As dumb as Waggott and Suhail are, surely they know it’s gonna be open season on them if it is Karanka and he starts poorly. Seems pretty unanimous across our fanbase that he’d be an appalling appointment.

They don't care about that. He ticks every box for them.

Cheap, desperate to get back in, promotion on the CV.

I’d sooner have Jimmy Krankie.

I have Gerrard Carsley and O ‘Neill in my happy with .. interesting the line about 2 names not being in the public domain

there i one name that hasn’t been discussed or linked with an interview and he’s is arguably the manager with the best CV in particular promotions from the championship ( 2 iirc ) and is currently out of work , the one we don’t want to talk about because he is ex Burnley

Sorry, I just can't stomach the thought of Dyche.

Also, Everton were a complete shambles by the time he was given the bullet.

He still has the best record of anybody else linked with the job , is available , is settled in the north west and thcherry on the cake … Can you imagine the meltdown that lot would have though .. it would be hilarious

It won’t happen, but I’d be delighted if it was Dyche.

Head and shoulders above most of the known candidates.

I think he’d virtually guarantee a Play Off place.

+ it would boil the piss of them lot from down the road

Imagine a Dyche led Rovers beating Them Lot in a playoff final.

Dreamland just for the banter.

Likelihood of Duff?

I've got no idea.

My personal view is that Duff would be Waggotts choice, the other linked choices absolutely stink of being Rudy picks. We could see a bit of a power struggle and I get the impression Rudy has been getting his way on most things. Which when you factor in he's relatively new to this type of role, is a bit embarrassing for the old timers.

Have we been linked with Dyche?

No … but I think somebody should start the rumour on Facebook or twitter see how many dingles we can get to bite

With 15 games to go change nothing, 6 points from 2 managerless games, don’t fix what isn’t broke.

Squad needs a bolster, as well as DL etc have done. Someone with drive, charisma and a genuine desire to get us up.

Can't see anyone else on the list that could do that.

Would be interesting to know who the unknown candidates are, that Elliott Jackson alluded to in his piece today.

We'll see. We're paying £20k p.w. for a guy who's hardly kicked a ball yet.

Not been needed yet with Gueye scoring and performing

It's far too early to be drawing conclusions on the success or otherwise of the January window other than to say it directly led to the departure of a promising manager mid-season, just as it did last year.

So regardless of whether the players turn out to be decent or not it has to balanced against the serious destabilising impact on our coaching staff and retention of a good manager.

Will you be celebrating the January window when every one of them other than Kargbo is off playing elsewhere next season?

Eustace wanted his own choice players in, he wanted out from reports, he got what he wanted, good luck to him at Derby..

Fwiw - I wouldn’t be surprised if the new manager is completely left field. The betting is aligned with press reports. It’s not accurate.

Here we goooooo!

Have to agree here. Someone Niels Frederiksen or Ryan Mason or Damien Duff being that left field.

Niels Frederiksen

Great shout and supposedly knows Adam Owen.

He wanted out because he wanted not just his own choice of players in but also because he wanted assurances and clarity regarding budgets and contracts (nearly everyone out of contract in a little over a year need I remind you).

He didn't get what he wanted which is precisely the reason why he took the unprecedented step of swapping a promotion push for a relegation dogfight with 14 games to play.

Good luck to him? Why would you wish good luck to a rival team's manager?

From best to worst outcome it would be

A foreign manager who is too naive/uninformed about Venkys, capable and competent to see out this season

A young ambitious manager who sees the gig for what it is, and rides it out for 12 months

An experienced manager successful 5+ years ago, especially with championship experience, who for some reason will work with this lot.  Either ignorant or obvious

Would love someone like Dyche. He would motivate and kick backsides when necessary. Short term Contract would be just the ticket!

Long term one even better.

A bloke who knows how to get promotion and how to keep a small club in the Premier League.

Sacking him didn’t do Burnley any good at all.

Dyche is a level above us and would want wages we'd never pay.

But if there was a slight chance, he'd be incredible for us.

Anyone dismissing him because of who he once managed...give your head a wobble.

If we aren’t going to pay the big bucks for players we need to get a high quality manager IF our ambition is to get promoted. We seen it with Leeds, Bielsa made a bang average squad look like world beaters
