Not as far as Im aware.

He just suddenly went very short in the betting for some reason.

I know that''s far from definitive, but are we not allowed to react to that or express our opinion or something?

He went favourite after a few people put bets on him after a couple of tweets saying he was getting an interview

Gerrard went favourite for a short period  after Danny Murphy said he would be interested and people placed a few bets

The bookies odds mean absolutely nothing until someone is massively odds on

Agree about Boateng and Boa Morte, but would enjoy Duff. He’s done well in LoI and was a top player. Knows the club and could turn into a top manager.

I don't think he does 'know' the club. He knows the training ground and area from before but he certainly won't recognise the disgraceful shambles of an organisation behind the scenes compared to what he might remember from over 20 years ago.

I'm not really sure 'knowing' the club actually means very much, especially not in our position.

I’m not telling everyone how the process works. Keep up👍

So that would be no then? That's all I wanted. Thanks for coming 👍

Rovers are right to interview a number of candidates and find the right one, Lowe, Johnson and the players winning the last 2 games have taken the pressure for rush appointment and we need to make the right appointment. If it takes another week, so be it

Again, I didn’t say I knew how the process worked. I’d sit this one out.

Nixon has said Boateng hasn't been interviewed at all, so people need to calm down.

So Boateng is being interviewed then...

If anybody from the club reads BRFCS, they would have known to be succession planning some weeks ago. And that is assuming the board wasn't doing the job they are supposed to do and has a plan for key vacancies arrising.

I think Boro would work nicely for him in fairness. It's unlikely that he'll get a prem job - fairly or not - and so he can join a club that if they can sort their form out have every chance of a top 6 finish this year. If they fall short, fans won't hold him responsible and he has a good chairman and decent squad to start again with next year. Other than a recently relegated club, it's as good as he's likely to get for me.

Next season , will be a lot more difficult to attain a Play Off place or above.

For us it is now or never  , possibly same for Middlesborough .

The 3 promoted clubs coming down plus Birmingham and possibly Wrexham going up , the latter will splash the cash especially Birmingham .

On the plus side of all that , going to be difficult for Dingles too if they fail this season..

A very rosy take on the workings of Blackburn Rovers in 2025.

It's quite possibly going to come down to who will be the cheapest candidate to employ and how pushy his agent is.

why is the need for quick appointment?

Lowe and the players are united. 2 wins on the bounce have allowed them time to find the right appointment.

This is true... for now. The players need to know what the board's decision is, otherwise doubts will be sown that "They're going to scupper this and put Manager X in with 8 games to go. Will X or Y's style suit us?" All that uncertainty and those nagging questions that will arise the longer the club stay silent.

Equally, the fans will get restless at the continuing incompetence of the management.

Maybe we could go longer with Lowe as caretaker - the board just need to say so and tell us when they're going to appoint! Certainty and unity is needed for this run-in. An issue as central as the Head Coach can't be let slide.

An effective team in this situation needs to take a decision and move on.

it will be more difficult but does one of the teams who might come down not face quite harsh penalties when/if they drop

The last 2 appointments have been good, it's what comes later that cocks it up.

I'm not saying it Is or isn't the way to go, but if the club are insistent on a situation that the club provides players and the coach coaches them, then it needs to be made clear.

If Eustace concentrated on what he had, rather than who he wanted, he'd realise we are in a strong position squad wise going into the final push.

It's the irony of the whole situation that the squad (short term I know) is in a really healthy position with supposedly no input from Eustace. Maybe, just maybe somebody at the club knows how to scout players.

Do you not think they'd be interested? I think our current squad is right up their street.. They're modus operandi is squeezing the most out of teams.. They've bags of experience and have coaches beneath them that would run the training. Their people skills would see us into the play-offs...

I don't know if our players can kick the ball that high. And Pears' distribution isn't his strong point

Eustace was concentrating on what happens in the summer - I guess he wasn't banking on Dennis and Kargbo firing us to promotion.

We're in a world of hurt in the summer without investment.

For the record I definitely think he overplayed his hand and jumped too soon (and is probably going to get relegated with Derby), but his concerns are very real.

Secret transcript of BRFC job interview with George Boateng:

Steve W: So, George, you have a very impressive CV
George B: *Looks confused*
Steve W: ... Connections with both Coventry AND Middlesbrough football clubs?! *licks lips, raises eyebrows to Rudy suggestively and slurps on chocolate milkshake*
George B: Erm, yes, but, that's not all...
Steve W: Good, good. Lets explore that a bit. So, on a scale of 1 to 10, how, shall we say, desperate, are you - if 1 is, oh I don't know, 'walk out on my employer when our mutually agreed release clause is met, like a fuck1ng greedy Judas'... *Rudy looks disgusted and spits on the floor*... and 10 is, let's say... 'will do whatever the club board tells me to do and will respectfully expect absolutely no contact, nor funding whatsoever from, the owners'?
George B: Twelve
Steve W: Good lad. I like you. Any compensation issues we should be aware of?
George B: None at all
Steve W: Mmmm..*rubs hands together gleefully, crumbs fall on table*. What's your wage expectations?
George B: I'm not really in a position to be too choosy, to be fair
Steve W: Wonderful, wonderful. Rudy, get some paper from the safe, and the good pen. Bring in that lad who knows how to write contracts - we didn't fire that one, did we? George, you were always our number 1 candidate, son. Now go and lead this team to the promised land: To 7th, and not beyond.
