Is that from Jackson? Why doesnt he name these unlinked candidates then? Anyone could claim there were any number of mystery candidates if you cant back it up by naming them.

If we end up with Ismael who's been heavily linked all along Im calling BS on that tbh.

Yes.

Also, as much as I’m usually wary of brining back former players, I think Duff fits into the “up and coming” category, and even those who don’t favour his appointment would whole heartedly welcome him back.

It would bring a very positive vibe into the stadium.

When a new manager is appointed it should have you bursting with enthusiasm and optimism. If Ismael or Wagner are appointed I think the fanbase aa a whole will feel completely deflated

. Not so much of a new manager bounce, more of a new manager "meh."

At Barnsley, West Brom and Besiktas his assistant was Adam Murray, now the manager of Eastbourne in National League South. Not sure who he had at Watford.

Edit - just looked it up and it was Dean Whitehead and Omar Riza (now Cardiff manager) who assisted him at Watford. Whitehead also worked with him at Besiktas, was at Stoke earlier this season but I think left when Robins took over. So perhaps one option for one of the two vacant positions at Ewood (unless we go cheap again and impose existing staff on him).

Cheers

My guess is David Lowe.

Yeah, was thinking actually he might not get to choose. George Boateng or David Lowe probably

Picking Ismael over Wagner is sabotage haha

Not bothered about either. Im sure Im not imagining Norwich fana hating Wagner and that when we went to their place the atmosphere was completrly toxic!

I’ve no doubt we’ve put off managers who we’ve interviewed, perhaps Wagner is one of them?

- What are you doing about renewing contracts?

- What kind of budget are we looking at in the summer should we stay in the championship?

Two questions you would want answering which they couldn’t give ANY assurances on.

I was underwhelmed when Eustace signed a year ago. I'm less so now with the prospect of Ismael joining, to be honest.

Still not confident he's much of an upgrade on Eustace, but don't think he's much of a downgrade either - and we're short-staffed and need a head coach in so welcome/willkommen/accueillir to you, Valerien.

If some in-job managers are linked they will get all kind of problems. Questions from media etc. If they are interested or not. Nobody gains anything if they are being linked with a job. The managers and clubs will not have their name in the media.

For reasons that elude even myself  I have made a list of every manager who has been promoted in the last eight years. Out of 24 names I reckon only maybe 8 are at all possible, probably the more recent ones - Martin, Edwards - almost certainly too expensive, leaving us with mostly going quite far back in time to find someone with a promotion on the cv - Munoz, Bilic, Warnock, Jokanovic, Hughton, Wagner. And all of those have had very poor years at other clubs alongside when they did get a promotion.

I don’t see it as essential that we get someone who has either got a club promoted or into the Play Offs.

If it was in the very recent past, I do think it adds weight to the argument for appointing them.

I see Ismael and Wagner as Coylesque type appointments, who have been there and done it, but their star is fading.

If we are going for a long term appointment, looking beyond the end of this season, let’s have someone on their way up.

Ismail left Watford 9th- 3 points off 6th

West Brom- 5th

besiktas- 5th but four points off first

He may not be the messiah but his record isn’t as bad as some are making out!

The main questions are, can we afford him, and is he better than what we already have. If yes to both, get him in and let's see what happens.

Waggott should take £1million out of the pot put it on Mike Newell at 100/1 then give him the job.

Finances sorted

I suspect the bookies wouldn't pay out when they find out the address of the account was Ewood Park.

Yep, Ismail and Wagner are very Coyle/Mowbrayesque type appointments in that any success they had was some time ago and more recent appointments ended badly.

The difference with Eustace is that he'd been successful in his most recent endeavours before coming here. I was really pleased when he was appointed whereas with these two Id be completely underwhelmed.

The only way for the board to make up for the Eustace debacle was to make a progressive statement with the next managerial appointment. Ismael isn't it. We were 5th so the opportunity was there to do that. It needed to inspire immediately across 13 games (now 12).

I'm so unbelievably disappointed with the club again and for me it compounds losing Eustace in the way we did... and further validates the accusations against them.... As if that was needed.

I'm not surprised at all by an unimaginative, cheap as they come appointment. It epitomises the board and owners.... but if that's what they wanted then why wasn't it done weeks ago....... and if they didn't want that, why can't they secure a first choice manager that takes some money and some convincing, when 5th in the league?

They've got to go for me.

You've put way more thought and effort into it than our Board have.
