Obviously we dont know how many are being interviewed but as I said, 7 or 8 would suggest that they dont really know what they are looking for.

We seem to get more than our fair share of internal politics and disagreements due to the dysfunctional way the club is run.

But actually, I shouldnt talk about that as you have already told me off for.

Cauley Woodrow was decent at Barnsley. Its a long time ago. Karanka was good at Boro but has had job after job of disappointment since.

It doesn't even need to be this restricted.

It could be an 18 month contract with an agreed break clause with an expiration of, say 30th June, whereby they are free to leave if they want, whilst giving us time to find a replacement. 

Offer a big play-off bonus and a huge promotion bonus on top of that. Someone would take it, surely? Nothing to lose, potential for something more long-term if they decide they like the job anyway, can leave if they don't.

Ismael is the one that’s always been in the back of my mind with the Barnsley connection, brittain and Woodrow , not that I particularly want him but I can see the club going down that route

Would be very happy with Valerian Ismael.

Had a fantastic managerial record before his season at Watford. He also favours the formation we currently play, but a bit more attacking... perfect!

Regarding his stint at Watford, it wasn't great, sure... but there are others who've done even worse there and over a shorter period of time - such as Chris Wilder and Rob Edwards.

All experienced gaffers at this level will have blips on their records - if they didn't, they'd be managing at a higher level.

Ismael has excelled way more than he has failed as a manager, bring him in.

So, has Crook gone into any more detail on his twitter account or is this it?  Even if it's true, why are people assuming he's turned the job down and not the club moving onto other targets. He was the first name I mentioned when the news broke about Eustace, but maybe he just didn't interview well?

Win percentages are such a flawed way to measure a managers competence without further information.

He did do very well to get Barnsley into the play offs but that was a while ago.

I might be misremembering this but im sure he played a back 3 at Barnsley with Brittain and Styles at wing back. His teams pressed really high up and he used to regularly make lots of attacking subs after an hour to get freshness into the team. Question is, would he be able to play such a different style with such little time to implement his ideas?

Definitely not the worst name mentioned but equally big question marks as to his record after Barnsley.

There's probably quite a few players in local pub leagues who could play that way I imagine?

Honestly Id give it to Lowe and DJ as they know the environment and players.

New manager who comes in could easily get confused and frustrated with the clown show and kick off and be a distraction.
