I’ve just checked, and the gate was 10,830, and (Senior moment from me 😵‍💫) the game was, of course, in October 1991.

I was stood at the top of the BBE steps that day. Crazy to think that 3 and a half years later we’d have a brand new all seater stadium, crowds of 30k and be Champions of England.

I was working at Calderstones Hospital at the time, and the midweek before the game,  a colleague had received a tip - off from someone in the know that Kenny was coming, and would be announced at the game.

He wasn’t a bullshitting type of bloke, so I dared to dream.

It was a “pinch me, I’m dreaming” moment at the game itself.

I am sure whoever wrote the words "significant investment" would like to see those significant assets on the pitch.

Kargbo on the left is a no brainer if Ribeiro is considered sound enough to be left with less protection than Hedges offers while isn't Dennis a number 10 rather than a right winger in which case Dolan goes wide right.

Just so you know you can blame me if we lose, my husband decided this morning that we should attend today's match.  So the players, the caretaker manager, Venkys, Waggott, the tealady (if we still emply one) are not to blame.  It's all down to that couple from Clitheroe

Oh, and equally I'll expect a round of applause if we win.

Great to see you back on the Forum, Gumboots. You were always a good read when you used to post, back in the day 😉

Don't worry about the 'Gumboots Effect' on the team - we all have our superstitions and routines that we believe affect what happens on the pitch - my worst one was believing for many years as a child / teenager / young adult / married person who should know better that popping a sarsaparilla tablet under my tongue when Rovers had a corner at the Darwen end would always lead to us scoring (even when inevitably it didn't!). Don't even get me started about the 'need' for a teddy to sail to it's doom overhead across the ranks on the Riverside for Rovers to win!

Just enjoy the game, have a good old shout and know in your heart of hearts that you are there because YOU LOVE THE ROVERS! We all do!

COY GB!

😉

Have any of you guys joined the Venkys out group on Facebook? Theyre asking people to print Suhail and Waggot out posters and bring them to the game.

Forget Waggot- chants MUST be aimed at Suhail today. He is the representative of the owners. He will be at the game.

Waggot doesn’t even speak to Venky’s from what I can gather.

Suhail needs his own chant. He hates the spotlight, from what I’ve been heard.

Also, not expecting a massive uptake on the posters yet. We only formed a couple of days ago! Give it a few weeks though.

Foreshaw and ACD would be disastrous and for me could loose us the game...In what world does ACD get a start?! He was woeful at WBA.

Need an ACD vs Luton style performance. There’s definitely a good player in there somewhere. Forshaw did a decent enough job against Wolves but would defo prefer Bucko

Leicester fans protesting against a board that's brought them success yet we can muster a whisper against a board that's destroyed our club

you ar`nt going to see many protests while the club is in 5th position, especially when everyone, including me,thought we would be in the bottom half this year,it`s just not going to happen

He’s probably a good 4 a side player. He’s too easily dispossessed playing against men who get him facing his own goal and then take the ball off him. He’s taking the ball stood still too often, he needs to be running at opponents.

Kenny Dalglish will be on the pitch before kick off not half time as others stated in here.

65th minute applause for the recent passing of Rovers player and local lad Paul Round 🔵🌹

Not good enough that mentality...there should be protests against the way the Club is being mismanaged.
