No we don't RF99. Why would we not keep going on about who the new Blackburn Rovers manager might be on a Blackburn Rovers message board? Seems like that's exactly what we would do? 7 Quote
Old Codger Posted February 19 Posted February 19 The wheels are bound to come off at some point, and a trip to Swansea isn't something to take lightly. I don't think the players can do the 'Dougie Sandpit*' poker face thing this weekend, to lull our opponents into a false sense of security, entering the changing rooms with glum faces as if the world was coming to an end.. So, we will have to go with the full-scale let's do this plan based on what we are actually capable of, building upon our relatively miserly defence, and our new-found confidence in front of goal. It has been said that we have key players coming back into contention, which I suppose does increase our strength in depth, but I think we need to be careful to maintain the momentum with the players that have delivered so wonderfully in the two post-JE contests so far. The only rider to place on that would be that normally there would be a 'head coach' through whom selection decisions would be made, and as many have pointed out, we are down several in number in the coaching department, and have only a temporary figure head in place to marshal the troops. It is possible, of course, that a more democratic 'player-led' movement has sprung up, and that the team is self-selecting based upon the professionalism, commitment and desire to win of the current group. So, on to Saturday's fixture. What might we expect? Swanning into town like we own it? Swansea 0 Rovers 2 Swansong for the backroom boys? Swans 2 Rovers reversed 0 'Swan more notch on the bedpost as we charge towards playoff glory? Dead birds 1 Wilderbeasts from the North 4 I'm going for a conservative draw - either a mutual lock out, or both sides landing punches. Whatever happens, I hope the players continue to give it all for the Rovers cause - it is a long time since we had a feeling of such togetherness from the team, and long may it continue! COYB!! 6 Quote

Entirely separate and not worth mentioning. 4 Quote
Popular Post wilba23 Posted February 19 Popular Post Posted February 19 I'd like us to go for it in this game, get into them from the off and keep their spirits down. Would go for a similar team to last time but play Buckley and Kargbo instead of Forshaw and Cozier-dubery with Dolan on the right as that's where he seems most effective. Would like to see Dennis get some minutes at some point. 10 Quote

damo100 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Does anyone know how many tickets we've shifted for this? Quote
... Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 It's a win this for me. The lads know their jobs now, they've everything to play for. We're in the top 6and there's no better motivation than that right now. I don't think not having a manager is going to play too much of a part in their performance, they've got a good guy there in David Lowe clearly well respected by the lads and makes the effort more rewarding. Let's have them 1 Quote

Why wouldn't we discuss any of that? It's a message board for discussion about Blackburn Rovers. You don't half come out with some total codswallop. 5 Quote

They are dragging it out long enough to be able to give it to Lowe until the end of the season. 2 Quote

CottonTownBoy Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Can anyone else remember a Rovers game where both clubs didn't have a manager/head coach in place for that match. Quote
CottonTownBoy Posted February 20 Posted February 20 This game v Swansea reminds me of Game of Thrones, Series 6, Episode 9 - Battle of the Bastards 6 Quote
