I listened to the show and he was critical of Henry Winter, as well as Big Sam, who have both said their piece on how badly the club has been run by Venkys, and rightly so. His point about how Big Sam 'should know better' because he tried to leave Rovers before Venkys came in is irrelevant at this point. The fact is they've ruined the club and Allardyce has simply been making that point this week. It was really quite strange.

Upton Sinclair said this about a similar situation - “ It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it “.

Sorry are we talking about Nixon here?

If so he's gone into full PR mode for the Club since the Eustace situation arose. Possibly since the end of the window with his comments on what a steal 20k p.w. was for the Dennis deal (who has barely featured for us yet).

Most odd.

As I've repeatedly said, Nixon is a horrible, horrible man. It's no wonder he's BBC Radio PNE's go-to journalist pundit.

Ok if it was Nixon, him being critical of Henry Winter as well - ROFL.

Bet Henry's losing a lot of sleep about that.

Errrmm … King Kenny at Ewood tomorrow .. you don’t think … no that would be impossible … wouldnt it ???

At 73, yes.

However, maybe they will canvass his opinion on who to appoint, (and then appoint the cheapest option, anyway ).

Remembering what this Indian shower of s**t said about signing Zinadine Zidane, then the two foreign coaches Nixon mentions must be Klopp and Mourino.

I remember "Madame" promising to take us into Europe regularly with a £5M subsidy per year!

She explained that there was no need to buy players for big fees---"you can just borrow them"!!

I don’t think they knew that relegation was a thing.

We seem to be moving inexorably towards that model dont we.

Our model seems to have 2 parts to it----let our signed players contracts run down and go for free, and fill up with loanees.

What could go wrong?

"Madame" was so moronically ignorant of the system that she actually used the expression "lease" rather than "borrow"!!

Immediate warning bells were ringing from day one with the "Venky lot"!!

You don't have to be an accountant to see that's ruinous for the balance sheet. Why on Earth let an 'asset' depreciate to zero when you could recoup some of the value? 🙃

We do have a good academy and have done some good recruitment. We're reliant on selling a few players for big money every couple of years (e.g. Szmodics) who've appreciated in value to partially reinvest at the beginning of the cycle. The majority of that money goes to (fruitlessly) try and plug the haemorrhaging of money.

Evidently a flawed model - where's marketing and growing the BRFC brand? Where's other sources of income, investment in new revenue generating facilities? It would take a few years to do, but couldn't the area surrounding Ewood be bought up by the club and developed into a social hub (cinema, restaurants, flats, fan zone, refurbished BRIC etc)? Instead the matchday offering has been unchanged in 30 years!

Nixon is talking shit...he gets some transfer stuff right so in my view so his gossip is  worth discussing but his own views are something else either clueless or someone paying him

His response to the frightening contract situation "its all about this season"

Or "Eustace wanted experienced players and he got experienced players"

Or trying to make out we played a blinder with the Dennis by waiting till the last second and offering the highest contribution to his wage

His Rovers insider is Waggott now

Ignoring Richie Wellness, we have a new favourite

Ill be gutted if Wellens gets it.

Wellens and Gerrard joint favourites at 4/1 on Talksport.

O Neil next best then Carsley who I dont think is a realistic candidate.

None of them are realistic

Even Wellens, that thought will evaporate when they realise they will have to pay compensation

O'Neil and Gerrard will be too expensive

And Carsley won't leave a number like he has at England to join a dysfunctional club

If they ain't throwing money at a short term man...we will end up with either Karanka or Boateng
