Yeah agreed, no way Eustace would have taken 5k a week. My guess is the manager budget has been pretty much the same through Mowbray, JDT, Eustace and Ismael.

Not overly under or even over whelmed, just whelmed, similar to when we appointed Eustace. Not a bad appointment for me, sacked after 1 win in 10 at WBA, but Eustace had 2 in 13 was it before he left us? It happens in this league. I’m just glad it wasn’t the Adkins/Pearson/Grayson I was fearful of us getting!

Unlike a few previous appointments, he’s coming in at a good time. We’re very well placed and now we need that extra boost to lift us for just a couple of months.

Currently that’s all that matters. Go for it Valerian.

Like every new Rovers manager, I’ll support them until they don’t deserve to be supported. I wasn’t sure of Eustace at first, but look how he turned out. I guess we shouldn’t just dismiss a new manager as rubbish, as I am prone to do, just because he has had winless runs of form. Look at Eustace last season and recently, yet we nearly all wanted him to stay. 
I wish him luck and his management style might be successful in the short term at least, which with 12 games remaining is all that we need. If his downfall is when we’re in the Premiership I for one will take that.

I believe that part of his attractiveness to the regime will be that he won't have many demands when it comes to his own staff and that the current establishment behind the scenes will be brought further into the fold than they were under Eustace, where other than Benson the others were rarely seen and apparently sidelined. The regime will want to ensure they are front and centre again.

Hope this is not the kiss of death - Iley was an honest lad but totally incompetent (in the Ince / Kean 'class').  Never forgave him for losing Waggy.

But Eustace on £5k pw here, Derby offered £15k.  He was also asked by the board to play signings made by the club in summer and Jan at the expense of players already at the club.  JE asked them to match Derby wages but obvs they told him to get stuffed.

Bit worrying and I’d hope that VI won’t be selecting his team based on anything but what’s best to win games but who knows.  Could explain why Buckley been dropped for Forshaw lately.  Apparently academy grad players been told to expect less game time.  This was a couple weeks ago.

Anyways don’t shoot the messenger but this is info coming direct from the inside the club apparently.

Nothing would surprise me with our, IMO, shambolic club and management.  Too many cooks spoil the broth and too many egos and legends in their own minds.

I think you are right, and the below quote seems to indicate that Sheron and Butler will also be promoted to first team duties, so can we maybe expect Lowe as assistant manager?

I think Pears reverting to norm after a good spell is due to the fact that Pears does not see.any competition from Toth.  Ainsley upped his game when we brought in a back up once Pears.saw.how.shit the back up was.and no threat to his spot he relaxed again.

Wolves WERE a top club while Waggy was there: league cup winner, Uefa cup finalist, top 5 finishes - the surprise is he was turning out for us a few years later.

Wolves were a very decent outfit but my recollection is the 1970's were dominated by Liverpool, Arsenal and Leeds with only Derby, Forest and Ipswich enjoying some top 3 success.

 Re interview :comes across as quite tough and not a lot like Eustace.

Whether his style works is anyones guess. Very interesting to see team selections(presumably guided a bit by Lowe)

. If its all about effort and commitment rather than skill then could be better for Travis & Dolan than Buckley & Cantwell. We shall see.

Yeah, Mike Harrison was built like a taller and faster Mark Hughes with a shot like a rocket. As you say he didn’t relish the rough stuff unfortunately. Fergie could fight fire with fire.

Travis and Dolan don't need any effort or commitment bringing to their game. Cantwell and Buckley do. So it could be good for them in that sense, if they can rise to meet the challenge.
