philipl Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Oh my, imagine wanting Leeds to win by 3 against Bristol City tonight. But that's what supporting the Rovers does to you.🙃 2 Quote

Does anyone really think, that Scot Parker wouldn't prefer to have a Championship winners CV above, handing Millwall 3 points to spit us? Yes, there is the odd exception in both camps, buy by and large the players and manager will remain professional and will be trying to win on Saturday, I am pretty much certain, of that. Even so, I think knowing their fans will be alright with them losing if it stops us getting a playoff spot probably takes a bit of pressure off them. Quote
waynerovers Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Could really do with leeds scoring 3-4 goals today. Quote
CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago 1-0 always dangerous, especially when it should be 2 or 3-0 Quote
Ricky Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago At present a Bristol draw and Rovers win on the last day puts us above them. Shame Preston are absolute wank at the moment. Good thing is that they potentially need to get something from the game to stay up. 1 Quote
neophox Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago We need to go to Sheffield and get a win and see if that takes us through. It will be tight. 3 Quote

I've already shared the 20 combinations of results that end up with Rovers in the Top 6, but thought it's worth mentioning, that if Rovers do win, then there is a 67% chance of the Top 6. So we're more likely than not, to get the other results in our favour, just that we have to do the job ourselves. Just shows, if we just had a draw vs Cardiff at home then this would be in our own hands - although I think with this team I'd rather be chasing from the outside than having it in our own hands. Can you run the numbers again mate? Quote
neophox Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Preston need a win or draw to stay up...will surely fight for their lives against Bristol C Burnley should beat a Millwall at home to win the title...same Millwall we beat 4-1 some weeks ago. Middlesbrough will do their best to win at Coventry...surely s tight game who could go either way ... So we will need a win away as draw won't take us up. 5 Quote

Will confirm tomorrow, but should just be the same as above as that assumed a Leeds win tonight, but now we’ve confirmed that no GD swing needed. Essentially 1) Rovers win 2) Any 2, or all 3, of Bristol City, Coventry and Millwall fail to win (draw or lose) Edited 12 hours ago by superniko 3 Quote
Backroom DE. Posted 12 hours ago Backroom Posted 12 hours ago We have to win, but that was the case regardless of tonight's result. I think if Millwall win we need both Coventry and Bristol City to drop points to get into the playoffs. If Millwall draw or lose then we only need one of Coventry or Bristol City to drop points. Both of them have the advantage of the home crowd roaring them on. On the flip side, Boro can be brilliant on their day, and Preston’s lives depend on it. Hopefully the Neanderthals down the road don’t lose the only game we don’t want them to. There’s an actual chance though now isn’t there. Can’t believe we’ve gone from 0.2% chance to what we have now. At 0-2 down against Wednesday I was in total bloody despair. 1 Quote
RevidgeBlue Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Tonight's result whilst very satisfying is probably irrelevant as I can't see Bristol City not beating Preston. I think we have to hope we win, and you'd expect Burnley to beat Millwall in which case it then boils down to Coventry not beating Boro. Quote

I think that if we win we'll do it, it's just whether we win or not. I strongly fancy Boro to get something, and I wouldn't put money on Bristol winning. Leeds' win tonight should ensure Burnley go for the win. 2 Quote

When you look at Preston's overall form, and Bristol City's home form, then it does seem unlikely that Preston will get anything. Stranger things have happened though. The main positive from tonight's result is that a draw in their game would now be enough for us to leapfrog them, in the event we beat Sheff Utd (we'll probably draw or lose, but still, hope burns eternal). Bristol City last dropped points at home to Hull on 8th March. Preston last picked up a point on the road at Sunderland on 11th March. Both 1-1 draws. 1 Quote
Cuppliance Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We need a 2/3 outcome scenario. Odds are against us of course but if we don't win our match, all of it is irrelevant anyway. Bristol City to draw or lose Coventry City to draw or lose Millwall to draw or lose I have a feeling that 2 of those 3 will play out but we fail to beat Sheffield United. Middlesbrough could sneak in the back door. Quote
TheRevAshton Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Knowing our luck, the results will go our way... then we'll get smashed 3-0 off Sheff Utd's B team 😅 But no, on a serious note - come on lads! Just focus on winning our game, then see what unfolds 💙 2 Quote
