You do keep saying it but his last 3 roles  (Middlesbrough, Huddersfield & Aberdeen) were hardly massive success stories.

He's also 76 and by all accounts enjoying being a Grandad.

I think it's time to move in from the likes of Allardyce and Warnock.

Middlesbrough and Huddersfield were success stories given where they were when he took over.

Aberdeen granted a failure but its his Championship record I am interested in.

It's 13-16 games and 2-3 months of a job. No more than that. He can return to retirement a bit wealthier in May.

We are in no position to turn our noses up at tried and proven operators just because they are getting on a bit. It is taking unnecessary gambles or the dross we are being linked with now that is a bigger risk.

Obviously we dont know how many are being interviewed but as I said, 7 or 8 would suggest that they dont really know what they are looking for.

We seem to get more than our fair share of internal politics and disagreements due to the dysfunctional way the club is run.

But actually, I shouldnt talk about that as you have already told me off for.

I think we know what type of head coach we want and how we want the structure to work. Its looks like applicants so far have been interviewed by Zoom and now we are entering the second interviews and made a job offer to the choose one if they are going to London as suggested by Alan Nixon.

I'm sure plenty of club board management have disagreements and that's is normal within any working structure or management structure. That would be very normal in business and lets not forget football clubs should be run as Business at the end of the day

RF99, we all know what the bigger issues about contract renewals for certain players but also spending more what we received but looks hope we make a good head coach appointment.

Mrs Desai: " So Steven, long time since we've spoken, thought you'd have retired by now at your age, how goes the search for a new manager?"

Waggott: : "Excellently Madam. After two weeks of dilligent work I can confirm we've been priced out of the hunt for a League 1 manager by a £250,000 compensation clause. (That's the Division below us btw)

However I can confirm we are on with discussions with a guy with practically zero managerial experience and who was sacked less than six months into his last job and an older guy who's barely managed since 2018 and who only lasted about 6 months in each of his last two jobs.

Mrs Desai: "Sounds perfect Steven. Good work. And remember remind David if he wins another couple of games, he'll have to go. He was warned".

If we end up with Aitor Karanka would you be happy? Or Ljinders? Or Ismael?

You clearly have more faith in our dysfunctionally run club than I do.

No-one is suggesting he came in permanently I dont think.

He just needs to come in for a few months and put a smile on everyone's faces and a spring in everyone's step.

I would be happy with Ismael being appoint here.

Don't know enough on Lijnders as head coach. I know he was Klopp number 2

Karanka, wouldn't be keen at all given his recent managerial history. He knows Gestede tho, so his appointment wouldn't surprise me.

If they have gone to London, suggest to me that we are meeting a couple more head coaches who are in work maybe Duff or foreign head coach

You'd think Billy Mckinlay would have had a go by now.

was close to getting the WBA head coach before deciding to go to Everton and number 2 to Moyes

Exactly.

We don’t need someone to come in and try to change things radically at this stage.

We need a good man manager who will reassure both players and fans alike.

I can’t believe I’m saying this , but I’d rather stick with Lowe until the end of the season then go with likes of Ismael and Karanka.

I'd go for Warnock on a 6 month contract with big bonus for achieving promotion.

The situation  is made for him.

Completely agree.

Has the know-how and experience, as well as being a very good motivator and man-manager.

I saw somebody use his age as a reason why not to get him earlier in the thread.
Give me a 70-odd year old man who knows the job inside out over someone who's been managing for 5 minutes.

We need experience right now.

It would say a lot if a convulated process featuring all these applicants resulted in the appointment of one of Gestede's old managers who has had a number of failed managerial stints in recent history.

The managers in general that have been linked have been a mixture of dubious, underwhelming and out right bad. Karanka I think beside maybe the comedic shouts of Boateng and Boa Morte would be as bad as has been linked. And based on initial reaction from fans, it would cause further unrest.
