It won’t happen, but I’d be delighted if it was Dyche.

Head and shoulders above most of the known candidates.

I think he’d virtually guarantee a Play Off place.

My personal view is that Duff would be Waggotts choice, the other linked choices absolutely stink of being Rudy picks. We could see a bit of a power struggle and I get the impression Rudy has been getting his way on most things. Which when you factor in he's relatively new to this type of role, is a bit embarrassing for the old timers.

Karanka has a 26% win record in his last two Championship jobs at Forest and Birmingham.

Maybe they are hoping he brings that form here so that it drops us out of the top 6 before May.

He wanted out because he wanted not just his own choice of players in but also because he wanted assurances and clarity regarding budgets and contracts (nearly everyone out of contract in a little over a year need I remind you). 

He didn't get what he wanted which is precisely the reason why he took the unprecedented step of swapping a promotion push for a relegation dogfight with 14 games to play.

From best to worst outcome it would be 

 

A foreign manager who is too naive/uninformed about Venkys, capable and competent to see out this season 

 

A young ambitious manager who sees the gig for what it is, and rides it out for 12 months 

 

An experienced manager successful 5+ years ago, especially with championship experience, who for some reason will work with this lot.  Either ignorant or obvious

If we aren’t going to pay the big bucks for players we need to get a high quality manager IF our ambition is to get promoted. We seen it with Leeds, Bielsa made a bang average squad look like world beaters
