appointed very quickly but there was jeopardy then .

We are not getting relegated , so there is no rush !

West Brom results in the league under Ismael:

12 wins, 9 draws and 8 defeats.

Concerningly though 4 of those defeats came in his last 6 games.

Their first defeat was not until 1st October when they lost 1-0 at Stoke, so they lost 8 times in 19 games.

This is what worries me, his initial impact usually seems to be quite positive - at WBA they went unbeaten in 10 winning 6 - but then things started to unravel quite quickly and when you consider they were fresh out of the Premier League with a pretty strong squad for this level the form they were displaying in the last 2-3 months under him was pretty terrible.

Having read that report in the Watford Observer it seems other than a purple patch in the middle it was pretty poor throughout.

I would take win 6 draw 4 in our next 10...

Both are/were awful. Andrews is the worst player I've seen in a Rovers shirt.

And in all the matches I went to I haven't heard anyone boo either of them.

Nobody has done for Forshaw but I was in the family stand back then and I could hear it for Andrews from different ends to mine

I don't want him at Rovers either, doesn't work hard enough, has created or scored very little. Not sure what the hype around him is about personally.

Cantwell's problem is he is Todd Catnwell.

If he was Tim Coldwell signed from the lower leagues then he would be an good option to come in and out of the team.

Because he's on big money and arrived with a reputation he is just a letdown.

Sorry - completely off topic.

Both have been out of work for some time, and I think that says it all.

Wagner been unemployed for 8 months

Ismael 11 months.

is that long?

Parker was out of the game for 14 months, Lampard was out of the game for 18 months. Alex Neil was out of the game for 12 months

Two thirds of the clubs in the Championship have recruited a manager in the last 11 months (all but one being within the last 8 months).

Thats a lot of jobs they’ve not been considered the best option for (although of course they may not have been interested in all of them).

If no appointment in the next 48 hours, the process will be overrunning.

Person needs to be in place to oversee training ahead of the Norwich game.

Pretty neutral on Ishmael and Wagner. Neither good nor bad.

Still suspect an unexpected name is in the frame.

Or that useless gobshites are carrying out the process (if there was one at all).

yet these were out of the manager game for 12 months or more. Parker was out of the game for 14 months, Lampard was out of the game for 18 months. Alex Neil was out of the game for 12 months

In football terms, yes it is.

I’ve not seen their names linked with many other positions.

We all want the same thing, for Rovers to do well, but the whole point of a message board is to express opinions.

If either of those two get the job, I will give them a fair chance.

We all know the real problems are further up the food chain.

you had these 3 managers/head coaches out of the games for longer than 12 months in Parker was out of the game for 14 months, Lampard was out of the game for 18 months. Alex Neil was out of the game for 12 months

You are lying in a hospital bed and the surgeon who can save your life is a 'Dingle' whose idiosyncrasy is to wear claret and blue scrub caps.

Would you allow this Dingle to save your life or would you choose to die?

Utter pointless point to me,

I don't want any dingles near our football club.

Both Ismael and Wagner have playoff place on their CV plus Wagner has a promotion from this league on his CV, and kept them up in the PL on their first season.

So I take it you would let a 'Dingle' surgeon save your life?  Just how hypocritical can you get!?

If having a play off place or promotion from this league on your cv is key criteria then we perhaps should give Coyle the gig again as he lives less than 10 minutes from Brockhall and would do the job for less than £600k!

another utter pointless reply to me.

Reading the latest LT article, I didn't realise Ismail had WBA in 5th spot when they sacked him. I suppose they expected to be higher than that though having just come back down from the premier league. Did they replace him with Steve Bruce?

The obvious concern is that he doesn't stick around long at any club, and it probably won't be long before he falls out with someone above him, so we'll probably have a another new manager / head coach thread by Christmas 😂.

Two of those three have managed in the Premier League, so were probably being more choosy before stepping back in.

Neil, I’ll grant you, but he’s another trading on fading glories.

I wouldn’t have wanted him here.

I just find it depressing that after such a convoluted process, the best we can come up with is a couple of fading stars.

I would rather we go for a left field appointment, or someone up and coming.

My overall preference was a wise, senior figure, who has been there and done it, to take us through the rest of the season.

There will be two very different scenarios at that stage, so a permanent appointment could be made accordingly.

Have you and Chaddy ever gone for a beer?

If not can you both stream it for us?

I've offered to meet up in the past with @chaddyroversfor a beer to 'chew the cud' but it's always been a resounding no!

For me, it’s the fact that both Ismael and Wagner’s managerial careers are on a downward spiral, (which was the same with Coyle).

Both have been out of work for some time, and I think that says it all.

Same with Mowbray really - he had just failed spectacularly with Coventry in League 1 ( with Waggott and Venus assisting )

Left field appointment? someone up and coming? someone like Mat Sadler then?

senior figure like Warnock or Allardyce then?
