Yes The Professor waved his wand today and magic happened. 🪄 So I guess that result means we are better than Liverpool. 🤔 I wonder whether King Kenny was putting in a good word for Gerrard? 👂 Fine result, composed play and avoided a banana skin. 🍌 We are right in the play off mixer. I hope a new manager doesn't impose his rigid thinking on something that is working beautifully at the moment. 🕺

Popular Post Hasta
Ribeiro was excellent. Proper full back. Like Tronstadt, he just doesn’t seem to lose a tussle. Ive been Forshaw biggest critic, and I’ll preface this with I thought Plymouth were one of the poorer sides we’ve seen here, but he was excellent today bar the dodgy backpass. Popular Post Fraserkirky
Ribeiro take a bow son. My goodness, up and down the line all game yet somehow never got caught out positionally, won every duel. Sign him up. Looked our best player today. Dolan, I would have had off at half time, way off it. Cracking second half though. Serious selection problems here in a few weeks. Kargbo has too start, what a fantastic assist. Cantwell I thought was excellent today too. Cracking squad. Edited February 15 by Fraserkirky

His best game in a Rovers shirt for sure. Yes. Saying he had a very good game is generous. But his performance was a nice surprise since he has looked so poor previously. roversfan99
Had the feeling of a game we just had to get 3 points in however we did it. The first half was dire however the second half was much better and we deserved the win against a poor side. Lots of talk about Forshaw, I know people will think its confirmation bias but I dont think Forshaw was particularly good, in fact he (like a lot) was particularly poor first half. One dodgy backpass should have led to a goal and he gave the ball away a few times. But the game felt like it was drifting and his goal was not only brilliant but the timing was critical so lets hope come May we look back on that as a really crucial contribution. Its ridiculous that we have Ribeiro on such a short term deal and typical of the club. He looks a real find and if we can get him signed for longer (no contracts given out in over a year is it?) then left back is sorted next season with him and Pickering. Deserved man of the match. The centre backs were solid as was Brittain. Dodgy Pears feel like he is back again though. Travis is so important to us, good to see him getting up to speed and hope Tronstad is back soon to partner him. Cantwell had a strange game, he does things no one else is capable of but he was wasteful in the fimal third. Dolan impressed and deserved his goal, and also took on his man a few times and opened up space. Cozier Duberry seems to constantly be falling over and aside from winning the ball and a good cross for Gueye didnt justify starting. Kargbo only really had one chance to show his pace so it was great to see him show another side to his game with a lovely one two with Gueye and a perfect pass for Dolan. Often quick wingers can be neutralised when a team sits in. Gueye missed a couple of good chances but some of his hold up again was very good.

All very complimentary stuff, a lot of them saying we're one of the best they've come up against this year. "Blackburn look by far the most dangerous team we've played in weeks, more so even than Liverpool. Big test for us, this." "They combine being streetwise with flowing football which is a dangerous combination - one of the best performances I have a seen against us this season (rather than teams just taking advantage of us being terrible)" They’re not wrong. I thought we looked really good today. Fully in control and should have been a goal up in the 1st half. Kept possession really well with the midfield dominating. I wasn’t sure how much was to do with Plymouth being crap, but if they’re saying that then maybe we’ve looked better than their recent opponents.

Popular Post Dreams of 1995
Thought we were excellent all over the park today Forshaw showing his class. Looked comfortable next to Travis, who seems to have an ability to make other players better. We dominated that midfield and didn’t let them settle at all. Forshaw showed more of a pressing nature, and it was rare for Plymouth to be able to turn in the middle without pressure Ribeiro putting in a serious performance. Crazy how left back has become our strongest position… I don’t think ACD is the answer and in future I’d rather we went with Kargbo. He’s our player for one so let’s develop him. ACD has flashes of the good stuff, but in general too slow on the ball and not direct enough for us I want to see more of Dennis - is he not fit? It’s nice to know we have him on the bench but today seemed ideal for him to get 20 minutes in David Lowe has been a real gentleman about this. He gets a lot of stick on here - I don’t know why - but a long standing servant of the club stepping up to the plate and making us that little bit more attractive. Can’t thank him enough. Comes across well in his interviews also. I can see why they want him to stay around. He’s brought a calming influence to proceedings and any incoming manager knows he has a man with a lot of experience to lean on Gueye is a real good spear head. His presence alone is enough to create room for others. Can’t believe we spent £5m and 3(4?) years of Gallagher when this bloke was plying his trade in the Belgian second tier or wherever Our recruitment team is once again getting it right. All of the additions are showing their worth and considering this team is still missing 7/8 top players, we look capable all over the pitch and with depth to suit. A far cry from the position we found ourselves in early January We lose Beck in the summer - providing we don’t go up!! - so would like to see us move for Ribeiro as a return to Pickering after seeing real full backs in operation would be a step backwards
booth
What a great win. Similar to WBA in that the first half was dire and the second we were on fire. What a player Kargbo looks and Ribiero was great. I'll say it again, we've missed Travis massively. A shame Mak didn't get a goal, he deserved one. Nice to see King Kenny at Ewood. All those memories came flooding back. When we were promoted to the PL via the play offs, I and some friends waited outside of the town hall before the crowds turned up. Then within an hour it was jam packed but we were still at the front. 15 years old, just left high school and got to shake the hands of almost all the team and Jack, then Kenny walked past and I shouted Kenny, he turned round, smiled and shook my hand, right in front of a Granada Reports camera, and it was featured on the news. What great days they were, the town was buzzing. Can we invite him back every home game. Reinstate him as director of football just to pop in to give a pep talk.
