v Swansea City (a) - 22/2/25

                     Pears

Brittain   Sanderson   Hyam.   Ribeiro

               Travis.  Forshaw

Dolan.        Cantwell.        Kargbo

                    Drogba

Subs - Toth, JRC, Carter, Beck, Buckley, ACD, Weimann, Hedges, Dennis.

Assuming Batth isn’t fit, Carter makes the bench.

Away from home, keep the solid base. Excellent performances by Ribeiro and Forshaw mean they keep their places.

Cantwell just about keeps his place, vs Weimann but I wouldn’t be adverse to the latter. Kargbo has to start for me.

Note - picking the bench was tough, once you add Sonny, Ohashi and Carter to the team, it becomes likely that JRC, Sanderson, Hedges, ACD, and Woodrow could miss out completely!? Injuries and suspensions will dictate otherwise, of course. Great position to be in though.

Their form is as bad as it gets. Utterly dire. Their last 10 reads W1, D1, L8. In that time they've not scored more than one goal in a game, and have failed to score in three of their last four.

The Championship is mad and away points aren't to be sniffed at, but we have to be targeting three points from this one.

Mortgage on a home win then, yeah?

We're playing very well at the moment, clearly the favourites for this one!

As mentioned by someone previously, Swansea's record in their last 10 matches reads 1W - 1D - 8L. In those 10 games they've conceded 24 goals, and scored only 5.

Comparing our form with theirs, i'm certain of 3 p... hold on a minute.

Sorry, but i've seen this one too many times.

- Rovers playing great, high in the table.
- Opposition badly out of form.
- Opposition struggling to score, leaking goals very heavily.
- Long away journey.

3-0 Swansea.

Much as I like Buckley I can't see Forshaw being dropped after playing a good game and scoring

It would be harsh on Forshaw, but I think Buckley should play. Mainly because we're likely to have about half of the 74%(!) possession that we had vs Plymouth, so younger legs are what's required for this one.

Tricky one. Swansea are not in good form really, and will be there for the taking. Rovers have every chance of making it 3 wins in a row but I feel like a score draw is more likely...we don't get many of them so we're probably due.

No real need to change anything at the back, but there is potential for one or two difference further up the pitch. I suspect Hedges will get the nod over Kargbo on the left for his defensive work.  Can see Weimann coming in for Cantwell as well.

Nice to have options.

I'll go for a 1-1 draw.

When we are expected to win we have a bad habit of underperforming and 'throwing one in' to the chagrin of our fans.

We have a break though for a change all fresh ready to go

Hoping to go to this one. If the players have serious ambitions of the playoffs then it's a must win. They're very out of form and we have to take advantage of that. We have options and quality around the pitch to cause them a lot of problems.

On the other hand they'll be fighting for their lives to not get dragged into a relegation battle. Have to just keep picking up points even if it is just a draw but this is very winnable.

Indeed. If this was to happen then Lowe would be hounded out of the club for his 7 points from 3 games and would forever be known as "worse than Kean"
