Social media awash with fans saying Lowe should get the job till the end of the season....

Amazing what a win can do.

I don't even think he'd want it anyway, seems like a quiet chap who likes to stay out of the limelight, he was constantly in discussion with the rest of the coaching staff last night, really was a collective effort and pleasing too see them all rallying round.

Tonight will have made it that little bit easier to find a few interested candidates.

Our club is a mess, but there will be plenty of talented managers thinking that they can get a song out of us for 14 matches and buy a ticket to the playoffs.

There'll be a fair few interested just because it's a free hit at the playoffs.

Beyond that though....

Absolutely knew I'd come into this topic right now and see that people would want Lowe to be in charge because he got a single win. It's as stupid and as predictable as people wanting an ex-player to get the managerial reins every time we need a new manager.

Think our new Head Coach will have links to at least one of Waggott, Gestede and Owen.

For that reason, I think it will be one of Karanka (please no, dull and boring football). Boateng (shouldn't be even mentioned but with our circus clowns) or Wicky (the least unpalatable of the 3 but wouldn't be my choice).

We are in the laps of the footballing gods - hold your breath and lower your expectations!

To be clear, not saying I want him at all, just that there’s a lot of noise about it on social media. That being said I also saw a post praising Waggott and Venky’s for so many good signings in the window….

My first choice remains Sam, have a feeling Carsley will definitely be high up the list given his track record with youth players and the fact we’re most likely going to be relying on ours more and more the next few seasons as it stands.

I can't really see Sam coming back but he is the one, I would give it too..

Carsley wouldn't last 6 months with ur moronic owners..

No pressure on being England U21 manager dealing with talented players..

If we just focus on the next 14 games and maintaining team spirit it's not as daft a shout as you think. If looking further ahead then no thanks.

For me, this is crying out for an Allardyce or Warnock type.

Going for some foreign coach with no experience of the championship and a different playing style at this stage of a season would be daft.

Needs someone who knows the league and believes in a strong team work ethic over ‘Pep’ principles. Even a 6 month type deal for someone would be fine with me.

Yeah.

As well as he did last night I think the result last night was primarily down to the players having a siege mentality over whats happened over the last week. I  was expecting the opposite tbh and for them to be completely demoralised.

However once that feeling has died down a bit it might not be so easy. I think it would be very foolish to give it him until the end of the season although in devil advocate's mode if he wins another couple then I suppose you start to wonder if it would be a risk not giving it to him.

Either way its the cheapest available option so Im sure it will be prominent in Waggott's thinking.

Completely disagree with first bit.

Couldnt agree more with second bit.

Lowe was a lot more active than I had expected. Damien Johnson seems to be more quiet and observant, whereas Lowe was barking instructions.

We need to strengthen the coaching staff anyway and they are already great in their roles.

The most important thing is that we don't start on another new "project". As Lowe stated yesterday, the players knows how to play on and off possession, with the credit to the coaching team. We now need a head coach with similar ideas to what Eustace has been doing the last year, and improve it further. And not back to JDT and possession-based football or similar - we do not have the player material.

This is the success of e.g Brighton and now Liverpool. Finding the right manager for the way the club wants to play and improve it further, and not the other way around (like a certain Manchester-club is doing over and over again). I would guess that the management at Rovers have not aligned on those ideas though.

this, too much change to the current regime could really hamper our chances.

Eustace confirmed as gone……who’s next!?

I'd like to wish him good luck but can't.

As much as I appreciate we're a basket case I still feel he shafted us a bit and could, and should, have waited until the end of the season to move on.

All that talk of togetherness dissipated pretty quickly. I think last night's performance was the team saying, 'look we are together' but also a bit of a 'fuck you' to Eustace.

I hope Derby get relegated.

The power of a good performance and result should never be overlooked. Doom and gloom all week gives rise to optimism and hope after an excellent performance and result. The difference between how people feel after a good away win compared to how it would have been had we narrowly lost is massive.

In the end it makes the position that bit better going into the run-in, and ticks off a tough away game at a top 6 rival as well.

What it shouldn't do is lead to daft suggestions that we simply leave things as they are until the end of the season or give Lowe the job. What it really needs now is for a MANAGER to come in, quickly, and keep things going until the summer.

No projects, no new styles of play, no 'long term plan', just 14 cup finals to squeeze everything out of this group and I think that requires an old head who knows the requirements of the run in.

We are still scarred by three previous play-off collapses at this time of year and handing the job to a novice or manager with one eye on a summer rebuild I think risks letting it fizzle out.

None of the names I can see on that bookies list - other than Steve Cooper who we won't get - suggest to me that they are solely focused on getting into the top 6 this season. It is a mixture of people with zero experience of managing in this situation, people who have mediocre recent records or people used to managing in different circumstances like O'Neil at Wolves or Carsley with the U21s.

no idea why Ryan Lowe was highlighted as i got on the site and screenshot...

Jeez, Carsley firm favorite atm. Ex Rovers of course. Didn't expect someone to be strongly favored at the bookies at this early stage.

I agree with the sentiment but out of interest who would you go for that's available, not currently on the list and would have the best qualifications to get us in the top 6?
