One of the reasons I would want Warnock is knowing that you are going to get 100%, and he'll leave no stone unturned to get us over the line.

In a few weeks we go to Derby and that fixture concerns me with Eustace there. The thought of rocking up and rolling over to them worries me. Go there with Warnock at the helm and they will know about it.

I would take Gerrard on an end of season basis, for sure

He has been in dressing rooms and he will be relateable to the players. I don't think Gerrard necessarily has a philosophy to try and implement. He'll come in and be a bit of 'blood & thunder' - the type of thing we need really going into the final run in

We could do a lot worse. Suggestions of Wellen have showed that

Richie sodding Wellens?! Good grief....make it stop!!

It will be someone cheap, foreign and willing to do what Gestede/Waggott want.

My prediction is Lowe to the end of the year then an underwhelming appointment in the summer.

No chance they go for someone in a job currently - that costs money. The £500k will already have been spent on the heating bill.

14 games is not long enough for someone to come in and change any style/philosophy. For that reason I wouldn't be against Gerard short term - big name, motivate the players, spotlight on the club, point to prove

Rob Edwards as he is someone who has done it before and  might stick around to keep us in the championship next season…

If we had different owners I might consider Warnock but no way in hell is he coming here after the coyle fiasko (yes I know I’m choosing but can’t ignore the big fat turd on the carpet that is the Vs)

I've voted Gerrard.  Even though we've  no chance of getting him, he'd bring in instant respect.

I've voted Gerrard too. None of the names really jump off the page to me and anyone one of them could be a hit or miss, but maybe with Gerrard's high profile, we'd get a bit more media attention!

The last two Liverpool legends that managed here did alright and in fact Souness win rate at Southampton (the last English club he managed before Blackburn) was less than Gerrard's at Villa.

Gerard is a huge no from me. Failed at his last 2 clubs and only won 1 trophy in Scotland at one of the two biggest clubs in the country. Never even managed to win a cup competition up there and arguably only won the SPL title because Celtic completely imploded for a season.

I can understand why others would want him, but I think it'd be a disaster. I think he's one of those former brilliant players who struggles to deal with the fact that the players he coaches are nowhere near what his level was as a player.

Gerrard is middle of the pack for me. Mixed bag of a career so far and no championship experience. Strikes me as manager who would prioritise his philosophy over results but as has been alluded to could come in and give it a bit of blood and thunder for the run in which could get us over the line.

Would much prefer someone with championship experience and promotions under their belt (there's a few out of work) big name, pump the JE compensation money into an almighty incentive, short term deal and give it a real good go. Then reassess what we need in summer.

Voted Duff …He’s got a connection with the club as well as the academy .. He’s totally changed from his playing days personality wise and looks hungry & passionate… Edwards as second choice …

The head coach should always get the final say on transfers.

Point being, we shouldnt get a head coach specifically because he is willing/desperate enough not to have the final say on transfers. I dont get your mindset of accepting a dysfunctional behind the scenes structure with people seemingly disagreeing on signings and just picking someone willing to put up with it. Hardly screams going for the best candidate.

Of course you are going to get disagreeing on signings within any football club. That's natural and you need find an agreement with your structure.

Eustace wanted Championship experience signings which on Rovers budget is hard. Even yourself says we can't afford some players in the British market so we need to look to sign Foreign markets for similar quality but lower cost. That's football. The head coach need to understand that and work within the budget and understanding.

A head coach doesn't have the time to properly scout players hence why the Chief Scout and Dof Find the players and present a shortlist of 3-5 to the head coach to pick from. Isn't that normal at most clubs these days?.

It was reported in the Lancashire Telegraph that Eustace didnt get his targets and youve echoed that. He clearly wasnt happy with January so I am guessing he didnt want the players mentioned.

Yes I know the article, I posted on here

He wasnt happy we didn't one of those players or spend money given it what we received in the 12 months.

Dennis, Woodrow and Kargbo weren't his signings but he agreed to them at least. Kargbo looked good in his first 2 games to be fair. Dennis did well against Wolves.

I dont think recruitment has been that good but then again its hard when your budget is a bag of magic beans. You missed Cantwell and Cozier Duberry who have both been crap.

Yet we sit 5th in the league with 14 games to go.

Who was behind Cantwell signing? I dont know. Probably Eustace and Park.

You were a fan of his, now change your opinion? Interesting

But why is Wicky your choice? How much do you actually know about him aside from the rumour that he is on the shortlist?

Cos I read some articles about his tactical approach at Young Boys. Have a look online.

Richie Wellens would tick a lot of boxes for the board. It's a job beyond his skillset and experience so he'd be 'grateful' to have the job and wouldn't kick up a fuss with the chaos behind the scenes and lack of investment. He'll also be on low wages.

I don't think it will be anyone with any standing in the game as they'll be off within a year just like Eustace. They don't need to put up with a shambles of a club like this. Although I'm sure the likes of Gerrard, Edwards etc would fancy it in the short term to get back into work before moving on, just like Eustace did.

Personally, I think Carsley will get it and they'll trot out the "he's good with developing young players" line. At this point, with no assets left to sell, they are probably looking for a Head Coach who can develop the next assets to sell on. That will be the focus.

Not a chance Gerrard gets it. I think he'd be decent but he wouldn't settle for mediocrity and he'd kick up a fuss if the board didn't back him. They don't want another one of those after JDT and Eustace.

Carsley might well be a good coach and a good option for an aspirational club.

Why would he come here though?

He's got a safe, well paid job with the England setup. In 18 months Tuchel is out and he may well be tipped to replace him as he was tipped to replace Southgate last time. He will need compensation to get him out of his contract with the FA. He's never been a club manager despite being around the coaching block the last 10 years or so. He was linked heavily with the Irish job last year which suggests he's got options if he wants to be a Number 1.

Coming here as his first club number 1 role would be extremely risky, and almost certainly won't happen.

His name is getting linked because he's an ex-player and he's been linked to other vacancies over the last few months like Stoke.

Trot out the line?

He's England under 21 coach,if that's the direction of travel then we surely couldn't appoint anyone higher.

Yes, we’d be renamed, “Steven Gerrard’s Blackburn Rovers”.

As others have said, I think his back room staff were the driving force at Rangers.

Maybe if he brings them with him, (Beale and Critchley), it wouldn’t be too bad.
