I don’t see why it won’t be Duff out of that list

Something has simple as him having worked here before could be what picks it

It just doesn’t seem the right job for anybody else on that list. Karanka maybe

He worked here as a young player over 20 years ago under different owners. I dont see what relevance it has.

At the moment the players are doing the business on the understanding there'll be a new man coming in. It would be a massive mistake to remove that carrot/stick imo, we've seen countless examples over the years of teams showing an upturn in form under a caretaker manager then as soon as the appointment is made permanent everything goes rapidly South.

What did Henry Winter have to say about us this morning ?

True, and we'll end up with Russell Martin

Think there's no doubt he would be an utter disaster.

IMO, an intransigent coach who is a legend in his own mind only and so in love with himself.  Think he was really lucky to land the Southampton post on the back of a very average track record and his management of them in the PL proved disastrous.  Would rather have Coyley than Martin and that says it all.

Appointing a player who once pretended to be a dog, cocking its leg up to pee on a corner flag after scoring against us, (Boa Morte), would definitely be the last straw 😉

That's a bit of a tall tail.

Would be nervous with boateng or boa morte, inexperienced and a gamble we shouldn’t be taking

raging if it were Russell Martin, don’t rate him at all

50/50 on gerrard, big name in football but his history looks sketchy at best, not sure he is a great manager

ok with carsley, O’Neill or Edward’s, all had somewhat success and appear to be steady hands

would bite your hand off at cooper or Danny rohl

rest on the list for one reason or another just nah.
sadly don’t think there is any realistic stand out candidates. It’s a shame mark robins was snapped up

Danny Rohl has a £5m release clause in his contract that Southampton refused to trigger earlier in the season. He’s a very good manager, being treated poorly by a bonkers owner.

Sound familiar…

That's had me searching! 🙂

This is as near as I could find for proof.

Watch Boa Morte's celebration after scoring Fulham's third.

They cut off from showing the full celebration, (the cocked leg), but I think this proves I haven't made it up 🙂

Boateng’s only real link to the club is he’s worked here previously.

No idea where Boa Morte has come from, presumably his agent?

Both make zero sense unless they’re great mates with Rudy or something, which I also doubt.

A couple with obvious rovers links then the rest just managers that have appeared in the betting for the last few vacancies at other teams. In short I wouldn’t read anything at all into these odds.

Boateng and Boa Morte will be cheap and, initially, compliant and probably accept whatever contract is put to them.

Sold as being ”High profile former players” akin to Gerrard but a damn cheaper - sound like something Suhail would want and Barry Mantits would lap up?

Mate, honestly…they haven’t a clue what’s going on. Completely unaware and ambivalent.

I met one of their advisors in Dubai last year, at the same level as Suhail. They have around 10x of them globally and he was open about it…”it’s just another business line, another line on the P&L…nothing more or less.”

Yeah, that happened 😉

How did you know it was and come across a Venkys advisor, out of interest?

"Another line on the P&L" doesnt really make sense but it is clear that they do treat us with the total disregard that you suggest. They couldnt give a shit about us and their lapdog essentially said as such in a recent fans fans forum by saying they wont be coming any time soon as they have more important matters to attend to.

I attended Gitex in Dubai in October last year as I work with a number of tech companies looking to raise capital and and grow their business.

I met an Indian company, who had an advisor with them. On introduction he said his name and that he was ‘independent’ as he worked for a High net worth Indian family called “The Venkys…you may know them from England as they own some football team…errrm…Blackburn”. Anyway, we spent and hour or so chatting about Rovers and Venkys as a well as investment.

Without going into details, he wasn’t disrespectful about us but the overriding feeling is that Rovers is no more important than 20 other businesses within their portfolio. Venkys have 10+ leaders who move around their portfolio and report directly into them. Suhail and this guy are two of that group.

Would love Danny Rohl, however if he is a no go the main target to me needs to be Gary O Neil or Lee Carsley. I want someone who can develop young players. Rob Edwards hasn't shown that. Ruddy needs to tie down contracts we are in a precarious position. I think keeping Weimann Batt Hyam and Hedges (only to sale for some value), is key. Thyrys just give him a 15k-20k a week contract he deserves it more than Arnor.

Interestingly Nixon has said a few times that Boateng is only an option as a number 2, not head coach.. not sure why a club would be sounding out number twos rather than getting there head coach sorted first..

My other thought was maybe they’re hoping for O’Neil with Boateng as his number 2 as they were at Boro for a year or so together back in there playing days.. maybe Boateng is cheaper than who O’Neil may want to bring with him.. either way I’d be wanting Lowe to remain as first team coach, clearly has the respect of everyone at the club.

If Gerrard is of interest, they may need to act fast as many Rangers fans are hoping for him back and they’re currently drawing against Hearts who are the better team, so Clements days are surely numbered.

Either way, I hope we see some movement this week, none of the names are particularly exciting, we just need a steady name that won’t change much just yet.. If there’s anything in Boateng, Boa Morte and Wellens, underwhelmed would be an understatement, anger would be the better way of describing how I’d feel..

Hoping for a decent appointment, has to be right!

Maybe they should let one of the others have a go.

Dont know. I didnt listen to the show this morning, sorry.

Sadly in a way the two wins have probably taken the heat off the owners somewhat.
