As for Bristol City, if they lose tomorrow, they’ll need to beat Knob End to stay in Play Offs. If they win at Leeds, do you think they’ll care about the Preston game either? Sadly, I think it’s all too late (again)! No way will they do that, when the title is at stake. 4 Quote

RoversClitheroe Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I am absolutely delusional, but excited for May 9th Vs Sheffield United in the playoffs 😂 Quote
philipl Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Sheffield United, so often the breaker of Rovers hearts. And victories for Leeds, Burnley and Preston are needed. Ugh I feel contaminated. 3 Quote
Dreyski Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Too many stars need to align for me to be optimistic about things (It's the hope that kills you) I'll rethink after Leeds/Bristol. Need a Leeds win to push Burnley to the last day. 1 Quote

Saturday lunch time is going full of twists and turns whether it the playoffs or down the bottom of the league for that last place for relegation Quote

Then we just have to hooe Dingles don't hate us as much as we think, I wiuld certainley not look for favours but I bet they don't fancy ending on a losing note. Wonder what clarrot fans want. I suppose I am just thankful and blown away that we have something to play for in the last match. Good stuff could we just sneak in there, will the football gods shine in us. Will Gavin Ward not be the ref. Olus a handful of others who seem anti Rovers can't quite pull their names from me fading memory but Ward's sticks Edited 4 hours ago by USABlue Quote

Olus a handful of others who seem anti Rovers can't quite pull their names from me fading memory but Ward's sticks I honestly don't believe for one minute that the players and manager, care like the supporters do, about getting one over on our local rivals. Does anyone really think, that Scot Parker wouldn't prefer to have a Championship winners CV above, handing Millwall 3 points to spit us? Yes, there is the odd exception in both camps, buy by and large the players and manager will remain professional and will be trying to win on Saturday, I am pretty much certain, of that. 1 Quote

For the players there will be win bonuses, clean sheet bonuses and other benefits but I really don't believe a professional footballer would go into a game and not want to win. 3 Quote
superniko Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We'll have a slightly clearer picture after tonight. I've already shared the 20 combinations of results that end up with Rovers in the Top 6, but thought it's worth mentioning, that if Rovers do win, then there is a 67% chance of the Top 6. So we're more likely than not, to get the other results in our favour, just that we have to do the job ourselves. Just shows, if we just had a draw vs Cardiff at home then this would be in our own hands - although I think with this team I'd rather be chasing from the outside than having it in our own hands. 2 Quote

Yep, those players will have a bigger bonus for winning the league vs 2nd. No doubt at all that Burnley will be going full strength to win the league, get 100 points, get bigger pay days and have a better CV. Millwall are 5/1 to win that match currently, Burnley 4/6 - which reflects correctly. 2 Quote

1874 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago With the first playoff game only 5 days later I can see Sheff Utd playing a weakened but very physical team against us. They will want to give us as hard a game as possible in the event that we meet them in the playoffs. That's what i'd do anyway 1 Quote
Old Codger Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Let's face it, the prize here is getting into the playoffs under unexpected circumstances, versus where we were in the doldrums with Valerien looking clueless and taciturn. I don't for one nanosecond think any consideration has been given to what to do should the even more unthinkable (i.e. winning a place back in the Prem) should happen - whilst it is nice for a change to have a season finish with something positive to play for, imagine the carnage if this squad (earmarked by many for relegation to L1 this season!) should find itself anywhere near the cauldron of pounce and kill that is Premier League status these days. But hey ho... where there is a game of football, there is room for optimism 🙂 VENKYS OUT! AND TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU 😞 Quote

USABlue Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I will be watching Leeds v Bristol as I did Luton and Coventry. Exciting stuff and not quite as gut wrenchingly oainfull and lots less stress than watching us. Actually get to enjoy the game while still having someone to cheer for. Cheering for Leeds today is gonna chap me arse somewhat but at least it is for a good cause. Edited 1 hour ago by USABlue Quote
