BRFC4EVA Posted Sunday at 19:05 Share Posted Sunday at 19:05 This Manager is clearly clueless and long since busted flush. Anyone who says otherwise, or is saying it is only 2 games is niave or deluding themselves. We will finish comfortably short of the playoffs and in fact, I think we should be opening a relegation 25/26 thread, cos there is only 1 way we are going with this clown in charge.

People spending their hard earned cash on their club,.backing the team That's exactly the point. People are spending their hard earned cash and their time supporting a team that is trying their best. Unfortunately those in the Board Room and the Owners aren't singing from the same hymn sheet. All they care about is reducing costs to a manageable level - which will ultimately end in tears - and they have no interest in pushing for promotion. Those poor fans are being taken for a ride.

The majority of the time you'd expect a "new manager bounce" and the players to look like they're prepared to run through a brick wall for the new man. At least until the honeymoon period wears off. That hasn't happened with us, in fact arguably we've gone worse. We were also extremely lucky to finish with ten men on the pitch against Norwich! I didnt want him as manager in the first place and there's something about him I cant really warm to therefore Im probably somewhat biased against him until he proves me wrong. However I have a very bad feeling about the appointment, I think he's completely the wrong fit, he's not someone anyone seemingly really wanted as manager (probably not even the Club) and bizarrely we've given a 3 and a half year deal to someone who's never lasted more than a year anywhere he's been. If I had to predict, I'd expect this season to tail off spectacularly, our better players to be wanting out, him to be refused funding to rebuild the squad in the style he wants in the summer and to be very unhappy as a result and for us to be firmly rooted in the bottom 3 by the time ten games of next season have passed. Whether we'd be willing or could afford to part Company with him in that situation is anyone's guess. Just standard sort of fare for being a Blackburn Rovers supporter these days I suppose. You could well be right as none of us has a crystal ball to see into the future. I wasn't too excited by the appointment neither but I'm not really judging him from what he says in interviews but what I see on the pitch. I was happy enough with the Norwich game and the character we showed but yesterday was unacceptable on every level. In terms of the length of contract I was surprised by it but it says more about the erratic decision making at Rovers rather than anything about Ismael.

In terms of the length of contract I was surprised by it but it says more about the erratic decision making at Rovers rather than anything about Ismael. That's because they never plan anything out long term. There's just the annual remit from the owners to keep the club in the division on whatever budget they set, additional emphasis on cost cutting since the fraud investigation began. All they do is react to things in a very knee jerk way. The home truths being laid out that there's no long term planning has caused them to offer the new bloke a three year deal to try and keep up some form of pretence. The problem is they aren't very smart so it's all really ham fisted and disjointed and just results in a complete mess. If the fanbase wasn't so pathetically limp it would be really quiet easy to hold their feet to the fire for all of this shit. Instead we just get a bunch of brain dead chumps waving inflatable snakes whilst the club the 'support' easily loses to the bottom of the league, tumbling out of the playoff spots whilst the people running the show get huge bonuses for doing exactly what they've been instructed to do. Hasta Posted Sunday at 20:11 Share Posted Sunday at 20:11 (edited) What worries me about the 3 year contract is that if things do go seriously pear-shaped it makes it even less likely we will get rid. My guess is that as far as managers pay goes, we were offering a very low amount but trying to attract with a longer contract. RoversClitheroe Posted Sunday at 20:17 Share Posted Sunday at 20:17 Honestly never had as much anger for Rovers as I did yesterday. Fuck Waggott. (People absolve him of blame, he is partly to blame) Fuck Pasha Fuck Venkys. Ismael can jog on - seen what happened with the last 2 managers and is not stupid - YES MAN. We need a strong supporter club setup to seriously challenge the club. ASAP
roversfan99 Posted Sunday at 20:37 Share Posted Sunday at 20:37 So purely by accepting the job, as someone who had been out of work for a year, Ismael is automatically a yes man? So whoever came in would have been a yes man? The blame lies with Venkys. Their lapdogs carry out their objective of slashing at the budget to keep them happy and of course they carry blame to an extent but you take them out of the picture and the same thing would likely happen.

Ismael has been here for 2 games ffs.

All I did was post what Ismael's answer to a question he was asked at his first press conference. That's it FFS but yet again the squad is out in force again and again. Yes we all know what we think they were assurances. I would enjoyed asking Waggott or Gestede awhy Eustace wanted to move to Derby and what assurances if any broken to him. But They arent doing interviews currently. Do we need to mention it everyday? Probably not cos we all know You suggested that people should go and watch Ismael's interview, where he appears to have been given assurances that he can build a team. You wouldn't push people in that direction if you didn't believe it yourself. You essentially presented that interview as evidence that he will be backed, ergo, everything is rosy in the garden.
