JCRovers Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Thing is, if the club doesn't appoint a new reputable head coach now and miss out on the playoffs / promotion, then you're looking at a severely decimated team with many players on loan returning to parent clubs and others leaving due to expiring contracts. Our chances of hiring a qualified head coach in the summer will be vastly more difficult in that regard. I just find it really poor for the club to have no contingency plan whatsoever, knowing that the release-clause was set to ~£500 K. Owners/Waggott/Pasha tried to play hardball and it backfired; they never imagined even once that Eustace was prepared to move to a team in the relegation zone. 1

Unfortunately rational forward thinkers our clubs board members and senior management are not… fully prepared to be totally underwhelmed by Waggot and Grandmaster Pash’s choice Edited February 21 by OnionBalaji 3

You not concerned by that? Think the fans on Saturday make their feelings know about Eustace moved to Derby Yes we know what the problems are but we were in playoff place and I'm disappointed he not see the season through then leave if he wanted. So far Lowe and the rest of the staff plus the players have step up and got us back to back wins, couldn't asked anymore from them. any names you like and think this is the candidate to move us forward and get a playoff place and promotion? I knew you would turn on Eustace and the process has begun. Dont care about what he said or about him in general anymore. What I do care about is he left because our club continues to be run like an absolute shit show and those problems remain. Lack of reinvestment, cant offer contracts, constant disagreements off the pitch etc. You and many others have decided to bury your head in the sand and just obsess over Eustace and what he said. Hes the second manager that has left after consecutive Januarys, no coincidence. I dont know who I would appoint, as I have said before I wouldnt mind Edwards but its a poor pool of realistic choices and if we were run normally we could have kept Eustace. 5

I mean we're sat in 5th, it's 2 weeks since the managerial crisis arose, allegedly 150+ applicants for the job (according to Nixon) and seemingly we cant even fill the vacancy. Certainly not with anyone decent by the looks of it. That should speak volumes and lend some context to Eustace's decision to move. 3

I understand not wishing Eustace any success in the future or being let down by him somewhat. But he seems to have become the main figure of peoples anger rather than the owners and board under whom this has happened twice in two years. And the issues he kicked up a stink against, we agree with him on. 7

RevidgeBlue Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Leicester 0-4. Boro losing. You'd imagine that's another couple of vacancies that could be coming up that anyone decent will find more attractive than us in the long run 4

Yet we are in playoffs despite all those off the field issues. Those problems remain. What a former manager said in the press and whether he told a white lie is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. Couldnt give a shit what he said. 2 1

His comments when first contact was made wasnt truthful Yes the contract issue is the club fault for sure. Yes we should spend more but we don't. Yet we are 5th in the league and great job of a playoff place.

In that spirit then I'd like to propose Gareth Southgate as the next Rovers manager. See you many "likes" and replies it gets and see whether his name suddenly appears in the betting So off we go: Southgate for Rovers. What do you think? He was approached. 1

But that still doesn’t excuse Eustace’s behaviour. He’s a fucking snake as far as I’m concerned. Venkys out. 2

windymiller7 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Ok. I'm. Actually just having a forest in a pub so I'm gonna put it out there - it's Roberto di mateo. Signed & sealed starts on Sunday, will be at the game .

Andy Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I'm trying to work out how one has a forest in a pub. And how that links to Roberto Di Matteo.
