Wicky's move to West Brom fell through because he wanted to bring his backroom staff.

We have Benson, Lowe and Johnson who seem to have lifetime contracts here.

All 3 of them must have photos of Waggot in a gimp costume with a Thai ladyboy sticking a cucumber up his arse

It's the only possible explanation I can think of!

Getting smashed in from 10/1 to 1/2 doesn’t happen without serious market pressure. Some people must know something we don’t?

I doubt there's much money floating about the "Next Blackburn Manager" market. One decent size bet will probably skew the odds massively.

Unless anyone saw Lee Carsley going into Bet Fred at Mill Hill earlier on today? He could have carried on to the Wilpshire Hotel for lunch. (One for the old timers there)

I heard George Boateng walked in as the photo was being taken.

Much worse manager than Kean or Coyle.

It would raise our profile massively.

On the downside it wouldn't take long before any thoughts of him being a decent manager were gone for good.

Thankfully wont happen because we'd only be prepared to pay one twentieth of the salary he'd no doubt be expecting anywhere.

It's surprising that some people aren't keen on Lee Carsley. He holds a lot of respect in the football community, has strong connections in England, and has experience in developing young English players. His attacking style of football is exciting, and he brings fresh, new ideas to the table.

Personally, I'd prefer to take a risk on someone like him, much like we did with JDT, rather than hiring another manager who is likely to regurgitate the same instructions/tactics/methods they've used at all their clubs that more than likely ended up with them being sacked for underperforming because everyone's figured them out.

That's definitely true. I was there and was next in line. Bugger!

It was the show with Andy Jacobs, can't remember who the co-host is.

Probably would've been around 2:30 - 3pm (I said lunchtime earlier on, I was well out).

Thanks, Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs/Hawksbee and Charlie Baker.

Let's see if anyone "decent" not crap like Karanka sign a long term deal here

We don't go up and the same thing will be happening next season, our head coach will want out

The club should be throwing money at a short term appointment till the end of the season. They can't give a new manager clarity on budgets or contracts

Nobody decent is signing a 2 or 3 year deal here without knowing what they will be working with next season

Nobody is signing a 2 or 3 year deal here anyway such is our short termism 🤔

You make some good points, I wouldn’t object to Lee Carsley although it’s a big jump from coaching a group of young, mainly up and coming Premier League hopefuls, once every few months, to managing in the Championship week in week out. It’s the old question if he could do it “on a wet Wednesday night in Stoke” sort of thing. Carsley would be better than a few who’ve been mentioned but there are others available with more experience.

Carsley's played on a wet and windy night in Stoke many times and has captained Rovers too. He gets it. Tough guy, a thinker too. We've had a lot worse! 😁 He's handled the top young players of our nation and we have a good young team that's respectful and need a challenge and opportunity.

Personally, I see this as a fresh start for the team (not the board/owners). We're currently in 6th. The team has no expectation to stay in the play offs after what's happened so if we can have a bit of hope and get behind someone who has something to prove then I can't think of a better time than now.

Saying all that, we'll probably end up with Paul Ince 🤣

carsley has been smashed in to 4/7 now🤒,all the other candidates lengthening, the likes of gerrard, rooney and the other detritus have all been pushed out to 20`s

That's actually a slight drift out from 1/2.

Id be majorly surprised if that happened.

I mean he’s just not is he though….

I’m no Southgate fan but he’s in a different universe to those 2 clowns.

Moot point anyway, he’s far too sensible to get involved with this shit show, even just for 15 games.

Move heaven and earth and get big Sam back. Full circle admit they were wrong all those yrs ago and put club before their pride/ego. Sam is one of those managers that can not only coach a team but can manage crazy side of running a club. He’s the man for us
