We have been in and around the play offs all season. I see no reason for that to stop.

Part of me feels thar the manager leaving will help refocus and energise. Good things often come from adversity.

I also feel its time the players went up a gear. We have often been poor going forward and we need goals from our strikers and attacking midfielders.

The goals are starting to come now weve got the players and they are.more than capable just need it to be alright on the night!

Same with Derby surely. Yes, it would be great if both failed to get promoted/avoid relegation. But our focus is surely on us so we need results to go in our favour.

I'm happy for Derby to stay up. It wouldn't make me any happier at all if they went down. Enjoyed their recent defeat but they are irrelevant and I've no ill will towards Eustace, but that's just me. Hope he gets some points against our rivals. Certainly wouldn't mention them in the same breath as Burnley.

Ok, so it is inevitable that we will suffer some slip ups and defeats during the run in (although how wonderful it would be to go on an unbeaten run!) but with the way we are functioning as a team at the moment, I think everyone who loves what Blackburn Rovers really stands for will be happy with the application and endeavour, if not also the craft, that seems to be the hallmark of this group of players. Arte et Labore indeed!

So, with 13 games to go, what would represent a reasonable return, based on current and recent form?

For me, taking 20 out of 39 would be a creditable achievement. That would be five wins and five draws, with three games going against us. If we can do better, then brilliant!

The players know what they need to do - sod the undertone of a management who appear dead set against the prospects of achieving a top 6 finish - let's just go out, enjoy the games, and if that means we end up with a few extra games at the end of the season and the prospect of a trip to Wemberlee, then LET IT BE!!

COYB! ARTE ET LABORE TILL WE DIE!!

The top 4 are just more consistant I don't view them as being considerably better teams. I don't see the two that fall into the playoffs as being any more likely to win the playoffs.

The rest of the teams vying for playoff places are all capable of beating each other. It's a poor yet competitive league, so not easy to predict.

I think if we had the squad we have now from the beginning of the season we're in the picture for top 3.

Defensively, especially with Carter back, Brittain in top form and two of the EPL's best left backs our defence is now enviable.

Pears still puts the shitters on me though..

Travis and Trondstadt are brilliant- Buckley is reborn. I still would have loved a ball carrying centre mid in the mould of Rothwell though..

If teams attack us we now have the tools to punish them on the counter-attack. Kargbo, Dennis, Gueye..

GK: Pears
DL: Beck/Riberio

DR: Brittain

DC: Carter

DC: Hyam/Batth

MC: Trondstadt

MC: Travis

AML:  Kargbo

AMR:  Dennis

AMC: Dolan/Cantwell

ST: Gueye/Ohashi/Dennis/Weimann

Blutty lovely!

The worrying thing is the bold (majority) are all either gone at the end of the season or out of contract in the next 6/12/18 months.

We need to get Travis and Tronstad tied down asap.

We should give Ribiero a longer deal if he continues as he has started.

We should extend Dolan - despite what many say on here he is a solid Championship attacker and won’t be short of suiters (no point selling as we never reinvest)

Hyam may be at his ‘Lenihan’ stage and want more money, but if the deal is right, tie him down too.

I think we will need around 70 points. I don’t think it’ll be much higher and could be around 68-69. On that basis I’d be very happy if we got 20 points. I think it’s achievable if we continue with the same mentality as the last two games, we get the injured players back and don’t lose anymore!

Yup, you're spot on..  I'm just enjoying the moment.. Nyambe, Rothwell, Lenihan, Brereton... absolute madness really...

6 wins, 2 draws, 5 defeats.

Feels pretty do-able for sure, and I’d be very surprised if 71 points didn’t get us a spot this season.

I wouldn't say I'd be happy if Derby went down but I do want them to for the simple reason if they get investment and we don't get promoted Eustace will be in for our better players, and Derby if investment is secured they will offer wages that we won't be matching

That's certainly a reasonable shout

Nobbers need to do us a favour next saturday when they go to Coventry.

Top four teams are well above with Leeds & Sheff Utd looking premiership bound, Dingles & Sunderland looking playoff's 3rd & 4th.

Our win against WBA was much needed and beating Plymouth means we are leading the pack. 13 cup finals left as we look over our shoulders but its looking like any 2 from 9 at the moment. A win away at Swansea is on my wishlist.

I'd still swap right now.

Perhaps they should try living in Blackburn for the last 15 years.

Anything he's doing pales in comparison to venkys.

When he deliberately relegates the club then I might reconsider.

I think we need to bank on requiring 70 points at least. We might be lucky and need a couple fewer, but that's only happened twice since 2006 according to a quick Google. Maybe even longer.

With that in mind, we need to be looking to get about at least another 20 points to be confident of the play offs. 6 wins with a couple of draws. Looking at the fixtures I really think we need to make a serious dent in that over the next 5 games.

Swansea (A), Norwich (H), Derby (A), Stoke (A) & Cardiff (H). These are all on form that varies between average and utterly abysmal. Getting say 10 points from these would put us firmly in pole position before our remaining 8 games, which are undoubtedly tougher on paper.

That looks a tough one when you consider PNE have a midweek catch up game too. And you'd imagine they wouldn't be playing the racist biter, too
