If you give it him now until the end of the season and we lose the next 3 you've nowhere to go. If we win or get good results over the next 3 or 4 it'd probably be a lot safer to give it him. True, but that could be said for giving anyone the job and us then losing the next three.

This is attractive head coach job. Would you be happy with Richie Wellens getting the head coach job? I think its a risk but could be worth it. Has a mixed record, but doing a very good job at Leyton Orient and lived in Manchester for years. Has pros and cons. Id be very underwhelmed. What relevance does the fact that hes lived in Manchester for years have on the decision?! Coyle lives/lived near Brockhall, so what. 1

Cherry Blue Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I've know idea. Someone rang me saying it looks like Lee Carsley and sad to say thats stuck with me since 4pm today. Don't fancy Carsley as he's worked with top players and a fall to Championship will be a learning curve. If we are going to keep "hope" going and that is possible, we need someone who can work with current players. Characters like Cooper & Dyche, both of which I previously disliked at previous clubs, fit that for me. 2
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Richie Wellens 😂 No need to appoint before the weekend. Certainly wouldn't give it Lowe. Although who ever comes will be pissing in the wind with these owners. 1

Wellens isn't the right choice IMO. Needs to earn his stripes with a promotion to the division first. 1

Sacked by Doncaster. 13 points in 19 matches, left them in 23rd place. Seems to be doing well at Leyton Orient but it would be a concerning appointment. And we'd have to pay compensation! 5

I want to see Leeds United and Sheffield United take the automatic promotion spots. I'd love us to win the Playoffs, but really anyone but Burnley would do. I want that loan house of cards to come crashing down - their fans have been relentless during our down time, I want them to suffer worse. Administration and relegation out of the league, please. 6

neophox Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) Steve Cooper my choice but fear they may go for Brian Priske or Edin Terzic who are unproven in the championship. Edited February 13 by neophox

roversfan99 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Didnt realise Wellens' record was quite so bad. The fact that where he lives has been put forward as a positive tells you a lot. 1

neophox Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Wellness can wank off!! Are that the ambition I'm done.

We had the best players by far and we still made hard work of it at times.
Cherry Blue Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Who with football insight will advise on appointment? Or is it down to a YES man who agrees to sign an agreement? 🤪
Andy Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Warnock or Allardyce to the end of the season. Get them organised, get them motivated and see where it takes us. We need an experienced hand, both short and long term. It worries me that this isn't abundantly clear to the idiots currently running our club. 5
BigUts Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I think it'll be Carsley. Wouldn't be my choice but I think Waggott will be dreaming his pants at "ex-England boss" taking over at Rovers. I can't myself see it working at all but if we can get even any kind of bounce then we will likely get in the playoffs. Id personally go all in on Allardyce until the summer 2
