No chance,he shit on them to go Southampton previously

Do you really think those piss takers from the shithole even see it through to Gestede, Owen, Waggott and Pasha desks? 🙄

And our club position would lead to some quality applicants domestic and overseas so what the issue with conducting a proper interviewing process.

The team is winning

No it's smacks of trying to find the right candidate that can work with our structure and not change too much in the short term. Lowe, Staff and the players are winning games.

The answer is a very simple one, relegation was the fear. Waggott lined Eustace up days before JDT and Elliott Jackson ran the article on the time backing this up..

I dont what your issue is in doing interviewing process and finding the right candidate in the short, medium and long term.

You keep saying things like whats the rush, why panic, whats the issue with having an interview process.

No one has said any of those things.

Argh, come on mate…think.

When JDT was sacked it was the clubs decision and they were about to be relegated.  Therefore, they wouldn’t have 100 applicants, and they could speak to managers for weeks in the lead up.

Honestly, if they had a shortlist and added 100+ applicants, then the timeframe is not abnormal and they 100% need to get this right. An announcement in the next week seems perfectly fine to me.

The situations arent as different as you suggest. Tomasson was let go by mutual consent but like with Eustace, he was the one who in a different way made his position untenable. He wasnt sacked because of relegation worries. And it all blew up as a result of another manager not being backed in January.

Both were similar in that they had repeatedly and publically aired their frustrations building up to them going.

The alledged 100+ applicants thing wont be some unique process quashing eventuality. I bet a large % of them could have been discarded within an hour.

How do you know Waggott selected him?

Sounds to me like him trying to gain free credit after Broughton the man employed to appoint managers, had left

I thought it was the Egg.  He definately mentioned having people in mind in the event of JDT ever moving on.  This was way before the problems started.

Two years ago we were battling for the play-offs in JDTs first season having put some solid building blocks in place the previous summer and were 7 months into the Broughton/Head Coach/Continental setup.

Since then we've drastically cut the budgets, alienated and forced out the head coach, got rid of Broughton, ditched that approach, adopted some sort of half way house approach by employing Gestede in that role, appointed a more traditional manager, forced him out to relegation threatened Derby County, had 3-4 pathetic transfer windows, sold most of our assets, spent nothing, still aren't getting funding from India after over 2 years, haven't renewed a contract in almost 18 months, failed to offer the last manager any assurances on medium to long term plan or investment......

And you think they are going into this appointment with an eye on the long term or 2 years from now?

I bet the people speaking to the head coach don't know with any confidence whether there'll still be a football club here in 2 years given the way this lot are operating.

You know why the budget was cut 18 months so I don't get why you even asking that question

3/4 pathetic transfer window? Really? Was last summer or January window that bad given the performances of Batth, Weimann, Gueye, Ohashi, Beck, Sanderson, Kargbo and Riberio, Cantwell all that has proven their qualities this season and some scored goals at crucial times.

Yes we know the problems with no reinvest much of the money received or contract renewal yet we are 5th in league and that means this attractive job and the job that recruitment department have done so far has been good one.

Lets see who we appoint shortly.

You didn't want an interview process in the first place.

Do you any info or evidence to say we haven't had 150 plus applicants?

I think our exec management is so dysfunctional - 'officially' they have known for almost 2 weeks Eustace was offski, 'unofficially' they've known for much longer given the different jobs we understand Eustace applied for (I was told by a journalist at weekend Eustace even applied for the Plymouth job and given the 'source', it's very, very likely to be correct).  Therefore, where the feck is the planning?  Barring an exceptional unforeseen candidate making himself available, Rovers surely would have had 3 prime targets?

As for interviews - yes they help but it's where the bullsh1t merchants thrive.  I would be more interested in what a candidate has already tangibly done and achieved.  If I'd hired all the bullshit merchants I came across in my working career then I would have been a billionaire and  able to buy Rovers myself!

This seems to be justifying why I was arguing the club needed to move quickly. We've now got direct competition from Boro for managers and the fans are starting to get restless at the lack of concrete news. The candidates are starting to see from all this how BRFC are dysfunctional and getting cold feet.

The third of three interviews took place in Manchester today.

Announcement by Friday.

I wasted a fiver on Carsley earlier in the process but I think my £30 on Gary O’Neil has a decent chance of coming in 😉

Oh and RIP Rick Buckler 😥

The clock is ticking. We look incompetent. As said above we should have had a shortlist of 3-5 managers, already sounded out when it appeared Eustice was off and had then in the building over the next 1-3 days.

Our rep in the football world is fragile. A bit of conviction would have at least given the appearance of some level of competence. Here we are dragging our feet though.

I'm unsure an appointment will be made in February. It amazes me how thick Waggott can be. Truly playing with fire here. He's been lucky we've won two on the bounce, but one or two losses and the fans will turn and begin asking what the fuck is going on. Every day that passes I'm more convinced it will either be Lowe or somebody very underwhelming.

Sadly the case apparently.

There are no reassurances about contract renewals or transfer spend availability or Category A status.

What an utter shambles.

Think it's clear the club is a basket case.

Unless by some miracle we get promoted this year, one really fears for our future next season and beyond.

Any decent prospective appointee will no doubt have been in touch with messrs Eustace and Tomasson - oh to have listened to those conversations!!!

Bring on the desperados.

As chaddy said look at West Brom,Sunderland,Hull,Coventry etc

None of them appointed within a few days.

Yes the club knew that Eustace was seeking a new job but still think it would have been a bit surprising that he chose to leave when he did.

It also has to be taken into consideration that due to our position in the table with not that many games left had probably led to some higher calibre applicants

If there cannot be reassurances about contract renewals then what’s the point in this whole process!? We will basically have no squad in 3 years. The lingering hope is that this means they intent to sell if we don’t get promoted, but no manager of any credibility is going to want that job.

If they had any brains they would sell if we get promoted.
