If you fancy the job Damien, email Waggot.  I believe it's sw4ggot@rovers.co.uk

At least they'd be no pissing about at the back, giving us palpitations when Pears gets the ball at his feet.

Sam used to infuriate me with his his stubbornness even when things weren't working, but he'd bring some siege mentality and if he was still up for it mentality it could work, though I've doubts about that as he is showing his age in his speech on his podcast.

I wouldn't mind Colin Wanker, I know it's fashionable to dislike him, but I love his passion.  Imagine if fate meant that we played those bastards in the play off final, he'd get them up for the battle.  I imagine he fucking hates the dingles too, who doesn't?

I'm not claiming to be "ITK" but I think I've stumbled across the new manager job advert!  Might be bullshit, but it seems pretty legit to me? Found it in a local curry house...

Job Advertisement: Head Coach - Blackburn Rovers Football Club

Position: Head Coach
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire, England
Club: Blackburn Rovers Football Club

About Us:
Blackburn Rovers Football Club, with a rich history and a passionate fanbase, is currently at a pivotal moment. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated head coach to lead our team through an exciting new chapter while navigating the unique challenges presented by our current management structure.

Role Overview:
As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for:

Leading the first team in all competitive fixtures and training sessions.

Developing and executing tactical strategies to enhance team performance within very limited resources.

Managing player recruitment, development, and welfare, ensuring alignment with club ethos and long-term vision, under stringent financial constraints.

Cultivating a positive team culture that resonates with the club’s storied history and dedicated supporters.

Key Requirements:

Proven Experience: Must have a track record of success in managing teams at a high level, ideally within the Championship or Premier League, with experience in managing under financial constraints.

Strategic Mind: Exceptional ability to analyze matches, adapt tactics, and make critical decisions under pressure, particularly with a squad built on loan players and those past their prime.

Leadership: Strong leadership qualities with the capability to inspire and motivate players, staff, and fans, while accepting responsibility for outcomes that may not reflect true performance due to external directives.

Resilience: Ability to work under challenging conditions without standing up to CEO supremo Steve Waggot and with no direct contact with the owners. Instead, all interactions will be through Suhail Pasha, the only individual at the club with direct owner communication.

Operational Constraints:

Budget: The successful applicant will work on a shoestring budget, necessitating the sale of any high-value players and replacing them with loan signings or players considered "has-beens". Any promises made about transfer budgets may not be honored, and if you decide to question this, you will be painted as the villain.

Performance Goals: Your objective will be to finish just outside the playoff places; under no circumstances should the team be promoted to the Premier League.

Accountability: You must be prepared to act as a "yes man" and take the public blame for performance, shielding the neglectful owners from criticism.

Transportation: While CEO supremo Steve Waggot has leased an amazing team bus, players might occasionally have to take the train to matches if the bus is leased out for stag dos or similar events.

Contractual Issues: There may be significant challenges next season as most of the team's contracts are expiring. If you have any friends or family who can kick a ball, their assistance might come in very handy.

Fan Management: It's crucial to communicate to the fans that this isn't 1995 anymore; we no longer have the likes of Chris Sutton and Alan Shearer. The fans need to realise this and should be perfectly content with mid-table obscurity.

Football Operations: Rudy Gestede serves as head of football operations despite lacking experience in this role. He is in charge of transfers, meaning you may request players, but he will ultimately decide who joins the club, continuing a recent tradition of employing people who haven't got a clue about running a football club. Transfers could be cancelled at the last minute due to a faulty fax machine, administrative errors, Steve going for a curry, or any other reason.

Media and Public Relations: The club has recently repaired divides with local journalist Alan Nixon, who is currently leading a propaganda campaign funded by supremo Steve Waggott. The happy clappers on Twitter, Facebook, and in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph comments section have already lapped it up.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience and success, within the club's limited financial framework.

An opportunity to leave a lasting legacy at one of England’s historic clubs, under unique circumstances.

Support from a professional staff committed to excellence in football operations, albeit with limited resources.

Additional Notes:

Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the role's unique challenges, including the strategic direction set by current club management and the indirect relationship with the club's owners.

Very Important: Upon acceptance of the position, you will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to protect our wonderful owners, Supremo Steve Waggot, Suhail Pasha, and Rudy Gestede.

How to Apply:
Please submit your CV along with a cover letter detailing your coaching philosophy and experience. Applications should be sent to recruitment@blackburnrovers.co.uk by March 15, 2025.

Blackburn Rovers Football Club is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

Note: This advertisement reflects the current situation at the club and is subject to change based on club policy or management decisions.

Put me down for Allardyce. A direct style would suit our personnel atm and I reckon he'd have the players motivated which is our best shot of pulling off a miracle this year. Plus, I do enjoy his podcast now and then and appreciate the broad scepticism he has with modern techniques, particularly below the absolute top tier of the sport.

Think Gary O'Neill would be arguably the best all round choice.

Russel Martin would be the worst IMO... I absolutely hate his philosophy and would be an awful fit for a club like ours.

Let's go with the Belgium model (the country ran successfully without a government between 2010 and 2011) and see what happens when the grenade is just allowed to go off, and we keep going until the last man is standing.

I mean, who in their right mind is going to come in  for a gig as toxic and fecked up as the Blackburn Rovers head coach appointment, other than either a complete buffoon or an unemployed yes man?

Waggott and his local funnel boss need to be asked one simple question - WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?

Fook em. There are better ways to get column inches than this ridiculous circus.

My brother in law is a Luton fan. He seems to think rob Edwards is overhyped. Said he had a good 5 months with Luton getting them up but has done nothing either side of that for Luton.

think personally At this time I would rather see Damian duff be given the chance. Least you know he will probably be here come August.

Any interest in Dave Challinor? Looks like a serial winner to me, lives in the north west, multiple promotions with different clubs.

Under contract at Stockport and they would fight to keep him. I imagine that their setup and budget beats ours hands down.

That why they will go foreign head coach who will accept that type of lesser role in recruitment cos in other countries they are much used to having less role/say in recruitment.

if we go British, I reckon Edwards and Harris would be the top 2. I probably go Harris. Just think he is better suited to these set of players and going more direct

No point thinking about anything long term at this point. Appoint Edwards / O'Neill  / Cooper on another 'journey' and we will have the same problems all over again in the summer.

A motivator until the end of the season then take stock. Hopefully Venky's will decide enough is enough by then.

My vote....

Brian Priske

He won the title in his first season with Midtyjlland, title in his first season with Sparta Prague and the double in his second. He doesn't need big signings and works really really well with academy players. Not afraid to throw them in.

He got sacked by Feyenoord yesterday (was always going to be tough to follow Arne Slot). They have been very inconsistent in the league but he got some good results along the way....drawing with Man City away and beating Bayern Munich 3-0.

The hilarious irony of the likes of Rev and Chaddy wanting Allardyce.... Unbelievable.

EDIT: Sorry, Chaddy, perhaps you were commenting on Warnock further up.  Out of interest, would you take Allardyce? I think he may have blocked me anyway so he probably won't see this.
