Our rep in the football world is fragile. A bit of conviction would have at least given the appearance of some level of competence. Here we are dragging our feet though. 

I'm unsure an appointment will be made in February. It amazes me how thick Waggott can be. Truly playing with fire here. He's been lucky we've won two on the bounce, but one or two losses and the fans will turn and begin asking what the fuck is going on. Every day that passes I'm more convinced it will either be Lowe or somebody very underwhelming. 

Starting to think a Karanka type figure is on the cards. Anyone with kudos in the English game has woken up to how fragile the clubs situation is.

Don't get the desire for allardyce at all.

Why would they hire him after they already sacked him. It's not as if he's been complimentary about them since leaving.

If anyone has listened to him recently on his podcast then he doesn't come across as the same big sam tha was here, appears to have slowed down a lot.

If new managers are being shot down on new contracts for existing players and Category A academy status, then the people interviewing and making that assessment need removing. Physically, if necessary. This needs to be confirmed in whichever way is possible, but it’s actively sabotaging the club’s future. Enough is enough.

I honestly think that there will be interest in the job. A manager will want a promotion on their CV. We all know the play offs are a lottery and literally anything can happen. An out of work manager will see it as a chance to come in without changing too much and get a place in the top 6. It’s a win win job as you can just blame the owners and the shit show above if you fail to make the play off spots. 

It really is a win win job for a short term project. There’s no stability but in reality what’s the average championship managers term been recently, the turn over is pretty rapid.

Might be in the minority here but I’d be targeting a big name on a 6 month deal with a huge bonus if promoted. A ‘long term’ manager, whatever that means, is no use to us right now and my focus would be on the next 6 months only.

We all know the level of incompetence with Jabba & Pasha running things, chances are they will fuck this up.

My main hope is how galvanised and focused the players are, there is clearly a bit of a siege mentality going on which could see us over the line whomever takes the hot seat.

Your thoughts are right.

Though doesn't need to be a 'big name' but rather a person with a proven track record of success and only needs a contract through to 31 May.  A £300k fixed term contract with a £1million bonus if promoted.  What credible out of work managers with a track record of some success would turn their nose up at that - they would absolutely have nothing to lose.

Yep, it’s a win win situation. The only issue is that some of the targets may still be being compensated from being sacked and taking our job would impact on that. On that basis I can’t see a Cooper type target taking a short term gig and losing the Leicester money.

Any unemployed manager worth their salt should want to be taking charge of a shot to nothing and see if this ends with them being a Premier League manager by the end of May.

Absolutely works.

Go for the likes of Cooper on a four month contract. If we don't get promoted we are looking for a new manager in summer. If we do, we pay him from the Premier League money. It's a no brainer for me when we aren't prepared to give out contracts beyond this season seemingly.

I doubt any managers have been put off by us not guaranteeing Cat A academy status or the like. 

It's more likely to be far less defined. Something along the lines of, what's the long term vision, plans for next season if promotion doesn't happen etc. To which I'm sure the answer would be, we'll review in the summer or a load of hot air. It'll be the complete lack of any coherent strategy rather than saying certain things won't happen. We've seen this time and again over the years. We miss out on targets earlier in the summer who would have been within our price range because there is zero knowledge of budgets and targets for the upcoming season. 

Failing the unlikely event of us winning promotion, I can see this summer being one of the worst under Venkys reign. The club is having to wash its own face right now and we're right on the limit financially. Hence no contract extensions, Ribeiro only being a 6 month deal, Kargbo only signing for 2.5 years. It's unbelievably short-term and once again we'll see assets walk for free rather than following a clear 'trading club' strategy.
