another utter pointless reply to me.

Not really.

You don't like it when folk challenge you - you want it all your own way.

I would have taken Alex Neil here.

Left field appointment? someone up and coming? someone like Mat Sadler then?

senior figure like Warnock or Allardyce then?

Yes.

Also, as much as I’m usually wary of brining back former players, I think Duff fits into the “up and coming” category, and even those who don’t favour his appointment would whole heartedly welcome him back.

It would bring a very positive vibe into the stadium.

yes utter pointless Mercer as always.

You challenge me? making me laugh again, you should become a comedian.

You know very well my views on dingles and anything to do with that shite. You also know I am Rovers through and through, passionate Rovers and football supporter, etc.

I stopped reading anything Chaddy said many years ago. I blocked him for a while but people kept quoting him, so I put him back on, but I just skip his comments. I tried glancing at him when I started reading this site again but he's still just the same so I ignore him. I've got blood pressure tests this week so I can't read him. In fact, if I disappear till after Tuesday, you'll know it's because the manager situation is winding me up too much too

hope the blood pressure tests goes very well.

No idea why the head coach situation is winding up too much for. It was clear that after Eustace, they would appoint an Foreign head coach as his replacement and that what we have most likely to happened. All the best for next week.

Fair enough.

I think the positive vide as been at Ewood Park all season, and the last home game, very much behind David Lowe and the players, just like they were under Eustace.

I don't expect it will be any different on Saturday especially if Ismael is appointed before the game and he gets his first win as our new head coach.

I think it’s clear that a significant amount of people do not want Ismael.

I’m reading evidence of this on social media, so it’s not just on here.

If it’s an appointment that is universally welcomed, that creates a buzz and an energy.

If someone like Ismael gets it, the atmosphere is going to be flatter, and it will need the players to perform well to create the atmosphere.

David Wagner is not thought to be in the final running for the job. Whilst Ismael's main competitors have been kept under wraps, he is the current favourite to land the Ewood Park gig

So Nixon claimed it was between Ismael and Wagner but Jackson reckons Wagner isn't in the running.

Ismaels failures at West Brom and Watford are a major concern considering both teams had parachute payments. Wagner similar at Norwich.

However both did better with less money

throw in that he hasn't made it beyond a full season at Barnsley (his only real success), WBA or Watford either and it just feels like an appointment that will only last a short time

But both are in agreement that Ismael is the frontrunner. Standard Jackson stuff this, he rarely posts anything first but often confirms or debunks stuff that is already out there.

That might have been me as Braddock so that looks like a conspiracy theory on your part. I'm defending Forshaw a lot now so if I stop posting after this season you'll no doubt be making claims about that. I remember defending Andrews a lot as despite not being very good the attacks were ridiculous, like the ridicule for his pointing. Also, people booing him when he had the ball.

Nah, it was jonnolad

Nicko on his patreon account is saying we are entering the final stages now.

Is that new as of today or just the story from yesterday evening?

Honestly just want it sorted now. I it is going to be Ismail then just get him in and get on with the job.

For me, the best option would be to get a motivator in until the end of the season and then reassess.

If we don't do that, then it's irrelevant who the next manager is. While Pasha has hold of the purse strings and we are getting no funding from Pune, whoever is appointed won't make a jot of difference. Their hands are tied.

I don't want him at Rovers either, doesn't work hard enough, has created or scored very little. Not sure what the hype around him is about personally.

Nice and tidy on the ball, good skill but nothing ever comes of it.

This should have been out to bed by today, tomorrow at the latest but as we all know they di not want playoffs.  As long as maggit gets the right amounts of red and black in, keeps us in this division then he gets his ££

If they want ex Watford with a promotion on his CV and a negative style of football I can only think of one guy but they would have to rename that pub

Ismael hasn't even got a promotion on his CV.

Who has Ismael had as his assistant? Same guy or varied job to job?

At Barnsley, West Brom and Besiktas his assistant was Adam Murray, now the manager of Eastbourne in National League South. Not sure who he had at Watford.

Edit - just looked it up and it was Dean Whitehead and Omar Riza (now Cardiff manager) who assisted him at Watford. Whitehead also worked with him at Besiktas, was at Stoke earlier this season but I think left when Robins took over. So perhaps one option for one of the two vacant positions at Ewood (unless we go cheap again and impose existing staff on him).

I’m not excited by Ismael but not totally against it but only on 12 match basis with option to renew / release / renegotiate at the end of the season. A long term appointment without a get out clause would be gross stupidity, given the circumstances our club currently faces.

My guess is David Lowe.
