Strange how opinions can vary on things like Big Sam, isn't it?

One of my favourite eras - I loved seeing us grind out wins and be hard to beat.

Big fan of Sam, I think he's massively underrated.

How old are you out of interest? I used to hate watching us under Big Sam. However, I'd have him back now. Just what we need.

Would this have been your opinion if we had lost last night?

Difficult to say for sure, same performance and loss = probably, poor performance and loss (or win) almost certainly not.

I think this being my opinion is also heavily influenced by some of the names we’re being linked with (eg Wellens)

Grateful for him for keeping us up but it should have just been that. He said he was going to play more football than his previous teams had done because he had more of a budget. Anyway, he didn't. Just lumped it up to Kalinic's neck and then blamed anyone who missed half chances. Never took any responsibility. Any draw or win was a relief rather than a celebration and he's dodgy behind the scenes, too. Zero guarantee that he's not out of date in the modern game, as recently as it was that he managed. Very happy he finally got relegated and blotted his record

I think we will go foreign head coach cos they will accept Gestede and Owen having more of say in transfers than a British head coach does

Do you think we SHOULD purposely pick someone willing to concede the final say in transfers?

Rather than thinking, having people picking players that the head coach doesnt agree with has caused problems and led us into a mess. Just let the head coach have the final say going forward and learn your lesson.

He won't need to moved for family reasons or homesick

Most managers live away from home chaddy  they don't all get jobs in their local area

Eustace would have taken other jobs if offered .

If he had been manager of Burnley he wouldn't have been offering himself up to Derby

I don't know Wellens so can't say If he would be good or not, but him being from the North West shouldn't come into it when picking a manager/head coach

Its one thing people being unhappy with him at that time. But having seen what has happened since, I cant fathom how him being manager would be too much.

His football is only seen as dull comparatively because of who he is. Eustace's football wasnt entertaining in the typical sense, we didnt score many, it was all build on being solid.

But there's the expectation that we could do something different, no matter the game. With Allardyce it was the same every week. Occasionally (and I mean super occasionally) he tried to play a bit of football but it was usually against the big teams, away from home, a tactic I think he deployed to point out that it's not worth trying. I'm sure he did it against spurs and won one time but still didn't bother doing it in games he hadn't already written off. There were many games that were dull under Eustace but it was by no means a majority of them. Also, with Eustace, unlike with other recent managers, we weren't beat if we conceded first. Just the fact that the writing wasn't on the wall was such a breath of fresh air even compared to JDT and Mowbray, both of whom I didn't mind

Since when did location become a thing 😅 just because Eustace played that card it’s a load of bollocks. Like I said, if Barcelona came in for him his suitcases would already be packed. Wellens should  be nowhere near a championship team never mind Blackburn in 5th place.

He finished 10th. He did more than keep us up.

Available managers I would be ok with:

Allardyce, Dyche, Gerrard, O’Neil, Harris.

Left field:

Might someone like Brian Priske be interested?

Gerrard?

Weve collected 7 points from 17 times being behind this season apparently. Hardly a breath of fresh air. Just the 1 win which I think was against Oxford at home so right at the start of the season.

As his reign went on, we did at least start to compete against sides at home who were at the top with incomparable budgets. Beat Arsenal and drew with Chelsea and I think United.

Gerrard?

I wasn't grateful for the 10th position. It meant very little when it cost me my interest in watching as a season ticket holder. Me and my dad had decided we weren't going to renew during his final season but thankfully we stayed all the way into League One and back up to the Championship and never once considered not renewing again until I moved away

Do you remember the previous seasons?

Be amazed if we end up with someone better than Gerrard …

not saying he’s the next Brain Clough but when I see the likes of Wellens  Warne and Ryan Lowe getting mentioned I fail to see how Gerrard is worse than them

Do you just not like him as a person?

Or choose a coach who's willing to work with what he's given, rather than use it in the future to manufacture an exit.
