Karanka just dismal after heavy spending at Middlesbrough, Birmingham and Forest failures and short spells in Europe. Someone on here wisely deduced he could be an option from Middlesbrough / Gestede links.

Carvalhal knows these gangsters from previous negotiations, is under contract at Braga and has been involved in European competition this season.

It screams a club that doesn't want to get into the playoffs in my opinion.

Definitely don’t want carvalhal or Karanka.

Busted flushes.

I’d go for Wicksy , as at least that shows a bit of imagination.

Expecting O’Neil = easy to do and probably desperate to get back in.

The majority of that list is predictable and deeply underwhelming. Wicky is a unique choice.

O'Neil, I just can't see it happening.

Wicky wouldn't go to WBA because of an issue with bringing his coaching staff. Carvalhal never came to Rovers previously for the same reason. There's no chance either of these will join because Rovers will continue to employ the usual suspects like Lowe and Benson.

If they can get any of them, I'd want Wicky or Carvalhal. The latter at least has experience managing in this country. As I say though, they'll want their own staff and Rovers would never go for it.

It'll be Karanka, and he'll stink the place out.

Think you're on the money here. We'll see if they appoint someone quick this time too, but guessing not.

Nicko is saying the Rovers shortlist

Gary O'Neil

Altor Karanka

Raphael Wicky

Carlos Carlavhal

Also possible that George Boeteng could be appoint to the coaching staff

What a terrible, terrible list.

Mid table this season, relegation next.

Or maybe just screams a club that isn't attractive anymore to anybody who isn't:

1. Out of work and desperate

2. Out of work and crap

Which probably shows how far away we now are from where we were in terms of reputation in the game.

Didn’t Carvahal string us along during the period before JDT and then turned us down?

He’s still in a job so can’t see us paying a fee.

Who are you really expect to be on that Shortlist? Any names you would like to see approach instead? Any one?

Why is that list of Terrible?

If this list is even vaguely true, it would be shocking—except that it’s not, given our board and owners. Rudy entering the building has proved to be a big big problem, trying to be smart and clever when he is clearly out of his depth.

We need a manager who has at least had some success in the past, knows the Championship, is an excellent man-manager and motivator, does not rely on bringing in expensive players, and is willing to work his socks off understanding each opponent and creating a game plan for each remaining "cup final".

I'm not sure if anyone on that list even ticks a single box

He was here as youth coach years ago..

Was on Robins staff at Coventry before sack

I reckon Nicki just read my post on here about Boetang and realised I talk sense so he copied it

So you would be happy with that list?

Maybe we have different standards.

I expect from this club run by Venkys the very worst and they still manage to surprise me.

Karanka would be particularly bad.

He’s had about 5 jobs since then, including his current club twice. According to Wikipedia anyway.

He’ll fit right in, we don’t do long tenures anymore

I asked again, who else would you like to see on the shortlist? Any names? Any?

Much as I can’t stand the bloke, it’s a no-brainer for me. Get Neil Warnock in on a short contract with a big promotion bonus.

O'Neil makes no sense whatsoever. None. Other than he's available.

He's no experience of promotion pushes or Championship, a career win of about 30% and there is absolutely no reason other than a hope that he will be a good option for us right now. He's also still probably collecting his Wolves 3 year deal pay-off.

Karanka has barely managed for the last 4 years save for very short spells at Granada and in Israel. His last two jobs in England - Forest and Birmingham, were terrible.

Carvalhal has a decent CV albeit a ridiculous turnover in clubs. More importantly requires compensation so is a non-starter even if he'd drop a side competing for European football to come and work here.

Wicky we know next to nothing about other than WBA talked to him and then it broke down.

Good God. Who the hell put that crock of shit list together?

Carvahal has managed 23 clubs in his career, only stays anywhere for max 1 season.

Karanka and O'Neil are shite and who the hell is Wicky?

Shambles.

Give it Wicky just for the cool name and the fact he looks like a better groomed Klopp.

The rest of that list is woeful.

Standard ex-Coventry raid for Boateng obviously.

Can you imagine the scenes if we did get promoted.

The Venky's would come back for the opening game to take their place in the directors box, like the ultimate glory-hunting set of "plastic" fans - it would be total carnage, the first game of our return to the Premiership would be greeted by a chorus of boos and anti-Venky's chants. Half the ground full of armchair fairweather Leeds and Man City fans who can't get tickets for their own clubs, wondering what the heck was going on. The Rovers support forever classed by the media and other fans as the ficklest of the fickle, for daring to criticise our illustrious and caring owners on their magnificent return.

I couldn't bear it, give me admin and League Two any day 😂😂 😂😂

I find it strange that a no mark hack like Nixon plucks some names out of thin air and it even gets to a discussion stage. He was so late to the party about Eustace and jumped on the bandwagon with some nonsense about him applying for other jobs.

He is a chancer of the highest order.

For what it is worth - I don’t think it will be any of those managers except for O’Neil

Karanka and Wicky aren’t Waggott appointments for me

I am thinking it will be out of O’Neil or Edwards

No manager/ coach with any ambition need apply. If you are content to plod along just doing enough to stay in the championship then you are our man. Job description as per Steve Waggot
