He wouldn't have been my first choice but nor is he a pitiful appointnent. Many of the names mentioned might potentially fit that description ( Boateng, Boa Morte etc) but I think you're being a bit of a drama queen.

Difficult to have any optimism after what happened with the last two managers. Or indeed, what's happened in general over the past 14 years or so.

However, I'll judge him based on how we perform on the pitch. Clean slate and no pre-judgement. Let's see what he can do.

It could be fun, because he looks like a sergeant major type, as opposed to Eustace’s arm around the shoulder.

Wouldn't have been my choice - just hope it proves to be an inspired appointment but not holding my breath.
