MarkBRFC Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I think this could be the biggest damp squib of a day ever. Starts off full of excitement, only to be 2-0 down by half time, with Cov and Bristol both 1-0 up. 2 Quote

Just focus on winning our game, then see what unfolds 💙 I have this nagging thought that we'll do our bit, Coventry wont win, but Preston and Burnley will somehow contrive to win and lose respectively and sink us. Shades of 1980 when "On that famous Saturday Preston fucked it up" as the song went. Like you say, all we can do is win our game and see what happens. It's never ideal when it's not in your own hands but it's a miracle we still have a slight chance after the run we went on. Quote

But… surely the football gods can give us something to smile about after such a long period of misery!? Anything can happen in this league. Quote
norwichblue Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago If we do lose, I just really hope that Bristol do their part and Preston drop. 5 Quote

Or 2017 vibes, up 2-0 early in our must-win game against Brentford, then (ironically!) staring at our phones cheering on Bristol and Ipswich for the rest of the match... That was a friend's GF's first live football game. Still laugh at her post-game review: "It was kind of fun, but then everyone at the end got so sad ☹️" (she's not at all a football fan, despite now being married to a former PL Academy player haha) Quote

On the flip side, Boro can be brilliant on their day, and Preston’s lives depend on it. Hopefully the Neanderthals down the road don’t lose the only game we don’t want them to. There’s an actual chance though now isn’t there. Can’t believe we’ve gone from 0.2% chance to what we have now. At 0-2 down against Wednesday I was in total bloody despair. It's all so Championship.... completely mental. Once you take out the parachute clubs the correlation between net money spent and where you finish in the league is pretty low. Lots of teams that spend big are at the bottom, and lots of clubs who spend bugger all are around the playoffs. It gives you hope that if we can bin off Venkys and get a local coalition we can still be competitive. 2 Quote

forest-of-ewood Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I can see us doing our part against the odds but a 96th minute Coventry goal to sink us as Boro throw players forward searching for a winner. 1 Quote

superniko Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Here are the 81 different combination of results between the the playoff contenders: 21% chance of Rovers finishing in the Top 6 This becomes 66% chance IF Rovers are confirmed as a Win (i.e. 66% chance that 2+ of Millwall, Coventry, Bristol City fail to win) Edited 8 hours ago by superniko 4 Quote
DeeCee Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) It's nice to dream and be positive but who seriously thinks we'll be in the play offs, never mind win them? Edited 5 hours ago by DeeCee Worse grammar than usual Quote

Three weeks ago who would have thought that we would be in with even a slim playoff chance? The only certainty about following Rovers is the uncertainty. 5 Quote

My heart is encouraging me to dream and that's why I'll be there on Sat like I have been at every final game of the last few seasons with blood pressure exploding. My head is telling me we'll be two down after 20 mins watching Sheff Utd knock it about while their fans laugh at us. Without points deductions they would have 91 points which most seasons would be winning the title or there abouts. I think they have more to play for than Leicester did last year as well. No way do they want to lose to a team they would then have to play away from home five days later. So sadly I think our chance is tiny! It's the hope that kills you (me)! I will give them my full throated backing on Saturday come what may.. COYB Edited 53 minutes ago by StHelensRover Quote
